Well, sorry, I don't read it that way. Things can be misquoted or misinterpreted by the media and often is. I certainly don't 'read' Dad as knowing that his son is dead just because he used past tense.

What I find amusing... and I am not picking on you so please don't take it that way.... but you used incorrect verb tense in your own post, "have saw" instead of "have seen" and "have did" rather than "have done." It seems to me that if one is going to be critical of a distraught parent's choice of words, then one should be careful to use proper grammar themselves.

Just saying.

Ouch! "I'm not picking on you?" I'm not sure how else she could take it.

I think the past tense is troubling somewhat, but even more troubling is the general lack of pleading...."Dylan, please come home! We miss you. If you are ok just call me...or call you mom or brother. We are trying to find you and we won't stop!" The statement just seems "final." I'm not sure how else to define it. But the statement itself is the least troubling of clues, imo. There are many more pertinent ones that concern me.

This was said on camera so misquoted isn't an option. Just saying..,

Yes and for all we know he might not have even slept the night Dylan got there. Maybe that's why they want video of that road to see when he got home Sunday or Monday imo

La Plata County Sheriff spokesman Dan Bender told ABC News that when Dylan was first reported missing, authorities checked Dylan's father's home to see if the boy was there. Dylan was visiting his father for the Thanksgiving holiday (his parents are divorced) as a result of a weeklong court-ordered visit.

"We were checking the basement and other rooms, we were seeing if there had been something left on the bed, like his cellphone," Bender said. "We weren't doing a very meticulous search."

Bender said that investigators have ruled out that he ran away, and suspect Dylan may have been abducted or kidnapped. They are also considering foul play.

"We're still hopeful that if it was an abduction, we're hoping we can find Dylan and we're hoping that we can find him alive," he said.

''Where was Mr. Redwine between the hours of 1130 when he got home and 1630 when he checked with the friends if he already knew about the plans?''

I'll bite. He was drivin the 19 miles round trip at some point to the friends house....... and my bet is there is a lot of open dark, damp , thick forest in between . ;)

Actually then it says he went to the marshall's office? to report him missing ? or did it say he called it in. I wonder where that marshalls office is on the route.

friends house first and then the marshalls. but that dosent explain what happened before the friends house, imo

So you mean, we have to remember what was actually reported in MSM and what was conjured up in our own resourceful minds? Geez....no wonder I get in trouble:D

Anybody have a reporter on their payroll?

actually it said he went to the marshall's office ' to express his concern' that he couldn't find his son. So i guess they helped him decide to file a report.

Vasportsmom used the past tense in both cases, whether correct or not. The father of this "missing" child did not! He used past tense in speaking of his child that he should have no reason to believe is "past tense".

We weren't really discussing grammar at all. Its irrelevant. But how "observant" of you to notice. And to comment on such. :what:

In this case, other than Dylan's friends ,did anyone else try and call Dylan when he was missing. It would make more sense to try and call him or his friends instead of driving over to find him

Not true .. he had already let them in once. I think the warrant was procedure and cya in case this goes to court. And they stated their reason was that it was the last place Dylan was seen ...

imo

Respectfully, my post is true, and refers to well-settled constitutional law. A search warrant will not be signed without probable cause. If Mr. Redwine had stated before that police could search anything and everything, a warrant would not be necessary as any evidence gathered would be admissible.

So they were looking for his cell from day one...

It makes me wonder if they have gotten a "ping" and they just can't find it.

I would love to know exactly when these searches took place. If they were searching the house for the phone at some point after they had obtained the pings ... we would have our answer on where it was last.

Maybe the warrant let them look into hard drives, etc? Plumbing, etc? Places you don't just see with the naked eye while looking around a room.

I do not understand the lack of info in this case. LE either doesn't know anything more than we do so they have nothing to release OR they have felt pretty confident from the beginning that they know all the W's so they don't feel the need to put anything out that they don't have to.

Wasn't there a report somewhere saying that LE said they do have lots of info but are not releasing it until they have ( paraphrasing) all their ducks in a row? So I think there is tons more info than we know, per the usual. All these questions we keep asking each other, they've known the answer for days. But I wonder at what time they will release it. After an arrest? Or an POI is named?

I don't think so. If they had a ping they would be searching in a specific area, and it doesn't seem they are doing it. The lake was likely being searched because of father saying fishing pole went missing, not because of cell phone ping.
