Dotr, when I first saw the underwear pics of Williams, I thought he was "modeling" at his own house. But no, he was doing this in the homes that he broke into! And with all the break-ins, he never got caught in the act. The guy was so meticulous and calculating. Of course, his tires gave him away in the end. However, if Williams was driving his BMW the day of the roadblock, he might very well still be in business.

It has not been definitively stated where those photos were taken. No one has said if he took photos in his own home in Orleans, the house in Tweed, the Westboro house, the commander's house at CFB Trenton, the office at CFB Trenton, or other properties owned by him/other relatives. Not every photograph of RW has been released to the public.

I wonder if he misses those medals. How many did he have again, two? His last hurrah was not stripping, but being stripped of those medals. The next chance he gets to strip for an audience might have the word "search" attached to it.

I hardly think he was ashamed of what he was doing, or why would he have photographed himself so many times and so thoroughly?

Appearing on the front page of newspapers around the world is something that probably appeals to an exhibitionist with an inflated ego. I just can't quite figure out who is the audience for snuff films, etc.

OTTAWA - A majority of Canadians say former colonel Russell Williams' guilty pleas on rape and murder charges haven't affected their opinion of the military, according to an exclusive QMI Agency poll.

When asked what best represented their attitude about how the case affected their view of the Canadian military, 59% of people polled said the case had no impact on their opinion. About one in five, or 23%, said it hurt their opinion of the Canadian Forces, and 4% said it actually improved their view. Another 13% said they didn't know enough to have an opinion

Here is the article I was looking for:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...th-such-ferocious-drive/article1762799/page2/

"Not only did he take pictures of himself in the stolen gear, but he also took further pictures, probably tens of thousands, of his prizes. He photographed them as collections, and as individual pieces, all downloaded into files on hard drives he kept in the Ottawa home.

Many times, he photographed these stolen items at the Ottawa home, whiling away Saturday mornings."

I wonder where MEH was while he was "whiling away".

I should have prefaced my above comment with "If we are to assume that the above is true ..."

(SB is in CYA mode ;))

as usual another error in reporting...He took over as base commander JULY 2009 not 2008 as reported in this article.. I wish White would keep his mouth shut...

The author is not a reporter, but a neighbor. Little twists to the truth do tend to ruin a person's credibility.

I am wondering what he will say in next week's installment.

There is no follow-up article at the EMC. The first installment is dated Nov 4 2010 and the last archived article of the EMC is ... Nov 4 2010.

Well, techically we don't know the history of the pictures that were released. However, I've read many articles stating that Williams would take photos of himself in the homes that he invaded, sometimes spending hours at a house, posing in underwear, masturbating and lying in the beds. According to reports, he even stripped naked before breaking into some of the homes. This guy was deranged, and bold too. The case will be studied by the shrinks and cops for years to come.

Doesn't it make you want to read the next installment? I sure do. Next week, or is that this week?

The photos that were released to the public were very few in number. According to the newspaper column (link posted above), the columnist says that there were thousands of photos, possibly tens of thousands.

We do not know the locations of any of the photos that were released. We do not know the locations of any of the photos that were not released.

Summersoltice, I know that Williams had thousands of pictures, but as I mentioned before, I've read lots of articles stating that he lingered in the homes, photographing himself, etc. Maybe the press has it wrong? Of course, the risk aspect of Williams exploits was probably a big part of his "turn on." Perhaps I'm going out on a limb, but I'd say a large number of the photos were taken inside the homes of his victims.

LOL ... west coast brain just awakening here. Didn't realize it isn't Nov 11 yet. Late to bed, early to rise, makes a human extremely dazed.

Not disagreeing with you. I would like to point out that with the tens of thousands of photographs the newspaper columnist says might have been taken, there are possibly multiple locations, including other possibilities than were previously stated in the media. It would be illogical to exclude those other possibilities.

I forgot about the doorbell ringing mystery, when this woman was ALONE WITH HER CHILDREN.
http://www2.canada.com/story.html?id=2785772
Voula Caloca, who also lives on Steller Street, remembers her doorbell would ring at night when she was home alone with the kids. It became less frequent after police began surveillance in the neighbourhood, she said. Now she wonders if it was the colonel at her door checking to see if she was home.

I was thinking exactly the same Macright! :rolling:
Is he trying to confuse things or are they trying to re-write history? Actually, article contains many mistakes :
Russ was on what us old Air Force types called the "promotion train." In 2008, he was promoted to the rank of Colonel. His days in Ottawa were coming to an end as
in July 2008 (should read July 2009) Russ was appointed Base Commander at CFB Trenton. Again, I was invited to attend the Change of Command ceremony and reception, which I did.

Mary Elizabeth remained at their home in Orléans, Russ spending his weekdays
at their cottage they had recently bought in Tweed, (recently bought? all other reports say cottage was bought in 2004) a 45-minute commute to CFB Trenton. On the weekends, Russ would return to his Wilkie Dr. home or Mary Elizabeth would drive down to their cottage in Tweed.

So life went on and in 2009, they sold their home in Orléans (should read something like, one month after being named Base CO at CFB, they sold their home in Orleans) and had a new house built in the west part of Ottawa, finally being able to move in (after many construction delays)
around November. (all other papers said December 17, 2009)

I was the one that stated in various newspapers at the time that "I would suspect the Pope before Russ" (a statement that some misinterpreted).
What is there to misinterpret? LOL ~ my interpretation is that Mr. White would suspect the Pope before he would suspect Russ ~ how else could that statement be interpreted?

I wonder why the courts released those particular pics of him in the lingerie out of all of them.

Did they just grab the first ones they saw? Blech.

I remember a caption under a couple of pictures saying "unknown location", and made me wonder where could those picture had been taken, since LE contacted all B&E victims listed on RW's spreadsheet, I assume they would have been able to identify each and every location.

Another thing that I have been wondering about is if he used a tripod when photographig himself, like for example, this picture looks like it was taken from a higher place than all the others.
If we didn't know better, it would appear as if someone else is taking this particular pic.

OMG, he looks so RIDICULOUS. Jeeze.

He could have placed the camera on a buffet shelf - it looks like it may have been a dining room he took it in.
