They were married 19 years and had been living in Orleans, Ottawa since 1995 (?)

RW was the Wing Comdr. at Trenton ONLY since July 15th, 2009

lingerie thefts started in 2007

from reading the transcripts, IMO it becomes very clear that he has some kind of 'problem' IYKWIM. A wife of 19 years would surely have taken notice of that, unless of course, he blamed it on her.

IMO MEH and RW were not the average couple, they did not have 9-5 jobs which would give them every evening together. They bought the cottage in 2004, so who knows how often they were apart or together. They both had busy careers. Prior to RW becoming Col. he was flying around the world as a pilot, we have not seen an itinerary of his life, therefore, we have no idea how often he was home. She would also have a busy itinerary, therefore, we have no idea how often she was home...

He would carry her luggage into their home when she returned from the airport on one of the many trips she made as associate executive director of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

The Great Betrayal: When ‘perfectly normal’ isn’t

At home, the couple doted on their black-and-white cat, Curio. “That was their baby,” says Fraser. “They didn’t have any children; they were crazy for the cat.”

When Curio died, Harriman and Williams adopted a new black-and-white kitten from the Ottawa Humane Society and named her Rosebud. (In the movie Citizen Kane, Rosebud is the name of media baron Charles Foster Kane’s beloved childhood sled that he pines for on his deathbed.)

I still have some lingering concerns about RW. I wonder if there are other victims who never called police who may have been assaulted by him. Bernardo raped someone who never called police and his friends were in the home for a party when it happened. PB really got away with so much for so long and he just kept going. Williams kept news clippings and screen shots of the media reports of the crimes that were reported. I wonder if there are others? I really think he would enjoy the fact that he got away with some of his crimes if they weren't reported. He could savour that fact that he and the possible other victim(s) were the only ones who knew. He took those screenshots while he took a photo of himself smiling. If there weren't any news clippings to save, there may not be any evidence on his computer about it. He also stated that he destroyed some of the items he stole from his break and enters. Maybe he destroyed evidence from crimes never reported?

For the reasons above ^^^^, I don't think LE should destroy the evidence of the crimes, in case there are other undisclosed crimes.

Isn't all the evidence that they currently have already documented by RW? I thought it was all accounted for and matched up to known break-ins. Could be wrong.

(respectfully snipped by me)

OMG! Let's hope not. It would be awful if someone claims he fathered a child :( like in PB's case.

(RSBM) (BBM)

What? I haven't heard this before. Was it ever proved that PB was the father? Do you have a link? I have read more scary stories in the past week than all the rest of my life and this adds yet another.

It would be helpful if you gave a sample line or two from the quoted article and/or a short description of what it contains. If I'm not mistaken, it's one of the WS rules. TIA

sorry..didn't realize that was the rule...:innocent:

I think I speak for alot of people....WE ALL HATE HIM!!!!!!!

