I can afford eggs and I’d never buy an EV. That hasn’t changed. I’m slightly amused to see Tesla owners destroying their own property. It’s sad to see them throwing it in the water as that affects the environment. imo

Well if they're affordable for one person than I guess the rest of us just have to suck it up.

The world needs more of this, not cranky greedy old men selling teslas at the Whitehouse.

"The leader of the U.K.'s Liberal Democrats has bungee-jumped off a giant crane to rally voters, shovelled sheep manure on a Welsh farm to protest tax hikes for farmers and tumbled off a paddle board to underscore the risk of raw sewage in British waterways.

But now, with U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff war in full flight, Davey is trying to rally British voters to a new cause: supporting Canada.

For his latest political stunt, on Wednesday, Davey burst through a Canada flag at a Canadian-themed pub in central London and invited local media to dine with him on a menu of Canadian poutine, Beaver Tails and Canadian beer.

"I want to make sure that people know that British people stand with Canada," Davey told CBC News at the impromptu event at the Maple Leaf pub in Covent Garden.

Trump can't even think for himself. He's parroting Putin! Trump even mimics Putin's financial number, which are untrue regarding Canada. He copied and pasted Putin's words then substituted Canada for Ukraine.

"Many people in Canada LOVE being the 51st State," Donald Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social on Jan. 6.
...

Canadians' supposed secret desire to be annexed might sound familiar to Russians who have heard their leader make similar claims about Ukrainians, says Maria Popova, an expert on Russian politics at McGill University.
...

Like Trump extolling the economic wonders of a U.S.-Canada annexation ("what a great Nation it would be!!!"), Putin said a combined Russia and Ukraine would be much better off. "Together we have always been and will be many times stronger and more successful," wrote Putin. "We are natural complementary economic partners."
...

"Ukraine is an artificial state," Putin told Tucker Carlson in an interview in February 2024. The U.S.-Canada border is an "artificially drawn line," Trump said in a Jan. 7 news conference.
...

"Canada has been very tough to deal with over the years, and it's not fair that we should have a $200 billion or $250 billion deficit," he claimed on his third full day in office.

"Our Ukrainian colleagues turned to us for financial support from the moment they declared independence," he claimed. "According to expert assessments … the overall benefit for the Ukrainian budget amounted to $250 billion."
...
on and on

Yeah we do!!!! 😍

Trump should be locked away for the safety of mankind. He is a liar, unpredictable and dangerous.
How can a government stand by and let him do what he is doing? And how do people believe the absolute crap that spews from his mouth??!

Wondering if any evidence to support this has turned up? Yet? Or if it might?

Is there any word or speculation that maybe someone is driving the market down so someone could ‘short’?

And no I am not a wise investor or stock manipulator or the like. Just watching a number of investments slide. And not uphill. SMH. MOO

Musk is the inside man calling the shots, and he was not required to put his investments in a blind trust while he manipulates the market. He's the man who will be selling short and, since he is not under any confidentiality agreements, he can share futures markets with his friends.

I agree 1000%, but elected Democrats are pretty spineless. JMO

I think there is more going on below the surface than we think.
Not that I am excusing Dems.... I have been pretty angry with them.
BUT.. with all the ping ponging going on in that White House.... should they call him out on each ping, or each pong>?
It's more like waiting to see what will be the BEST defence going forward, rather than responding to the back and forth.

We shall see... maybe no backbone, but maybe building ammunition.

One day in the not-too-far-distant-future they will realise that the two bags of groceries that used to cost themT $50 now costs $90.

Actually, these are the inflation numbers that we've been dealing with over the last year under the Biden administration. The example you give of dollar amounts are exactly what we've been paying with the Biden administration inflation. It's incorrect to say that Biden left the economy in good shape. Our grocery bills and other consumer goods and services have skyrocketed under Biden.

"The most potent weapon wielded by the Trump administration to advance the cause of annexation would likely not be the intelligence agencies directed by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

"I would regard Mr. Musk as a problem," said Ward Elcock, who headed CSIS for a decade including during the 9/11 attacks and also served as national security adviser. "I think that's on a number of fronts.""

Those fronts mainly being his ability to control algorithms of hate with X, and it's influence over other social media platforms.

https://www.bayshorebroadcasting.ca/2025/03/10/195167/. Chapman gives an example of potential supplier changes, explaining they have sourced their nuts from the United States, “We’re quite lucky in the sense that historically, the United States has has very excellent quality nuts so pecans, walnuts, almonds, everything you can possibly imagine. They’re very high quality and it’s really quite easy to bring them up from the United States. Now with the 25 per cent tariff, suddenly they are not competitive in any way, shape or form. A good example would be almonds and pistachios where we’re currently looking at bringing them in from Italy, which prior to this ridiculous trade war, shipping them over in cargo containers in a ship was not something we wanted to deal with when it was so much easier to get from the states at a lower cost, but with these 25 per cent tariffs suddenly Italian, Spanish nut meats are actually quite affordable in comparison with the shipping.”

Perhaps short selling stocks AND being ready to snap up all that federal infrastructure and properties that have been 'cancelled' by DOGE. I'm sure that he and his fellow billionaires, and some millionaires too will amke the most of that!!
And, that is how Russia came to have it's Oligarchs. Precisely because they were the ones in the know and snapped up all the Sovier State infrastructure when that USSR Regime collapsed. Dirt cheap. Made 'em rich and even richer. They use those riches to fund their political partner now. They still aren't paying taxes either!

That's where we've seen this playbook before.

Some more here

Those who forget the past ... IMO

As for Poilievre, don't forget he's been endorsed by Musk, and certainly didn't renounce it.

That would be me, mostly conservative Albertan, but Pierre has not distinguished himself since trump decided Canada is the enemy. He has lost my confidence.
Additionally, I can’t help but like Carney. When I heard him speak on Sunday it was the first glimmer of hope I’ve felt in ages. The economist in him shone through. There are moments he reminds me of…are you ready for it? … Stephen Harper.
Honestly, as an Albertan, I’m sick of the war with Ottawa. I just think, given where we are today, there are better ways.
IMO

Those politicians South of the border should wake up and have some courage. Soon it will be late.

I have considered this and hope you are right.

And guess what? They're continuing to go up under Trump thanks to his tariffs. And the only thing he's doing about that is telling people to shut up about egg prices.

I just went to the store. 12 eggs cost $9 and 18 eggs cost $13.50. Thanks Trump

I was really impressed with 91 year old Jean Chretien, and it sounded like Carney was listening to him. Carney repeated some of what Chretien said. Build infrastructure, ships, military to create jobs, find new trade partners, build a pipeline from Alberta to Quebec, and more. Carney has to act before the federal election. Liberal promises will no longer be believed.

Chretien spoke French when talking about Trump, English when he was talking to Trump. He said something like: from one old guy to another, stop the nonsense. He's got a great sense of humour!

Carney will protect Canada's natural environment and deal with the USA federal government tariffs.
