WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: Amber Hildebrandt reports: "The Crown describes video taken in the evening with Jessica Lloyd fully clothed. The duct has been removed from her eyes. Later on the duct tape is put over her eyes and mouth again. At one point, after Lloyd gets up Williams strikes her on the the head with a flashlight. He then strangled her with rope until she stopped moving. Williams then drove back to CFB Trenton around 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. Williams slept at CFB Trenton because he had an early flight to California. He returned later to continue working in his office and then went to Ottawa. When he finally returned home, he drove Lloyd's body away."

Police viewed Williams as a suspect. They followed him to a car wash where he cleaned out his car.

Officers stopped vehicles at a road block to look at tire tread. On Feb. 4, Williams was pulled over for questioning.

Police soon realized the sexual assaults, Comeau's murder and the break-ins were connected.

I do not understand why they let him plead, with all this evidence being presented it is the same as a US trial almost. He really deserves death. They should let him wear only his stolen undies and teddies, in general population. He should be raped everyday that he lives.Sick Scum 🤬🤬🤬.I bet he used Viagra to be able to keep raping these poor women.

It is his right in Canada as a defendant to plead guilty. It is very uncommon for anyone be charged with first degree murder to actually plead guilty. It isn't going to change the outcome at all, it saves the taxpayers the expensive of a trial, and it saves the courts time so they don't bog down a court room to hear all this information. Unfortunately, he won't be in general population, they will keep him isolated.

At 6:21, police confronted Williams. They were on the verge of executing search warrants at his home.

Williams gave consent to take his DNA, blackberry and boot tread.

Eventually, Williams agreed to come into the Elgin Street police station in Ottawa. Interview began at 3:03 P.M.

Amber Hildebrandt reports: "Police decided to start a checkpoint. Williams was stopped at 6:57 a.m. within minutes of the canvas being set up. He said he regularly travelled on the highway and admitted to being on HWY 37 on the night of LLoyd's disappearance. Williams was now seen as a suspect and police began conducting surveillance on him. They saw him vacuuming and cleaning his SUV. The contents of the vaccum were seized by police. Once police obtained a search warrant they invited Williams to be interviewed. They questioned him about the two sexual assaults, Comeau's death and Lloyd's disappearance."

Greg McArthur - He showed, and then took the officer, to the location of Ms. Lloyd's body. He also confessed to the murder of Ms. Comeau, and the attacks on his neighbours. Greg McArthur - Col. Williams avoided confessing at first, but after being confronted with the boot print, and persistent questioning from Det. Sgt. Smyth, the colonel told the officer: "I want to minimize the impact on my wife." He told the officer to get a map.

I don't believe she had been buried. Everything we have been reading has been incredibly detailed. Had RW taken a shovel and buried poor JL, this info would have been included. Probably just another reporter error.

Interview:

One of the crucial and most interesting investigative elements for police nailing the case against Williams is being dealt with now.

When Williams became a suspect in the disappearance of Jessica Lloyd, he was asked to come to an Ottawa Ontario Provincial Police office for a meeting.

On Feb. 7, he was interviewed by OPP Det-Insp. Jim Smyth from the force's behavioural science section.

It was a masterful performance by the brainy cop because Williams not only admitted to kidnapping Ms. Lloyd but to killing her and also to doing the same to Cpl. Comeau, who worked at Williams' air base.

As well, he told police that he was the perpetrator of two home invasion and sexual assaults.

He then led police to her body in a wooded area.

It was during subsequent interviews that he also admitted to 82 fetish break and enters.

ITA - I also recall from yesterday, one reporter said 186 items, and one report said 168 items were taken from a house....I'm assuming someone transposed the numbers at some point - though I have no idea which one is right, both seem like an excessive amount of lingerie to me...JMO