I do not think negative thoughts towards you or anyone in a military uniform, I hope your "ashamed" feelings diminish soon. You should feel proud to suit up, if anyone feels negative towards it, they are shallow! RW was not the military, he was ONE twisted soul in a uniform. We have all seen police officers charged with major crimes, we do not put the blame on all officers. The same would go with anyone working at WalMart, if a Walmart employee committed a major crime, we would not blame WalMart. Anyone who is blaming the military needs to give their head a shake. I am proud of our Canadian Military![/QUOTE]
``````````````````````````````````````````````````
My bold above & below
I love and am soooooooooo proud of all our Canadian military The despicable actions of one does not taint our brave bunch!!
I hate the actions of Colonel Russell Williams !! The shocking predator behaviours. His escalating rapes, torture and horrific murders of Corporal Marie-France Comeau & Jessica Lloyd.
Indeed he was...ONE twisted soul in uniform and just because a despicable convicted sex killer Colonel Russell Williams was stripped of his rank as Colonel and booted out of the military doesn't mean...he wasn't once Colonel Russell Williams.
The vile and evil come from all walks of life... despite the fact his "privileged title & rank" was/may have been lost on conviction, he will forever remain a reminder to the public...that evil can & does come from ANY title/rank/position in society.
:praying:God Bless the Families of all the victims
:canada:God Bless our BRAVE military
:leaf2:God Bless Canada :moose:as we heal from this nightmare of EVIL.
Russell Williams enters a 'grim' existence in Kingston Penitentiary
Early psychological treatment or training programs for Williams are unlikely, said Baillie and Bryant, who note space in programs are limited and reserved for those closer to release
Williams would likely be in the segregation unit for his own safety, said Bryant, adding prison officials have an obligation to take care of everyone — they can't pick and choose.
That doesn't mean Williams is free from the risk of physical harm.
Bernardo has been attacked and harassed at the prison. He was punched in the face by another inmate while returning from a shower in 1996. In June 1999, five convicts tried to storm the segregation range where he lives and a riot squad had to use gas to disperse them
As sick as this sounds, the bolded portion makes me smile!!!!!!
There is always a chance with date rape drugs nowadays that some victims of sexual assaults may not even know they've been assaulted, or may only have vague memories if they recall anything.
I betting that RW will comply with all of the shrinks to find out why he acted upon his urges like he did at the age of 40 and beyond. Why did it progress to assaults, rapes and murders? What snapped in his brain?
I also believe that he is perfectly sane and also wonders why he did what he did. He has nothing to lose by assisting, and everything to gain.
There was just no way for DND to be able to predict that this man was capable of doing such heinous things - and there never will be. It makes me sad when I hear people try to pin the blame on not catching this earlier in the military.
I've been in the Air Force for almost 20 years, and for the first time, I'm ashamed to wear my uniform in public. I hate him. :(
After reading this line in the article, I thought of your post:
The uniform did not commit these crimes — the man in the uniform did, the carnal beast, the reprehensible villain that cloaked himself in honour to prey on his own flock.
Yes, that is what he claimed. He cataloged and documented. He also stated that he destroyed items. If he kept no evidence or trophies or some crimes, will he admit to these crimes he may have committed? He loved to read about his crimes in the news, if there was no report than maybe he could have gotten rid of evidence or trophies of these unreported crimes without any one knowing any better. There are people who can be so frightened or humiliated to not report to the police if their lives were threatened, or the lives of their children. JMO
I would too if I were MEH.
However, with that said, I have to add that we ASSUME its MEH being referred to in the article. And while it likely IS, its purely speculative. Who is to say that RW didn't have a lady or several on the side that we've yet to hear about? Alternatively, its possible that random women across the nation are lining up to make requests for conjugal visits. We've all heard of the nutters who write to prisoners, fall in "love", visit, get married to prisoners and take on conjugal visits -- so why not with RW? Sure, any woman would be so lucky to have a chance with this guy (note my sarcasm!). Hey - I've heard Ms. Holmoka might be first in the sicko line.
FYI, only those who are related to an inmate are eligible for conjugal visits; therefore "random women" would not be allowed conjugal visits with RW.
<snipped>
In Canada, all inmates, with the exception of those on disciplinary restrictions or at risk for family violence, are permitted "Private Family Visits" of up to 72 hours' duration once every two months. Eligible visitors, who may not themselves be prison inmates, are: spouse, or common-law partner of at least six months; children; parents; foster parents; siblings; grandparents; and "persons with whom, in the opinion of the institutional head, the inmate has a close familial bond." Food is provided by the institution but paid by the inmates and visitors, who are also responsible for cleaning the unit after the visit. During a visit, staff members have regular contact with the inmate and visitors.[3]
The link below details what Paul Bernardo's prison cell is like, and offers information regarding a prisoner's stay at prisons within North America. RW is noted to be placed in the same prison as Bernardo, and will therefore likely have a similar existance. I was previously unaware that there is plexiglass around Bernardo's cell in addition to the bars that house him -- these are in place for his own protection. Its an interesting link if you have little or no real concept of what a prisoner really goes through. Certainly I'm not suggesting they deserve better -- please don't take it that way! Rather, I just found it to be an interesting site to learn more about the prison system.
This second link discusses the incidence of rape in prison amongst inmates. Its an interesting look at how other prisoners choose a rape victim. This also discusses prison prostitution. I had no idea that prisoners in Texas were most at risk!
