Barry and Honey Sherman: Duelling investigations, high drama and still no answers - Macleans.caWhether Barry had the physical capability to carry Honey is debatable, but I don't view this as impossible by any means.
I haven't seen him described anywhere as particularly active physically, certainly no hints of athleticism. The opposite seems to be the case, an office athlete, who often didn't eat right, so deeply involved in work.
In an angry, exhilarated state, people do extraordinary things, or things others might view as beyond them.
(But...)
My point was he couldn't stage himself, depending on just what the nature of the staging was. What was the tipping point which led to the summation the couple were killed and staged?
I'll have to comb previous comments as to how they were found, but I'm not optimistic I'll have a clear picture of The Scene if I do.

"In short order, the media was filled with unattributed details about the deaths that pointed to professional killers — that the couple’s wrists had been bound; that Honey Sherman, believed to have arrived home first, struggled with her killer or killers and was found lying in a pool of her own blood. One detail widely circulated, that the Shermans’ winter coats had been pulled back behind them, thus immobilizing their arms, so clearly pointed to murder it was difficult to understand how anyone who had read Nancy Drew, let alone seasoned police officers, would have considered murder-suicide"

Agent who found Shermans dead thought bodies were Halloween prank
"The man and his clients believed it was a Halloween stunt. But the agent for the Shermans — who had met them at the home — later called 911.
What authorities discovered was the couple, seated beside each other, their necks bound with belts attached to the one-metre high pool railing. There were marks on their wrists.
Initially, detectives believed Barry Sherman had murdered his wife then killed himself."

Private investigators believe Toronto billionaires Barry and Honey Sherman were murdered, source says | CBC News
"Private investigators also believe that Honey struggled with her killer or killers. She had cuts on her lip and nose, and was sitting in a pool of her own blood when she was discovered. However, there was comparatively little blood apparent on her upper-body clothing, suggesting that she had been face-down on the tile, bleeding, for some time before being bound to the handrail in an upright position, the source said."

Barry and Honey Sherman were murdered, private investigators claim | The Star
"It’s double murder, not murder-suicide. Barry and Honey Sherman were killed in what looks like a professional, contract killing. That’s the conclusion of a variety of experts who have been hired by the family to probe the case.
Here’s the new information: There are markings on the Shermans’ wrists, an indication that at some point their hands were tied together, though no rope or other ties were found near the bodies. Toxicology tests on their bodies reveal no sign of drugs that would have contributed to their deaths. Men’s leather belts found around their necks were the cause of the “ligature compression” that killed them. A top forensic pathologist who did a second autopsy determined this was a double homicide, barring any new information that surfaces."
Private investigators to give update on deaths of Barry, Honey Sherman

"Barry, 75, and Honey, 70, were found dead in their north Toronto mansion on Dec. 15, 2017. A real estate agent discovered the bodies in the basement pool area of the home, which was for sale. They were clothed, and “in a semi-seated position” on the pool deck, hanging from belts tied to a railing. The house showed no sign of forced entry."
