Here is the video of the interview with Bryer's great-uncle where he says that the family is very frustrated with the lack of information from the RCMP, and that they have not been given any more information than anyone else.
Of course, that was from August 9th, Bryer's mom's side of the family has not been interviewed since. But we have some clues that they haven't been given any more information:
a) They almost certainly leaked the information about the goodbye video, seeing as that side of the family were the only people who initially saw it. They almost certainly aren't in contact with Bryer's dad due to the history, and he didn't know what was in the video or where Bryer's remains were which further indicates they're not in contact, so he definitely didn't leak it. I think that was out of frustration to try to get the public to pressure the RCMP to release more information -- I can't think of any other motive why they would leak that information.
b) The RCMP said after the bodies were found that they would release the report to the families, and then to the public immediately thereafter. So whatever they get is going to be a short time before we get it.
c) The RCMP clearly had a pattern of not releasing any more information to them than the public was getting. Three weeks after Kam and Bryer were named as suspects in Lucas and Chynna's murders, they were still not told why the RCMP believed the murders were linked. So why would that pattern suddenly change?
d) I don't believe that the RCMP told Bryer's dad anything, from the way he was talking about it. Like for example saying we don't know where the guns came from. In the interview he seems to accept that Bryer did it, with his statements about how he lost hope and all that. It's just the why and how that he wants answers to. I don't know how anyone could watch that interview and get the impression that he was told in detail about what happened.
The interviewer even mentioned how the public was frustrated with the lack of information and he basically said, "If you guys are frustrated at the lack of information, you have no idea my level of frustration."
