I think if anyone reads listverse thing they might be able to find some new stuff on Mr H, ta da! Great that is what we need to keep finding, places online where he can be posted about....

EDiT- okay I went back to check and my post is gone! Can anyone else maybe try to post a comment on there and put Mr. H's website and the 2 FB's on there so someone reading there could find them?

Lol, someone else was complaining about that and was told it was impossible. So now there's two of you that have achieved the impossible! I'm glad you're both on Bob's side, because that's just what we need to bring him home.

I just wanted to give a mention to all emergency workers, first responders, police, SAR, firefighters, medics, volunteers, victim support - just everyone really, who goes above and beyond the call of duty everyday, helping others.

I know it's the anniversary of that day in 2001 that was filled with the greatest horror, but I can't helping feeling some sort of joy that there were such wonderful people in the world, prepared to do so much for others in the direst need. Human beings are breathtaking sometimes, they really are. We lost them, but I think I am going down to the SAR thread, just to let the ones we have now know how much they are appreciated.

I did, but it didn't last long enough for me to come back and tell you. That's not a person deleting them - there's something wrong. Unless you go through fb, it wants a user name and email in advance before you post. Once you post, you have to authenticate it with the info you've just given, then it deletes it because your info is 'already in use'.

What a wonderful system. No idea how anyone manages to post anything there.

Because I'm so bad at working my way around that sort of stuff ( even when it works) I'm trying to make a picture page for Bob myself. They don't have to be of Bob, just anything lovely, or inspirational, or touching that somehow has some connection. And that are free to be shared, of course.

If anyone has or sees any pictures they think would suit, please share.

O/T

Did anyone see this heartwarming and heartbreaking story?

Burglars broke into an OC woman's home and amongst other things, stole her child's ASHES and a lock of his hair. He had recently died from cancer.

But two Deputies who didn't know about the crime saw the men parked up and just decided to take a look see. They got the remains of Mom's little boy back.

They have received commendations. :)

Does anyone think that tip line on the OC Sheriff's dept I linked above could be used by anyone with info about Bob?

It's just as far as I can see, Placentia PD don't have one. They just have telephone numbers and I really think some people wouldn't want to speak to authorities in person.
http://www.placentia.org/index.aspx?NID=402

And, like Bob's youngest daughter, might not have the numbers to hand when they need to call.

ETA - It does say on the tip line info it will 'hopefully reverse cold cases'.

I don't see exactly what you are referring to Zwie-" ETA - It does say on the tip line info it will 'hopefully reverse cold cases'. "

do you mean this?
http://occrimestoppers.org/how-to-tip/

it would be good I think if there was an anonymous form of turning in tips

ahh okay , thank you I see that about cold case now, thanks
SO then could 1-855-TIP-OCCS number be utilized , especially if anonymity is sought? that might be good for the right person....

Oh, I'm going to take a risk. How much trouble can a person get in if they ask people with information about a missing 85-year old man, to contact a tip line?

As long as they don't set Larry Montgomery on me - then I'll be scared!

  • #413
if it is legitimate info, then no one should be in 'trouble'

  • #414
Oh, I think as long as someone is not purposely providing false information/tips they won't get in trouble.

Does OC county have their own cold case link? I wonder if Bob's case is listed....

  • #415
I am trying to share some good news, but the circumstances of Bob's case means I can't provide a link at the moment, or all the details I would like to. I don't want anyone supporting Bob to feel pressured, or under scrutiny. So....

In my very firm opinion, Bob's flyers and stickers have gone out to an organisation that could be really helpful in highlighting his case. And maybe we will never get to hear all about it, but I believe the people around SoCal will. And they are the ones that matter most.

I hope nobody thinks I am being unnecessarily cryptic or secretive, but Bob's case is so different from the cases of many other missing people, and I don't want to undo any of the really good progress I think has been made recently, in enlisting support for bringing him home.

Hello Cubby!

I don't know if it's just me, but I've never been able to find a link to anything actually called the Orange Cold Case Unit. If anyone has it, I would be almost eternally grateful for a link, because I am beginning to think it is just a name media have made up for the investigative arm of the DA's office.

  • #418
It used to be the OC TrKRS Unit, z. It is the investigative arm of the Orange County District Attorney's Office. Which means that a DA had a hand in the decision to allocate OC resources to Detective Radomski.

A shout out to Det R-he is no territorial chest thumper. He is willing to do what it takes to close this and I find it incredibly impressive.

As to tips, z-any and all. None too small, kwim? Please, please for the sake of Bob and those who love him...please step forward anyone who still has a piece to this puzzle. Use any means necessary. I have been sent tips for cases, and many many many of our professional posters have received them.

It will be OK. There is nothing scary about it except what is going on inside of your head....(this is directed at any potential tipster.)

Ah, thank you. I think what has been playing at the back of my mind was an old article I found and linked ages ago, that said ( I thought I remembered) that OC or Placentia Cold Case Unit had closed. I can't find it now though. Maybe it meant an arm of the police department, rather than the DA's Office.

Listen to me - I'm not really giving away that I still can't quite believe the good news about the renewed help with Bob's case, am I? I'm gnawing away at a problem that is only in my own head.....I'm going to repeat three times a day to myself, 'OC COLD Case Unit is looking into Bob's case. Detective Loomis said so. Stop worrying.'

*Another Robert (Hoagland) has gone missing in Conneticut. There is confusion about what he was wearing, and if his wallet and keys and glasses were with him. :(

I'm happy to find that Bob's youngest daughter got a big wedding too. I kept wondering if Bob had maybe been a bit unfair and not treated her to a 'big do' like her sisters. The pic reminds me of wedding pics of me and Mr Z - son in law is quite a big man, and the bride is very tiny. My wedding wasn't big enough to get reported in a newspaper, of course though.

You have to be a member to view the article properly, but the text is underneath.
