Crazy.... watching 60 mins ( Aus ) tonight seeing pictures of Bryer, he had blue eyes just like his dad.

Not useful information..... it just spun me out, as all footage I have seen he looks like his eye colour was dark.

BS's screenshots are interesting though.

more and more I think that these two were just stupid and that they thought, after playing video games, that it would be fun to act out offing people and burning cars, IMO. presumably video games do not "cause violence," but we definitely use video to train people in tasks, and maybe they started to lose sight of the difference between games and reality. I also think that if they had just stolen some food or gas, people would be "happier' with them and more likely to "forgive them" as stupid kids, but once they started killing, they crossed a line in society, IMO. I also wonder if they had some altercation with one or both families before they left- some one must have said: "don't quit your jobs so soon; keep working; save money; what are you really going to do, etc." and maybe that made it impossible in their eyes to call home, ask for money, admit they were wrong or stranded or needed help. we also do not know if they had permission to take the truck; maybe they just drove it away. (all speculation, IMO).

The attached radio interview with a former American White Supremacist contains thoughtful explanations about the crisis of youth alienation & appeal of hate ideology. The interview was aired last Friday following the tragedy of gun violence this past week — & the last 30 years — in the US.

The interview is with Christian Picciolini who himself overcame hate indoctrination that began as a young teen to emerge as a compassionate adult. His analysis is an example, among other things, of why I believe it’s a mistake to demonize perpetrators, despite the horror they inflict.

Is this because you believe that CM and BS were an "extremist group" or "white supremacists"? As there has been nothing to indicate that apart from speculation and wowser tv shows making all sorts of wild assumptions should be watched with your Bullsh meter turned onto high!

RCMP are looking along the Sundance Creek, which connects the Rav4 with the Nelson River. If they took that route, what are the chances that a boat was sitting there? They are looking at the possibility that they walked until the river cliffs became so steep that they couldn't continue on the shore.

Sundance Creek

I think it's possible that there was a boat pushed up onshore at the mouth of the Sundance Creek. It's not uncommon in these parts (remote but not Sundance) for people to leave their river boat/canoe close to the entrance of bigger water, and vice versa. They wouldn't likely leave oars, life jackets or gear in the boat.

That might explain why no one reported their boat missing. During the manhunt, the local people might not have been checking those places.

Just curious, why is everyone mentioning the amount of pages in the thread. I get it's more pages than most but what difference does it make?

Does it take longer to load for some people?

I'm thinking they split the thread when the topic lulls. That way new people coming in don't miss back pages for an ongoing topic.

If they split it now - with all the topics covered recently - new people wouldn't be able to look back on pages for background.

I don't presume to speak for mods, but until new info comes out, like autopsy results, COD, or such, there really isn't much to talk about other than chatter and rehashing the same old same old. The mods may be allowing this thread to basically play itself out...and will start fresh when there is some more real news. JMO

Yes I agree, they left a calling card each step of the way and it wasn't surprising they left personal items some distance from where they met their end of life.

I certainly agree, up to a point, but whey would they leave a "bread crumb trail" to their bodies so they would be found? If they wanted their bodies to be found, why go into dense brush to do the deed? Why not stand out in the open, where they would surely quickly be found? Like almost every other aspect of this case, it just doesn't make sense to me.

60 Minutes Australia: EXCLUSIVE: Disturbing insight on Canada's teen killers | 60 Minutes Australia

It's approximately 17m 36s long

Thanks for posting the link. Personally, I find AS to be compelling and genuine. I'm sure he is being paid well, and there may be a little hustler/grifter in him. But still, I think he is being real.

Interesting that he is the first EVER parent (that I know of) to address the world during and immediately after his son's pursuit by LE. As an American, I'm pretty sure that the parents of any and all of American shooting events went silent and understandably so. Kleibold, one of the Columbine shooter's mother has now done a Ted talk but it was many years before she came forward. I can't even imagine what it is like to wake up one morning, realizing that the world hates you by proxy and is more than willing to watch your life unravel before their eyes.

No, it is not about Kam or Bryer being either of those things. The author has encouraging insights into the crisis of teenage alienation, ways to help & support teens, and the ability of people in general to overcome murderous rage and become compassionate human beings.

Wow I definitely recommend everyone to read the whole article. It has a lot of insight. It seems totally apparent that Kam was the leader...I mean Kam getting the car out while Bryer was standing 100 feet away "at the end of his rope" says it all, pretty much. I also definitely feel now like this wasn't planned as a suicide mission and likely wasn't planned as murders either. They were terrified. I also agree with this guy's read on them and assessment of the overall motive. I feel even more sad about this whole situation now after reading this.
I guess, in eastern Alberta, that spotting BC plates with two young strange looking guys stuck in mud, isn't so unusual. He never mentions it.

What about people?
if a person is shot in the head with a .22 they might die in a few min or they might live threw it after months of hospital care. it is not a instant kill. I am sure with a little luck a brain stem could be hit and it be instant. the pop sound is about like a cap gun and the recoil isn't much more than a bb gun. they will fire damp or a little wet and bullets can survive a washing machine and dryer and still fire. they come in many lengths. the cricket .22 is very small but still a riffle.

Scary that there are warnings not to stop overnight in pullouts etc. in Canada. Is this because a truck could pull in and hit you, or is it because of crime issues? In Australia there are an increasing number of pullovers being made, with toilets, bbq areas etc. and they often have multiple cars and trucks stopped overnight, with designated car and truck areas. During peak holiday times local volunteer groups also offer tea/coffee and biscuits to encourage travellers going long distances for many hours to stop and take a break for safety. I have stayed at them many times, in a tiny car with two little children on long interstate trips in Oz!

It's not because of crime, but because some folks leave their garbage behind, and use the bushes for unhygienic purposes, and because it's competition for camping spots with businesses that are trying to earn a living. There could be forest fire risks and other such considerations too.
