Catherine Crier - New Evidence in JBR

Except that DNA can co-mingle even if deposited at different times. If I bled onto a hankerchief and it dried and then you bled onto the existing bloodstains on the same hankerchief then what would be extracted would be a mixed DNA sample - i.e. co-mingled blood.
Again Jayelle's I agree, you are right it can, however, the point being made by the criminologist is that the foreign dna is not found on the panties in any area tested other than the areas where Jonbenet's blood is found. If it was contamination by a factory worker, one would expect it to be in at least another area. The fact that the few markers found under her nails match up to the same markers found in her underwear ,again, disputes the possibility of the dna being from anyone other than the murderer. We mustn't get caught up in the BPD's way of thinking! They made an enormous error, proclaiming the parents as guilty and avoiding exculpatory evidence. At some point, I expect they will be held criminally liable for these deliberate actions.

Was the criminologist privy to the actual Ramsey lab reports? or is he another Tracey hire who was there to speculate for $$$s?

From what I understood it was the Denver lab that very late received the specimens? Please correct me if I am wrong.
I'm not certain of the chronology, however from what I understood in the program ,it was the wealthy family of the "other girl" who hired Peterson ,he then became interested in the parallels and began working the Ramsey case for free? I recall, as well, that Peterson had an impecable record in law enforcement before moving into the private sector. Is this not true?

Labs don't usually discuss work they've done for clients.

a Geraldo, closer to the case time...
Mr. PETERSON: Well, let's put it this way. We think there's--there's a possibility of that. I don't know that I'm directly convinced. There is--we investigated it for about a year and a half, as well as the Ramsey case. We got involved in that because of it. There are d--some--some definite parallels with regard also to handwriting, and some of the people...

RIVERA: How come you didn't tell anybody, Pete?

Mr. PETERSON: I did. You know, the only reason--this is a new development--it's not a new development; this has been there for three years. And somebody by the name of Charlie Brennan, a reporter, picked it up. I mean, we were out there with it--we were out there with it. We talked to the DA; we talked to Lou Smit.
