As a woman over 40, I constantly need to remind myself that I'm not a youngster anymore. My elevator was slow so I decided to run down nine flights of stairs when I clunked my head taking a fast turn. The two minutes I saved were lost with a visit to urgent care.
Sounds about right 🥹

She said she had to go to a Big 5 store to buy a mouth guard for her stepson.
[snip]
"He was a healthy baby, he was crawling, he was kicking, he was playing with his toys. Whoever took our son, please give him back," the baby's father, Jake Haro, told ABC7.
'Inconsistencies' found in statement by mom of missing baby, San Bernardino County authorities say

MOO there is a reason why she and little Emmanuel went alone on this mission. I want to know who saw her that day before this incident. I want to know who saw the baby that day before this incident. I want to know if anyone saw the mother without sunglasses that day prior to the reported abduction. I want to know what the children have had to say about the condition of mom and baby prior to the game/practice.

I think now is where search warrants for digital devices and vehicles come into play.
I also caught that, the Dad using "Was" in a past tense as he is no longer doing those things.

That missing poster is wild. “Missing kid,” like he’s a dog or something.

Just on pg 4 of the thread. They remind me of the West boys' murderers.

I noticed that too. It made me sad, remembering the small, inconsequential photos of those two cuties. I was expecting a flood of photos, Christmas, playing, dancing, in the yard. Nothing but one photo of each child. And not even very good pictures either. Same as this little cutie.

Contrast with the plethora and numerous photos we were given of the Iskander boys, who were killed by Rebecca Grossman.

I wonder if some aspects of the story are true - perhaps someone punched her in the face around the same time the child "went missing" when she became upset about the missing child but that someone wasn't a stranger saying "hola" and maybe something happened to the baby in the car - hot car death due to child neglect?

I do worry that while mom could be complicit in all of this, she could also be at risk (and so could the other children).

MOO.

That must of been about 3 to five days before the media statement . I am not a nurse ,maybe one of the nurses will tell us what stage of healing that black eye is at?

Husband inflicted I am pretty sure at an earlier time per reports of his violent behavior. IMO

And if they did arrive in the same vehicle, what time did the husband notice she wasn't back with the mouth guard? Did he call her? Who contacted him about his wife? Did she call him?

good question - have they shown the police their phones to show her calling him after she retrieved her phone?

Don't those mouth guards need to be soaked in boiling water and then moulded to the teeth? Or have things changed since my kids needed them for sports?
I said this exact thing on day 1!!!

[mod snip quoted deleted post]
Forgot that the Big Five tied into the mouth guard story, the basics of which haven’t been disproved yet. Even if she had been there before, I don’t think cameras are something you notice unless you have reason to — especially the absence of cameras.
It may be common knowledge in the area, for some reason or another. A lot of people on SM seemed to be commenting that the neighboring plaza Big Lots closed like it made some kind of difference, which made me wonder if the Big Lots and not the Big Five was the one with/responsible for the cameras in the parking lot.

Reports say mom's story has inaccuracies or inconsistencies. Dad has felony charges against him. Have the other children been removed from the home? I am concerned for their safety. If domestic violence has been an issue, someone might feel desperate as LE closes in.

MOO: a case where LE was appraised of information days ago, some of which has come out here since - I feel confident there is more - and where they are operating to maximize legal compliance toward eventual convictions. MOO: I imagine it is difficult and I hope they have the very best they’ve got working on questioning all of those who have a connection to this case.

Really great points. I believe that DV is a leitmotif running through this family (and extended family), and MOO she is currently trying not to rock the boat with someone with whom she is currently living. He is escalating his abuse from past adjudicated incidents to the disappearance, possible killing, of a child. I don't know if any of the other four children in the household are hers or if some of them are her stepchildren, but I believe she knows she's not safe and the children are not safe. I think this is why she invented a story about a stranger. (Susan Smith, Charles Stuart, the list goes on.) I think she is in a very dangerous situation right now.

I agree. I think mom is in a dangerous situation. She may be complicit and she may also be in danger. I worry for all their children. Jmo.

Even if there aren't cameras in the parking lot, there has to be cameras somewhere along the escape route that the suspect took to drive away. I feel like LE would normally have the video and released a picture of the vehicle by now because time is of the essence.
No vehicles were mentioned. She claims to have been knocked out from behind without seeing the assailant, and there are no witnesses of any kind to offer details.

On Saturday, the Uvalde Foundation For Kids, a national child advocacy and violence prevention group, announced it was withdrawing its search teams and reward offer for Emmanuel. Hours later, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirmed investigators cannot rule out foul play in the child’s disappearance.

Foundation founder Daniel Chapin said troubling details led to the group’s decision. “We cannot in good conscience, utilize our team and resources when so much is missing in this case,” Chapin said at a press conference.

“Of particular concern to us lies within the inconsistencies in the details and the sudden decision by the mother to end communication with law enforcement and our team originally prepared to help. Tell me, what parent would do that who was missing a child? Something is not right in this whole picture.”

According to the foundation’s updated release, inconsistencies in the mother’s account, her refusal to continue communication with investigators, and her lack of response to the group’s inquiries were key factors in ending their efforts. The foundation also disclosed they had uncovered a past abuse case involving the child’s father, raising further questions about Emmanuel’s overall welfare.

No witnesses , no cameras, no vehicles, but knocked out cold right by her truck that was parked very near the front entrance of that store and noone saw a thing?
so possibly she got a black eye while being knocked out from behind? bent over the backset looking for a diaper?

If she was in a dom violence/safety situation. why, when she has an opportunity to speak with police does she clam up?

KTLA news report had some new information. Grandmother says the mom refused a lie detector test. Also, news media now reporting the dad has criminal record. The parent's property is being searched with cadaver dogs. Very sad.
