Reviewing the Agreed Statement of Facts, as summarized by The Toronto Star, and a couple things stuck out to me, and reminded me why LE is still heavily investigating RW.

1. He is a liar.
2. He covered up his crimes by burning evidence.

10. Further police investigation also revealed that,contrary to Mr. Williams’ stated age preference, females under the age of 18 were either the sole or joint targets of Mr. Williams in 13 of the homes he broke into.

6. When he accumulated too many items, he would dispose of them,including on two occasions (June 21st, 2008 and March 29th, 2009) where he brought items to different fields just outside of Ottawa and burned them.

He had accumulated too many items by June 21st 2008? When did he admit to starting to break in to the homes and taking items? If he already had too many things by June 2008 then there could be other crimes he is covering up and who knows what those things are? He chose which info to divulge to the police buased on what the police found out. I believe that there could be other crimes.

If you can stand to read the vileness in the Agreed Statement of Facts, you will see many instances of lies made by RW, with respect to his crimes.

He admitted 2 break-in's for this particular victim.

However, the 3rd folder on RW's computer for that victim, contained 78 photos dated May 13th-27th, 2008. So much for the admitted 2 break-in's.

The newspaper clippings of his victims at the local Legion, taking his victim tubing behind a boat numerous times, hiring his victim to cat-sit.....so many elements to his crimes.

27. Mr. Williams admitted to Det. Sgt. Smyth that he broke into XX Cara Cres. on 2 occasions. The first was on May 9th, 2008, when he broke into the home through an open window. He stole 15 pieces of lingerie (panties and bras). He downloaded the photos he took of this occurrence onto his computer into 3 subfolders. The first contained 17 photos dated May 10th, 2008, from 1:03-1:16 a.m. The pictures show the inside of the daughter’s bedroom. These photos show pictures on the wall and trophies and plaques with the daughter’s name on them, and clothing (mainly lingerie) in drawers, the closet, a clothes hamper and on the floor. A second folder contains 18 photos dated May 11th, 2008 and show the items of lingerie he stole from the daughter. A third folder contained 78 photos dated May 13th-27th, 2008. These photos show Mr. Williams wearing the lingerie he stole.

I am of the belief that his crimes ( collection of panties etc) began long before 2007. I think he only started keeping his records in 2007. Most reports state there were thousands of pieces found in his collection and he was supposed to have burned some so where did all the items come from..I consider myself to have an excessive number of underwear etc. but I certainly would notice if some of them were missing because it seems he took many from each home he broke into yet we are led to believe that most of these people did not notice anything missing until notified by police. If there were only 82 homes involved and his collection held thousands ? of pieces...well something doesn't seem to add up ...was he also buying lingerie to satisfy his fettish..

the daughter was his close neighbour..her parents would have him and MEH over for dinner etc and he would play with her in the water... and it seems she did a school report on him and I believe he had known her since she was 12..she also had a key to his house and would feed his cat etc..

I also would love to know your theory...most in the Ottawa area where I live and where some of these B&E's took place seem to think that MEH was aware of something amiss but won't go as far as including the murders..that much I agree with..

Powerful people in top jobs also seem to have extraordinary libidos (actors, actresses, celebrities, captains of industry, presidents). Clearly, MH could not satisfy RW's kinky libido and probably turned a blind eye to any irregularities.

It looks like Appleby jumped the gun with his book to be the first out of the gate. No doubt there will be others that go into the inevitable divorce and law suits. I'm sure MH is not looking forward something like that, hence the plea for a publication ban.

Does she regret filing that complaint about her hardwood floors? Was it done in a moment of hysterical desperation, before the details of her husband’s crimes had sunk in?

Well, according to the records, it was not done in ONE brief moment. Not sure how brief a moment can it be to decide and go file a complaint. I imagine making "follow-up calls" would take a few more "moments", maybe spread out in a few days/weeks? Then, there is the "moment" to receive the cheque. Plus the "moment" to actually go and deposit the cheque, right?

According to a provincial government source and records, Harriman made more than one call to complain about the scratched floor.

I was just commenting on what the Mcleans article said, quoting those two friends of him, of what RW said on his wedding day, when asked about having children. From those comments, it appears to me that he (or more likely "them") had already decided not to have children.

Sorry JayFriend, had to re-quote you in order to separate topics. Re the sentence I have bolded, are you saying others could potentially write books about the divorce and law suits? Now that would be a very boring book, don't you think? IMO, I don't think the reason for the plea for a publication ban is to prevent someone from potentially writing a book, but that is JMHO

As for the underwear, it all depended on the scene of the crime.

In Orléans, he stuffed his souvenirs into computer boxes in the basement—boxes he knew Harriman would never look in.

In Tweed, his hiding place was a green military duffel bag, the kind that soldiers and airmen keep packed in case of a short-notice assignment. Why would Harriman ever think to look inside?
