No witnesses , no cameras, no vehicles, but knocked out cold right by her truck that was parked very near the front entrance of that store and noone saw a thing?
so possibly she got a black eye while being knocked out from behind? maybe it was when she was bent over the backseat looking for a diaper? even though she didnt look at the person that tapped her on the shoulder and said Hola!!!:) 👋 b/c she only saw white.
and who says “ I noticed the baby had gone to the restroom” hes 7 months old!!

I was going to give her some grace thinking she was possibly in a dom violence/safety situation. but when she has an opportunity to speak with police , she clams up?
I was just thinking this, too. How did she get the black eye if she was hit from behind? Did the man crouch down to hit her as she lay unconscious?

I was just thinking this, too. How did she get the black eye if she was hit from behind? Did the man crouch down to hit her as she lay unconscious? I was once punched in the face by a man. I was stunned and saw stars, but I didn't lose consciousness.

Maybe she was hit in the jaw, which is more likely to result in a knock out. The swelling and bruising I developed under and above my eye was much worse than what I see on her. I know everybody is different, but that black eye looks relatively mild.
Right? do we know for sure that she is saying that the black eye was from the alleged assault? shes not even a witness, she saw nothing, just got a tap on the shoulder , a hola, saw white and was out cold until she woke up on the " floor'
Did they come fom home? a hotel? did anyone even see a baby that day? Th family seemed to be at game already, she must have dropped them off??

KTLA news report had some new information. Grandmother says the mom refused a lie detector test. Also, news media now reporting the dad has criminal record. The parent's property is being searched with cadaver dogs. Very sad.

It's troubling that LE haven't yet found the baby. Because if the couple have made up this story - which seems so far fetched and easily disproved - then it's hard to imagine they would successfully hide a body? I suppose it may depend on how long they've had to plan 😞

So the husband told her to say no to the lie detector test until they had a lawyer?

<mod snip off topic>

I wonder if there's anywhere between the game and the Big 5 parking lot where the mother could have done the deed. Baby looks like he's sleeping to the outside world. She drives, drops him somewhere, then heads to the parking lot to call in that he missing.

Of course Jake doesn’t want Rebecca to take a lie detector test. He’s already been through the legal process for beating another child, he knows whats at stake here.

Noting their two year old he was holding in one of the media videos, was removed from the home, per this newscast.

" somebdy struck my wife when she was going to change his "diapey" baby talk, such a contradiction to his charges.

That was downright bizarre, a grown man saying that while being interviewed?

If she was in a dom violence/safety situation. why, when she has an opportunity to speak with police does she clam up?
This is extremely common. The dynamics of DV are complicated and very different of "getting hit a few times by a stranger". Many DV victims even go back to their abuser after years (such as him having served a sentence).

However. In this case, while there might be some degree of DV, I am very unsure if the mum was or was not complicit in the probable abuse (and maybe also killing) of the kid. Kid with a medical condition, even a simple one, is a likely scapegoat. Stress is likely to very high and abuse normalized in a household with a man like the one she has. I am really unsure about the extent of involvment she had - but people close to the family can shed light on the dynamics, so I'm hopeful that the police will see the patterns one way or the other.

We all want to be so wrong. We are all hoping and praying we are so wrong.

and in that short time a stranger is lurking, hoping a mom will show up with a baby he can abduct. What are the odds?
Or the stranger walks by and decides spontaneously to abduct a baby. What are the odds? Slim.

There was that case in Australia where a stranger went past and out of the blue attacked a baby with boiling water, but he didn't abduct the baby which you would imagine would involve some forethought and planning and different motive.
MOO

I agree, I know its more common than I want to believe. Im not sure if thats even the case here, but if it is, I dont know what it will take to help people in these situations, so it doesnt get to the point of lives being lost.

I don't think the baby was in the vehicle that day at all. My hunch is he was gone beforehand. :(

If that's true, then either the parents were in separate cars so the other kids didn't realize the baby wasn't there OR the kids were told to lie. imo

and it doesnt sit right with me that she shopped for a needed mouth guard when it sounds like he was already playing? ( the rest of the family was already at the game). I dont know the circumstnces , maybe he just realized he didnt have one? or forgot to bring it? just is a little late in the game to be shopping otherwse.

I find it a bit strange to describe waking up with a black eye, in the sense that you can't see your own black eye and probably aren't lying on the ground with a mirror in your hand. I'd find it more usual to describe waking up to a very painful face (or head). MOO

The story was he forgot the mouthguard. If they were smart, they made sure to leave the mouthguard at home. He probably did have to sit the game out. Unless they didn't bother with that detail and he had his mouthguard all along. imo

I wonder how far from home the field is - would it make more sense to just go home and fetch the mouthguard rather than buy a new one? That is a detail I'm sure LE thought about.

I remain curious about witnesses at the game - what did they see?

That crossed my mind also.
Was his ex wife there also with other kids ? ( his kids?) that were also playing? is that why emmanuals mom just dropped them off at the game and left to the big 5 with the baby? that could explain why there is no witnesses that saw the baby?
So many things that were like the perfect stprm, forgot his mouthguard, store has no cameras, . ex at the game (or rumour?)
I cant wait to hear what the witnesses have to say
