There is a US Air Force base there. The can hang out there and have MAGA rallies inside the quonset huts.

"The US Air Force base in Greenland, now known as Pituffik Space Base, is located 750 miles above the Arctic Cirle, on the lovely northwest coast of Greenland. It is about 1180 miles from the nearest land in Canada, so we can rest safe knowing that Canadian aggression will not reach the delegation at the Air Base. I was thinking it was very close to some parts of Canada, close enough for the Canuks to throw empty beer bottles at them.

It looks to be sunny, when the sun is over the horizon. t looks to be getting a relatively normal 13 hours of daylight right now. That must be making people happy. A high next week of -3F and a low of -14 F.

Lovely spring weather.

Nah, Thule (Pituffik) is about 350 miles southwest of Canadian Forces Sation Alert. Been to both; it's a whole closer to Canada than that too BTW.

Our nearest town to it would be Grise Fiord at about 150 miles.

IMO.

almost close enough to hit with an empty bottle

Cross-border trips to the U.S. reach COVID lows with nearly 500,000 fewer travellers in February

"Nearly 500,000 fewer travellers crossed the land border from Canada into the U.S. in February compared to the same month last year

The fact that the current flow of travellers is at the same level as when travel was much more arduous is revealing, experts say.

Len Saunders is an immigration lawyer in Blaine WA ....... "Canadians are voting with their wallets right now. That's what's happening" .... "We're only two months into a four-year administration. If they keep this up there will be no Canadians coming down here — there will be a 100 per cent boycott of this country" "

Well the water is coming from Canada, flowing into the United States.

Too bad Canada can't just quickly dam up the Colombia River at the border, then charge the US for the water, by the gallon.

Not Columbia River! It floats in Washington/Oregon, too. The Chinook tribe called it Wimal River. The upper Columbian tribes were floating jade down Columbia River. There is a museum in Cashmere, WA; I took pictures of the jade and the adze that the natives made out of it.

If the relationships will get back to smoking a calumet together, I shall post the photos ))

Finland and Denmark have just joined Germany, UK, and Australia in issuing travel advisories warning about visiting the US.

South African ambassador expelled from US welcomed home by supporters....

(how to win friends influence people, (and do business ) USA 2025 ).

''''
The South African ambassador who was expelled from the US and declared persona non grata by the Trump administration was welcomed home on Sunday by hundreds of supporters who sang songs praising him.

Crowds at Cape Town International airport surrounded Ebrahim Rasool and his wife Rosieda as they emerged in the arrivals terminal in their home town, and they needed a police escort to help them navigate their way through the building.'''

''He also said South Africa would resist pressure from the US, and anyone else, to drop its case at the international court of justice accusing Israel of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. The Trump administration has cited that case against US ally Israel as one of the reasons it alleges South Africa is anti-American.'''

The way Trump acts, soon everyone will be anti-American!

And now, the bills are beginning to be presented....... People want their money back!!! How Europe does business... Lesson 1. Ask for it. Send a mail requesting it. Go to the press.

Three European nations are seeking a refund from the Trump administration for funds they contributed to USAID projects that have remained unspent.

Government officials from Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands said a combined $US15 million ($24 million) they contributed for joint development work overseas had been parked at the US Agency for International Development for months.

The three countries, allies of the United States, provided the funds for USAID to spend on low-income countries in a project called Water and Energy for Food, or WE4F.

With the Republican administration and Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cutting USAID's funding and the bulk of its programs, the Europeans have asked for a refund.

They have not gotten a response.

Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands initially sent USAID emails inquiring about the money they had contributed to the organisation's accounts.

A lack of response left the three nations frustrated, and they warned the US that they were looking at talking to media about their missing money

Google AI says that Coca-Cola and Rotary International - along with Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands - partner with USAID. (Google AI Overview)

I wonder who else has money tied up in USAID. There is a brochure out there that encourages partnership with USAID for nations and businesses.

*Partner contributions are estimates by USAID partners and may include contributions from the private sector, NGOs, foreign governments, and other organizations"
"Partnership enables the sharing of resources, skills, and networks that allow partners to achieve far more than they could individually."

Chevron makes a contributor's comment in the brochure, as does Starbucks, Walmart, Procter & Gamble, Mars (who make chocolate products and pet food), Cisco, Coca-Cola, Abbott Laboratories, SC Johnson, IBM, Kraft Foods ....

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. If Mr Trump was sensible, maybe he could spend their money on something appropriate retroactively. Might need a little white lie to push that along, I wonder if he could bring himself to tell a fib?

Possibly, Kemug. I remember a little fib that brought about that lovefest. (January 6th)

Smith recently told syndicated news and commentary website Breitbart that she has asked the Donald Trump administration to put tariffs on pause until after Canada’s federal election, because the trade war is benefiting the Liberals in the polls

United we stand divided we fall. We need to be united in the fight with tariffs and trump not side with them. Her relationship with trump is concerning . what's stopping her from selling us out to trump and the USA.
She reminds me of Quebec in the 70's-80's .

She gives the new federal government, when it is elected, six months to move on these issues.

Smith says if Alberta is brushed off on these demands she will ask Albertans what they want to do. It will be a Next Steps panel and she will likely be on it.
