Abuse of authority is the first thought that comes to mind.
Abuse of authority is the first thought that comes to mind.
Typical - first the USA shouts about how they'll get even, then ... much later ... they consider the consequences.Yep less harm to our whales along the coast . Lol it would kinda kill the ships to Alaska don't they start their cruise to Alaska from here pretty sure the cruise my sis went on to Alaska started in Vancouver.
The USA spends too much money. Their solution to their problem is to increase USA cost of living by imposing tariffs on all other countries and suffering retaliatory tariffs. Any country that gives the USA control over some aspect of that country will have reduced tariffs. What a deal!
Paterson said the American plan is to impose tariffs by sector across countries all around the world on April 2. From there, the countries that get along with the U.S. the best will be "first in line" to adjust or mitigate the tariffs.
The concern over Carney's multiple citizenships was raised in the article posted above from the mainstream Canadian media.
Carney had acquired Irish citizenship through his family ancestry and got his U.K. passport while working overseas as the governor of the Bank of England.
He has said that, while many MPs have multiple citizenships, "as prime minister, I should only hold one."
Indeed, several million Canadians report holding more than one citizenship, while very few prime ministers have done the same.
Having ties to more than one country can complicate a politician's life.
"It's less complicated if you just have one citizenship," said Kathy Brock, a professor emerita of politics at Queen's University. Being entrusted with state secrets can prompt voter concerns about loyalties if more than one citizenship is in the mix, she says, and that's separate from any attacks from political opponents along the same lines.

Absolutely nailed it.I read these simply as opinions and statements of fact, not as concerns to those who wrote them or to the Canadian public.
I personally don't know a single Canadian who has concerns about Prime Minister Mark Carney's Irish or UK citizenships. As others have explained these are Commonwealth countries, with our important values being "democracy, human rights, and the rule of law". Although he is not required to do so, but true to his statement of only holding one, he has already set about relinquishing (vs renouncing) his Irish and UK citizenship for the good of our country when it is in need of great, solid leadership. I find that most honourable but sad because he doesn't have to relinquish anything. He has relatives in both those other countries, but is relinquishing at personal expense because he cares deeply about the current economic threats and war-like aggression that has been initiated toward Canada by the president of the USA. Canada did nothing to warrant what has been launched against it, and I am glad that, in my opinion, we will have the leadership that can not only stand ground against the economic bullying and threats of annexation, but lead our sovereign country through the greatest threat our generation has experienced.
While I find it hard to understand, I accept that some others are standing up for their own country and their own leadership. IMO Carney is brilliant, and I find it nigh impossible to make even a close comparison between the accomplishments and experience he brings to the distinguished office as Prime Minister of Canada compared to what some are willing to accept or have resigned themselves to in other countries.

I don't think he needed British citizenship to get the UK job but depending on other aspects of living in UK he may have decided he and his family would stay.Obviously, his parents perhaps were born in the UK and Ireland..... and most likely, he , being entitled to do so, felt., due to the complete schemozzle British passports are now in ( he would have had that UKK one to get the job with the bank of England __ ) and Irish passport is the handiest thing to have,, One of the amusing footnotes to Brexit is the sheer amount of people in England who discovered an Irish grandparent, and having never admitted to any Irishness before , suddenly ran to the passport office to declare themselves as Irish as Paddy's pig.
Ir saves time in the airport queue... a very great deal of time when you want to go to Europe after you said you want to have nothing to do with it !
Wholesale egg prices in the U.S. are reaching record highs, partly due to an outbreak of avian flu. On his first day in office, Trump promised to lower egg prices, but by February, the first full month of his tenure, prices had increased by 59% compared to the previous year. Some stores are now facing egg shortages, leading them to impose sales limits.
I hope we aren't sending eggs over to the USA lol I like to bake
Ha. The store I go to has plenty of eggs, different brands, organic brands and regular. There have been a couple times when it was sparse, but that would be due to not delivered. Haven't seen any limits. or just didn't notice. The regular store brand label dozen is about $5, the organic ones are up to 10.. oooeeee. a dozen. I remember getting them for about 5, so really prob all have doubled priced. There are tons of egg farms in this area , home ones. All the egg brands in the egg case are all from USA. midwest.. etc.. on the labels. Massachusetts. People pay well over that for a bag of junk chips and soda so I have no sympathy for the whiners. I hear them and see their carriages with junk food, lots of it. I don't of course, understand the need for importing eggs as in my regular chain groc store, large chain, they are always there really, stocked. People flipped out about their eggs, and I would say, how about the people that work at those infected flu places, job and hours lost too. Smaller places in financial trouble, poor sick chickens too, till they were gone due to it.I hope we aren't sending eggs over to the USA lol I like to bake
Clearly, Trump is unable to grasp the fundamentals of the EU system of production and distrubution of goods and produce. . It is why the EU actually exists, to regulate trade and distribution across nations with the least amount of delay and disturbance, something Britain is finding out in the most horrible way. . There are no spare eggs because egg production is regulated so that approx amount of eggs required is the amount of eggs produced at a reasonable price for the consumer and the producer..
That's a big surprise! Good to see which states need to be targeted first.I don't know this source so I don't advise to download the app, but I think the map is interesting. It is what we, Americans, import from Csnada and Mexico.

Mapped: Which U.S. States Import the Most From Canada and Mexico?
With Trump's 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico, which states are most dependent on their North American neighbors for imports?www.visualcapitalist.com

It's just like supply management of dairy in Canada. There is no similar management in the USA. The USA is angry that other countries manage supply and demand of food because it means that the USA cannot over-produce and then dump surplus at a lower price in foreign countries.Clearly, Trump is unable to grasp the fundamentals of the EU system of production and distrubution of goods and produce. . There are no excesses or wastage or sudden shortages, or instant price rises, under this well oiled and operative system of trade, among nations who wish to co -operate and consequently, thrive and prosper...
This is but one glaring example of how unbusiness like Trump really is, he is not a businessmans shoelace...

I know eggs are used in tons of things though, baked goods through commercial factories, cookies, cereals probably, so large manufacturing companies are the ones that must be begging for the imports..
