I have tried to make myself a short timeline of the relevant and confirmed information we know at the present time, which probably may need some amendment: (don't know if I can post here, delete if needed, but all either have links to sources or is noted as my own opinion!)
Timeline
A few days before leaving? Person says they saw BS and KM purchasing a hunting rifle and ammunition at a shop in Port Alberni.
New witness in teen murder spree case Unconfirmed
12/7/19 BS and KM leave home, telling BS’s father AS they are heading to Alberta and BS’s grandmother they are heading to Whitehorse. (unsure what they told KM’s family). Driving camper truck owned by KM’s family. AS, father of BS gets message saying: “We are going to Alberta today so I won’t have internet for a while. I’ll talk to you when I can”, he also told CHEK News that Bryer has relatives who live in Red Deer Alberta
Suspect’s dad believes Canadian teens in hiding from real killer
13/7/19 Approx. 7.30pm CD and LF spotted on video buying fuel at Fort Nelson.
14/7/19 Sunday CD and LF’s van breaks down approx. 20k south of Liard Hot Springs. They decline offer of assistance, believing their van is flooded and they can get it going. They camp overnight on side of road. Police looking for anyone with dashcam footage from 4pm 14/7/19 to 8am 15/7/19.
Approx. 11pm a 6’3 approx. height Caucasian man, darker skin and darker hair, seen speaking to CD and LF, standing in middle of the road with his arms out, by passing motorist, who felt uneasy and worried with what she saw. Possible older Jeep Cherokee with black stripe on hood, facing southbound.
‘Still troubled by it’: Witness recounts securing the scene of northern B.C. double murder

Young couple found in northern BC died from gunshot wounds: RCMP | News
it takes
(3?) days to identify the murder victims due to inconsistencies with the van registration and identifying items being removed from the victims. (CD’s passport is found hidden in the van approx. 3 days after her murder). Witness describes their bodies laying in similar fashion, with one arm under their body and one splayed out in similar fashion,
indicating possibly dragged aside and rolled onto the front by same person (MOO). Despite reports van rear door window shot from inside, it looks to me like it could have been shot out from the outside (MOO). Australian media report both victims died of gunshot wounds, RCMP later confirm this.
18/7/19 Thursday, BS and KM spotted on video at Super A general store at Dease Lake approx. 3.15pm
Also spotted at Jade City store, north of Dease Lake getting free coffee
(unsure of time, but knowing this could be very helpful).
Teens missing after burning truck and body found in Northern BC | News
- Rumours that 2 men were seen hitchhiking on opposite sides of the highway during past few days (unconfirmed)
19/7/19 Truck found on fire approx. 50k’s south of Dease lake, near Stikine Bridge after a report made to RCMP at Dease Lake. (in turn off on the side of road heading south?)
Body of Leonard D found approx. 2 k’s south of the burning truck on same day after a motorist notified police they had seen what looked like a body (on the side of the road heading north?) (Body appears to have been dragged and laid to one side and may have been dragged and left in similar fashion to CD and LF)
19/7/19 Hairdresser says that BS and Km got haircuts and KM got a beard trim at around 1pm
(Unconfirmed, later pics show KM's appears to not have been trimmed at all, need to add location)
21/7/19 approx. 11am – KM and BS are spotted in Cold Lake where a local resident, not knowing who they are, helps them free a stuck Toyota Rav 4 they are driving.
Possibly on same day, no time given?? KM and BS are captured on security camera footage at a store in Meadow Lake, Sask.
July 22 – Band constables with Tataskweyak Cree Nation at Split Lake in northern Manitoba talk with McLeod and Schmegelsky after pulling them over when they drive through a check stop, unaware of who they are. (no guns reported to have been seen in vehicle, but easy to hide).
July 22 - BS and KM buy $20 of fuel at local servo
July 23 - Fox Lake Cree Nation says a burned-out vehicle (still burning) is found near Gillam, about 170 kilometres east of Split Lake. Police search that area. (BS and KM apparently eat oranges and pork chops, set fire to the vehicle and walk into the bush, possibly following a small stream bed toward the river).
July 24 - RCMP confirm the burned-out vehicle near Gillam is the Toyota Rav 4 the suspects are believed to have been driving. (It appears that Police then identify LD through this vehicle). (Keys and other items found near the vehicle are ignored by RCMP but days later site is re-searched)
Sometime between July 23 and July 28 I believe CM and BS died. I believe BS died before his 19th B'day, MOO. I have only read reports the coroner said “probably” died of gunfire, indicating their remains were not in good condition. If they did die from suicide by gunfire, I feel they would have sat opposite each other, aimed at each other, counted down and shot at same time after completing their goodbye video. (I had originally thought they may use hanging if they had no guns).
July 28 - RCMP descend on York Landing, an isolated community southwest of Gillam, after it's reported the suspects were seen at the local dump.
July 29 - RCMP are unable to confirm the sighting and pull back to Gillam
A timeline of events in the B.C. to Manitoba manhunt
1/8/19 Warning issued by ABASAND Esso that BS and Km were spotted in Parkland, Fairview AB on video
some time before this date. (provides some proof they were in Fairview some time along the way, link on WS somewhere!)
7/8/2019 Bodies of KM and BS found in thick brush approx. 8km from the site of burned vehicle and approx. 1 km from river bank. Cause of death determined to be suicide by gunshot.
(possibly retreating into thick brush to seek some possible shelter from cold and to try to avoid insects, animals and searchers)
Possibly tried going down river in boat, one or both could have been injured, belongings scattered on shore nearby, would guns have also got wet?
I have avoided including too much speculation in this, if I have anything here incorrect it would be great to know, as it is difficult sifting through multiple incorrect news reports to find information!
