You are a level ten legend, thanks Otto!
The very first report was that the witness saw two people "scuffling" around at the dump. He wasn't sure what he was seeing. He checked the suspect's description and confirmed the description matched the people scavenging at the dump.
The suspects apparently were unconcerned about the witness and his vehicle, and after the witness confirmed their identities, they ran into the trees. That's hard to believe. The suspects would have been watching for vehicles in the distance and disappeared before anyone could get close enough to confirm that they were the suspects.
The Bear Clan people, who are not local, may just be mistaken. The big problems with this sighting are the clothing, given the weather, and what would be involved in walking to York Landing. The scenario screams out hypothermia. For whatever reason, no doubt based on interviews with these witnesses, analysis and the results of the search overnight and today, the RCMP appear to have lost confidence in this sighting being correct.
From jump this story has been mesmerizing. At this point most of us are borderline obsessed.![]()
This never really made any sense to me.. why would a guy who's running from LE trying to stay low murder two people in BC? From what i've read it sounds like he's wanted for a single murder in the states, its not like we're talking about a serial killer where this fits a pattern or anything
It’s fairly warm at night, 11 to 15 celsius. If they can stay dry there is no risk of hypothermia

@otto, the last winter map listed (entire region) shows the RR lines including stops along with major non winter roads. Heading towards Thompson and points W/SW makes alot of sense as if you then are able to jack a car you could get to Winnipeg with no issues via hwy on a straight shot S or head W.Here is the Manitoba Winter Road map which includes the area where the RAV4 was burned:

This is an incredible network of roads and the maps also show the RR through the region.
That would be a truck topper!I haven't been picturing an over-cab camper. I've been picturing the type that only covers the bed. I think there were pictures. Anyone know where to find pictures?
Boy, that was fast! Thanks Minn!
Remind you of a road construction site ?
I like #1 or #4!
The thing that distracts me from #1 is the extremely heavy police presence in N Manitoba. I find it difficult to fathom that the RCMP would be spending so much time and money to focus on that area. There has to be something they are not sharing with the public to keep all resources in one place for so long. JMO
That’s just tonight, look at the weather over the last seven days. Out in the open, without proper clothing, they would be dead by now.
