He can no more 'buy' Greenland, or Gaza for that matter, than I can, or you can, as neither are owned by anyone qualified to 'sell' them , and Trump has no power to force Congress to fork out 400 billion dollars to 'pay' .. Trump never pays his bills. Fact.

Carney said something during his post-Trump interview - can't quite remember how he worded it - but the gist of it was that Trump has plans to completely restructure the USA. Those changes confirm Canada's decision to seek new trade partners.

What the USA government has been doing for the last few weeks is only the beginning. Trump said there would be a little pain before everyone was rich. I don't believe anyone's standard of living will improve through current changes, but I do believe there will be a lot of pain. When it's done, what will the USA look like?

Whose 14 year old children will be working in the fields overnight while attending school during the day? Is there a two-tiered vision for the restructured country where some families have no choice but to send their children to work in the fields?

How does this work? A car part made in Canada is needed in the USA. Canada, the seller, sets the price of that part. The 25% tariff is included in the price. The USA can buy it at the set price, or not.

Is Trump now telling USA automakers to take a profit cut, sell vehicles at less than cost? Does Trump think he can tell Canadians what price to put on their products?
Does Trump understand how tariffs work? Did he just realize that the car buyer pays the tariff?

Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Greenland is part of NATO only because Denmark joined NATO.

No one is selling a piece of any country. Vancouver Island belongs to Canada. It is not for sale either.

Trump's idea of buying Greenland is displacing all the people who cannot work doing the jobs he needs, moving them to the USA, putting them in a housing compound, giving them some pocket money, and done.

When he tried to entice Canadians to join the USA, he said that he'll replace Canadian dollars with USA dollars - that's the nature of "buying" a country that Trump imagines.

Why so disparaging of the Danes?? surely, Danish Parliament can , with sovereignty and cold hard fact claim Greenland as part of the Danish Kingdom, unless you have cold hard facts that dispute this claim? I am just as sure that the Danes have no intention, or have ever had such, and are certain they never will have, any thoughts of selling any part of the Danish territory, to anyone, much less sell it to a convicted felon,

Where, most likely now, the Greenlanders will see that independence from Denmark may not be the wisest move at this point in time, and the whole independence thing will lose momentum.. The Greenlanders are, above most other things, a pragmatic people, one has to be to live in such a challenging environment, which is why I expect them to reconsider the position, out of sheer practicality, with the blustering Vance banging on the door.

Vance can't even keep track of who he is supposed to be talking with, what would be the point of talking with Denmark AFTER selfdetermination of independence FROM Denmark , he trips over his own words, and can't keep a grip on what he's on about. Pitiful stuff, 5th rate stuff , kindergarten stuff.
