Yes, but the Irwins could have easily given these records to their attorneys.

But they didn't give phone records to their attorney, oddly enough... Earlier on Sat. on the Judge Jeanine Pirro show, their attorney said that he had not seen the phone records and was going on what LE told him. Also another really odd thing-- I doubt LE would share this kind of info with a defense attorney..... No link to transcript yet.

Who says it was the only reason? The reason is because they simply could. Cell phones, especially nice ones are stolen ALL the time! Just like gps'es.They are quick and easy and easy to sell and not for stalking reasons. You can also guarantee when somebody steals a gps, they also look to see what is stored on it just because they can.

Yep. Same reason people who steal cell phones often hit redial (which may be voicemail, of course.) Or surf through stolen GPS's. And great way to target another victim.

Hope all the local pawn shops have checked their inventory. We recently went through phones and GPS's from a pawn shop locally, trying to find a MP- you wouldn't believe how easy it is to trace data that way.

Why are you assuming there even was a security code?
Several people here, myself included, have already stated that our phones do not require a security code/PIN to access voicemail. Some people set them up with one, some don't.

What are the odds that your baby will be abducted from your home on any given night under any given circumstances?
The odds are going to be way up there regardless.
It's not easy to steal a baby from inside a home, so there almost has to be a perfect storm of circumstances for it to happen at all.

Nobody can walk into Verizon or Sprint and get cell phone records and that's a fact. I cannot retrieve or request my own family members records if the family members are over 18.

You cannot give people permission to see your phone records and retrieve them from your cell carrier.

This is NOT true....I have US Cell for my carrier and my son took off out of state with some friends and said nothing. After 2 days of not being able to reach him by phone or his person, and my being stuck at work, i called my carrier and told them my situation and asked if i could send my neice into the local office to get the last 2 months up to the last day in my new billing cycle of my phone records so she could see if there were any calls made from his phone and to get other phone numbers on his line to call them and get info from unknown friends. My son is 18 and has a phone line on my account. They said yes and my neice went into the local store and got a printed copy of my phone records. So YES YOU CAN GIVE PEOPLE PERMISSION TO SEE AND GET A COPY OF YOUR PHONE RECORDS. This is true.

You can get a copy and give that copy to someone but they can't waltz into cell phone companies and get one.

Why would JI come home to find his baby missing, then quickly haide the phones and call 911 so quickly? If he thought DB did it, and took the step of hiding the phones, why not wait till morning to call? He could have very easily said he came home exhausted and went straight to bed and didn't check on the kids and didnt notice she was missing till the morning? It doesn't make sense to me to arrive home and find his daughter missing, get a confession out of DB, come up with the idea to hide the phones, and call 911 so quickly. I can't believe that JI had anything to do with a cover up at least not that morning. JMO

Also, why would DB attempt to make a call to MWs phone-a number she has never called before rather than any others? No brother? No boyfriend? No parent? No close friend? Why would she call THAT particular number in THAT particular situation? Especially if she knew the phones were turned off? And why would she even try that phone when she had one that supposedly worked? Apparently there is no further phone activity that evening as if there were I think we would know about it if a flurry of calls were made by any one of the phones. JMO

Speaking of pawn shops and cell phones, it is well known in the City I live in, that there is a corner barber shop that sells "used" (really means stolen and sold) cell phones for $5. Of course they are working phones, so I guess they make sure they work first before buying/selling. There are also lots of drug deals going down in front of the store, and inside. Wonder if Kansas City has a similar store?

All the phones I've had through ATT, Sprint, TMobile don't ask for a pin if you call vm from your phone. They assume you are you because they recognize your phone when you call. All mine had the option of securing it with a pin code. I have never used a pin code on any of my phones. Probably half careless half just can't be bothered to have to put the number in each time. I am also not paranoid about that stuff although perhaps I should be.

This new timeline w/the phones doesn't prove a thing to me. I highly doubt a baby thief is gonna take the baby, phones, turn all the lights on and then hang around the HOOD for 4 hours playing w/a cell phone. WHY?? and where was Lisa while all this was going on?! Too me, this points right back to DB messing w/her phone trying desperately to find out where JI is and why he's not home yet then the cell phone usage comes to a screeching halt right b4 JI gets home and 911 is called. IF this was all done by the Kidnapper then why did the person stop using the phone right about the time 911 was called? That tells me exactly who had the phone and who was responsible for this mess!!

I totally agree with all you said! Just wondering tho did someone state the calls or usage on the phones stop right about the time when 911 was called? i havent been able to keep up and wonder if i missed something on this....thanks

Don't LE ask you for the cell phone and they copy the records. They would like to see the texts. I don't think they can get text other then from the phone itself...but could be wrong. At least in the Anthony case it worked like that. They had the time and length of text but not the content unless the witness gave them the phone. Amy kept all of her texts....for months.

In reading the wording of this latest info of the cell phone use timeline I
Find it to be easily read that whomever had possession of the cell phone in question it certainly appears IMO(again due to the specific wording) that whomever it was attempted to connect to the voicemail(2times) was quite likely not the owner/user of the cell phone.. With using the very specific wording "at 3:17am attempted to connect to voicemail" rather than just simply stating "at 3:17am connected to voicemail".. This specific wording makes a huge difference IMO and is very much implying that it was an"attempt" rather than an actual "connection".. Huge IMO due to the fact that this would be expected if it were someone other than the owner of the phone being the person
At 3:17am "attempting" to connect with voicemail and would IMO very likely NOT HAVE THE OWNERS PASSCODE TO ACTUALLY MAKE THAT CONNECTION TO THE VOICEMAIL.. Hope that makes sense..

I may be confused, but we don't use passcodes to connect to our voicemail. We just have to hit the button to activate it. Anybody could pick up my phone and hear my voicemail, unless I have deleted it, which I do often. I am not familiar with Verizon, we use AT&T, but I don't think it makes a difference with the carrier, it could be the difference in the phone itself. I guess a person could set it to where you have to have a passcode to activate voicemail, but I've never felt the need to do that. It's possible that DB and JI don't use passcodes either.
