So this is the guy that is running the entire United States military and the Department of Defense:

He installed a makeup studio in the Pentagon

I would call this Exhibit A in the definition of Your Head Up Your Assp category. Trump is gonna be so jealous.
So that's where some of the $1 trillion to overhaul the dept of defense is going!
Great use of taxpayers money there
Ffs - hope he doesn't use the same make up as Donald

Donny has cornered the market and must have numerous 50 gallon drums of spray on Orange #70.

Hegseth is more like Aryan Brotherhood-Summer Tan color.

Rupert is going to slowly dismantle Donald , a day at a time, Maga's cannot absorb stuff quickly, so he will make sure it's done with words of one syllable, and very slowly pronounced, day by day... Obviously, Donny did not consult with Rupe about his brainwave, re tariffs, and Canada and stuff like that, but Rupe doesn't like it much, it affects his bank account, and Jerry (Hall) probably told him to call barley on it, .... I am interested in how Rupe is going to go about shoving the genie back in the bottle, but he's experienced at this.. he's done it before. ..

So Hegseth is pushing back on the makeup room story:

After CBS News published its report, the defense secretary responded in a post on X, "Totally fake story. No 'orders' and no 'makeup.'"

But
An in-house construction crew renovated the adjacent green room earlier this year. The room previously had minimal furnishings — a table with chairs, a TV, photos of former defense secretaries and a mirror on the back of the door, one source said. The table was removed and a new chair and large mirror with makeup lighting was installed, another source said. The renovation that was initially planned was estimated to cost more than $40,000, but the ideas were scaled back, sources said.

Best line in the article: Hegseth is doing his own makeup ahead of TV appearances, not paying for a makeup artist, a defense official told CBS News.

So it IS indeed, a makeup room for Hegseth. 💄 💅 🛀🪮💈🪞

I think Rupert is possibly most unhappy that Trump has turned Australians off the party he has been trying to help win our soon to be next election.

Possibly same with other countries ?

BTW, Rupert has a new wife now, a Russian-born naturalized US citizen who was previously married to a Russian billionaire.

Now I'm convinced it must be true.

Oddly, he is coming down hard on the right wing contender in the AU election, Duddy.. surprising, and he is very soft on Carney, too.. Not saying Rupe has had a change of heart, just that he hates a loser..

O I can't keep up with Rupe and his wives... ;;

Yeah, tell me General James Mattis, previous Supreme Allied Commander, had a mirror with makeup lights installed in a room next to his office when he was Secretary of Defense.

General Mattis didn't need makeup and makeup lights

He had a ton of shining medals on his chest to show his achievements in a long and faithful military career

""We are leaving wokeness and weakness behind and refocusing on lethality, meritocracy, accountability, standards and readiness," he said."
No make up for the army men:

China is Canada’s opportunity, not Canada’s threat,” he said through the embassy’s interpreter.

Wang — whose office requested the interview with The Canadian Press — said that China and Canada appear to be the only countries taking “concrete and real countermeasures against the unjustified U.S. tariffs” imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.

was bored on a Friday night waiting for an Xbox game to install, and so I made a stupid little video that said, ‘Hey, if you Americans who support Canada really want to put money where your mouth is, come on up to Canada, come to my hometown, and spend your money,’” said Maffin.

OMG, you were reading my mind.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Nanaimo Bars. My Mom used to make them and then have to hide them away. They are sooooo good, especially when they are cold from the refrigerator.

WSJ is reporting that the latest Trump reversal of tariff talk has the blowhard now crowing about "administration officials are considering plans to slash tariffs on Chinese imports. Under the proposals, the range could come down to between 50% to 65% as a result of a tiered approach that would see 35% levies on items not considered critical for national security and 100% on those that are, gradually implemented over five years, the paper reported."

Supposedly this would be within 2-3 weeks.

I don't see why China would agree to this. They have time and a massive rare earth metal store on their side. Trump has to show some huge "tariff revenue" on paper to get Congress to pass his nasty budget resolution and tax bill and save his butt, very very soon. China does not have to turn this around on a dime at all.

If China just waits longer, the purported 50% tariff will fall quickly fall to 30%, then 15%, then there will be none.

I feel as though I've been dropped unwillingly into an insanely bad kabuki theater performance.

Thirty-five percent levies on items not considered critical for national security will still affect most toys sold in the US.

Parents will not be happy, I think.

The important thing to remember is that the tariffs are going to hit the US consumer right in the pocketbooks and the US corportation right in their profits, stock prices, and dividends to stockholders.

There is no credible way the consumer can excape from them, nor is there any realistic expectation that the US can create the new manufacturing and jobs to supplant imported items.

This Trump Tariff Disaster is a complete loser for ordinary Americans.
