His former national security adviser John Bolton stated on CNN multiple times that everything was personal to Trump. Trump thinks Putin is his friend.
So he thinks. In reality, has no friends. He only has transactions. MOO.

Well, I guess you can’t change people. A good politician’s approach is utilitarian. Think how many politicians and kings successfully used a personally disloyal but a brilliant diplomat, Talleyrand.

That is a mistake that Trump will eventually regret. Putin is no man's friend.

Putin is a shark who would eat Trump for breakfast. He sees him as an easy mark.

Federal election in Canada on April 28. Listening to both leading political party leaders, I have no idea who is the better man to lead Canada to a future independent of the USA. I can see myself changing my decision at the polling station.

Carney just said (live interview) that Trump has to say that Canada is a sovereign country before he will discuss trade relationships with the USA federal government.

That's a really important stance to take.

Isn't one of the options labeled Maple MAGA?

Didn't Trump just mention yesterday "a beautiful landmass that was artificially divided"?

Honest question, do we have bots trying to disrupt our conversations about US Tariffs (trade wars) and invasion plans?

Putin has been at this game in politics and war for a very long time. His background is not as a cheap shyster real estate promoter.

Putin's background is firmly in the KGB, at all levels. He is truly a very dangerous and cunning man to be around. Most of the dirt on Putin will never be discovered or revealed.

It's just amateur hour when Trump trys to pretend he goes toe to toe with Putin. I also note that Putin's health problems do not seem to be so apparent right now. He has been known to use imitators for public appearances.

Putin described the border with Ukraine as artificial, claiming that Ukrainians genuinely want to be Russians.

Trump is imitating Putin with similar claims about Canadian borders.

Nothing like more provocation to distract from Ukraine, Russian aggression, Elon Musk, and abuse of the Constitution and laws:

Canada needs to remind Trump that the artificial line goes both ways. I recommend Canada takes the state of Washington first. Or maybe New Hampshire and Vermont. Those are small and should be pretty easy to grab.

The Alberta premier told Breitbart news that the Conservative Party will align with Trump and give the USA gov't what they want.

"His MRU colleague Lori Williams said, in an email to CTV News, “This is not surprising, but potentially problematic for Poilievre – especially the reference to just pausing the tariffs and woke stuff.

“This could reinforce views about PP (Poilievre) being Trump-like.”

In another part of the interview, Smith appeared to lobby for Poilievre as the candidate most likely to align with the Trump administration’s policies.

“If we do have Pierre as our prime minister, then I think that there’s a number of things that we could do together,” Smith said. “Pierre believes in development. He believes in low-cost energy. He believes that we need to have low taxes, doesn’t believe in any of the woke stuff that we’ve seen taking over our politics for the last five years.

“So I would think that there’d be, there’s probably still always going to be areas that are skirmishes or disputes about particular industries when it comes to the border, but I would say, on balance, the perspective that Pierre would bring would be very much in sync with, I think…the new direction in America,” she added. “And I think we’d have a really great relationship for the period of time they’re both in (office).”

Canada is happy as the second largest country in the world - don't need to adopt more land. Besides, how many of those people need free health care from a system they've never supported through taxes?

You could do worse (from Google AI):

In 2023, Vermont's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was approximately $35.2 billion.
In 2023, New Hampshire's gross domestic product (GDP) was approximately $93.5 billion, a 2.2% increase from 2022.
In 2023, Washington State's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was approximately $677.2 billion.

It would be really difficult to educate an entire state population on the difference between freedom of speech, and freedom of expression. Canada doesn't need or want people from the USA trying to USA-ify Canadian values from the inside.

Sending the wife of the VP to play nice with Greenland culture? Don't they have dog sleds in Alaska?

The USA gov't isn't going to give up on the goal to displace Greenlanders and take/use all natural resources to make the USA richer.

Everyone’s definition of a friend is different.

“Personal friends” of politicians is a topic of its own.

Going through history in terms of “famous politicians with friends”, I think Trump is more like Napoleon - no close friends; instead, there is the family.

Did she imagine before the election that she would be used as a tool for her country's imperialism?
