On the question of her injuries/getting knocked out, having never been knocked out myself and not being a doctor, I really don’t have the expertise to say, but some things to keep in mind:

-Did she actually say the black eye was from the attack or are people just assuming that?

-I recall hitting myself in the temple once, and of all the times I’ve hit my head, that was one of the most excruciatingly painful. But, no mark. And talking about unbelievable…this is was in the most unbelievable of ways lol. I was walking through my sliding glass door from my balcony, and bumped my head against the side door frame. How/why I did that, and how my temple in particular got hit, I have no idea. But, it (embarrassingly) happened. I can’t imagine how bad and debilitating an actual blow to the temple would be, given how painful the little knock to my temple was.

-As I recall, the head injury that knocked JonBenet Ramsey unconscious wasn’t externally visible.

-I think people tend to use “knocked out” figuratively sometimes, and certainly if it resulted in your child being taken, you’ll be trying to convince yourself that it was beyond your control. I know that I describe spells I had in the past as “blacking out” or “fainting” for lack of a better term, but I never actually lost consciousness. I lost my ability to see (everything went black), and I needed to collapse to the ground, but I was conscious throughout.

It is my impression that people are hoping/trying to be discreet playing it out in conversation like we think the attack caused her black eye, because one of the other top potential explanations we could be discussing, odds-wise, is not victim friendly; so best to talk around it.

I haven't seen or read anything in the news confirming that Mom has said anything about how, when, and where she acquired her black eye.

You can get a black eye from getting hit anywhere on or near the face. The blood will pool where there’s room and that’s around the eyes.

That said, if she was hit from behind or the side, there wouldn’t be a black eye. Again, it looks like an old wound, about a week old.

Something else, not especially important but a little curious: why did mom take a baby with her to run a quick errand instead of leaving him with his dad? Or conversely, why didn’t dad run the errand? If getting a mouth guard was important and needed quickly why spend extra minutes strapping/unstrapping a baby in his car seat and changing his diaper? JMO
Anecdotally (and sadly), my brother-in-law would insist on my sister taking the baby with her. As for why it was the mom to go, various plausible reasons, including the possibility the dad simply didn’t want to. The uselessness of my brother-in-law knows no limits, but outwardly, they’re a happy family. So, of all the things that seem off to me, this isn’t one.

More notable to me is that, as others have mentioned, you have a tight 47-minute timeline, and one that can likely be verified by other children in the family at a minimum, if not other witnesses at the game. Do I think it makes any sense at all to come up with a lie that’s so easily disproven? No. But do people surprise me by their stupidity all the time? Yes. But if the 47-minute timeline is corroborated, I think that points towards an abduction. I know that just going to the pharmacy that’s 5 minutes away and back somehow takes a minimum 30 minutes. I don’t think it’s plausible that the mother disappeared her child in that timeframe. Physically possible, sure, but not realistic. Especially knowing the baby has still not been found.

Patiently waiting for announcement of arrests.

This is different than initially right?
Yes --- I thought the dad & kid(s ?) went into the store and the mom stayed to change the baby's diaper ?
Omo.

Did anybody outside the family saw Emmanuel at the game?

I'd like confirmation the baby was in the vehicle. Who saw him? Other parents at the game, the older sibs?

We're taking her word for it that the baby was in the car and needed a diaper change that couldn't wait while on a quick errand to buy a mouthguard.

I wondered the same, because that black eye looks a lot older than two days.
And how does she get hit in the eye if, by her own words, she “ didn’t even turn…”.

Edit: typo
"Someone say, 'Hola.' I couldn't even turn, I don't remember nothing," she said.

Rebecca, who was seen with a black eye from the incident, said she regained consciousness quickly but by then it was too late and her son was gone.
Mom's desperate plea after baby was 'kidnapped during attack' outside store

either the black eye is purported to be from the incident, or the media is making the same wrong assumption we are. 🤷‍♀️

If
she was hit hard enough to knock her unconscious ...there might be a bruise on the back of her head, under her hair ?
Also -- be knocked out cold may require a short hospital visit to ensure there isn't a concussion !
Imo.

Did anybody outside the family saw Emmanuel at the game?
Agreed.

Would also like to know if he was seen on security cameras at the shopping parking lot or at the game, if there are sec. cams there ?
Fwiw.
My .02.

Rbm.
Bbm.
Good points.

I was reading the red bolded and thought, "Oh, so it was from the kidnapping ?"; then finished reading your comment.

Not sure what to think about this as it would be the first time ever, that I've read about a kidnapping of a baby from a parking lot while mom was changing the diaper ?

Most of the time some wrong doers' will try to take off with your vehicle.... but, a baby ?
Sad for this little Emmanuel b/c I'm fearing something bad has happened, but do not know what exactly.
Imo.

The father is currently out on bond, probation revoked for child abuse charges from 2024.

If you go to the Riverside Superior Court website they charge for records by name but it's free if you know how to find a case number :-) Some county court websites are easier to navigate and find case numbers, date of births and full names in than others. A lot of California is almost impossible but Riverside, San Bernardino, Sacramento, Fresno, and Kern County (Bakersfield area) are slightly more user friendly just as an FYI for the future.

So with the case numbers, you can find the court records for free with the following instructions: (you will have to register to use the "dot gov" website with just your email name and a password you create, it's easy).

(1) Go To Superior Court of Riverside County https://www.riverside.courts.ca.gov/
(2) Click on "Search Court Records"
(3) click on large white box a little ways down the page that comes up that says "Search Civil, Criminal Family Law, Probate, and Traffic"
(4) Click on "Case Number Search" (in blue) - enter the case number and the name and number of the case will come up. Click on the case number in blue and the next page will have all the current case details.

These are two OPEN felony cases involving child cruelty for the father of Emmanuel. You can find them for free with the instructions above using the case numbers shows below (cut and paste, they most be exact included any dashes) https://www.riverside.courts.ca.gov/

snipped

Did he approach on foot? Did the baby cry as the assailant fled?

If in a car, did he get out of the car and then back into the car? Was he alone and drove away holding the baby? Or was someone else the driver? Was it a man or woman?

I'm still wondering how somebody knew there was a baby in the car at all? I'm picturing her dealing with the baby in the backseat or rear hatch - but passersby wouldn't necessarily know what she's doing or notice a baby unless really close, imo.

Okay then.

My hinky meter is preparing to exit the parking lot and leave the diaper-change/mouth-guard story behind. imo

Where are the pictures of this baby I’m so mad that we haven’t seen any real pictures

San Bernadino County SO with an update:

Investigators interviewed multiple individuals, including Emmanuel’s parents Jake and Rebecca Haro. During those interviews, Rebecca was confronted with inconsistencies in her initial statement and declined to continue with the interview. At this point in the investigation, investigators are unable to rule out foul play in the disappearance of Emmanuel.
