The other cartoons on during that time on Nick were Dora, Little Bill, all geared towards preschoolers.....that is why I am pretty sure he didn't watch it after say 10, cuz last showing on DTV for Sponge Bob was at 9:30am....then there is TeenNic which has to be subscribed too, and with Dylan not there on a constant basis I don't see him having this channel. So 10am at most (IMO)....then preschool shows...maybe left the TV on for noise(I do that)....but wouldn't of been actively watching Nic at that time I don't think.

This was my thinking as well...

I'm guess what I am trying to say gently (or was...) is that this dad didn't
have full custody of this boy.

While watching Nick in the morning during pre-school time might have been a "normal" activity in previous years ehh... not so much at this point in a teen boys life...
of course there is always an exception to the rule!

IMO the pre-school shows are sooo repetitive!!!
Pre-schoolers need that to enjoy the show, that is why they air them...

Middle schoolers (typically) will tire quickly "get bored" and change the channel...

I went to nursing school a LONG time ago... but I do remember this part of my training... pediatric patients and how their minds develop...
watching the same shows over and over and OVER!!! I tolerated it because I knew it was what my kids needed...

Curious about this line of thought. So, if he obtained one (which I am assuming he could have done at any grocery store so he could have a "cooler" phone than his parents allowed) wouldn't his friends have that new number or mention to LE that Dylan called from two numbers?

Wondering what the theories are behind this.

I'm running all kinds of information threw my head, and see there are options other than parents here, there for I shall keep throwing things out until it seems like no other option. I wouldn't want someone to suspect me based on what little we have here...and judging a parent during a time like this could do alot of harm.....they are already being looked at with a fine tooth comb, and still not called a POI or a suspect....so as for me I keep thinking of other things.

In big cities with missing children, there are times when trash collection and dsiposal is isolated or searched. Checking out Bayfield is a *real* education about small towns.

Is it standard practice for small, rural areas to haul their own trash to the waste management facility? Don't know if this increases or decreases the likelihood of someone disposing of a body this way. Probably decreases it, eh? What with all that unfettered wilderness around, who would bother with the trash? Just spinning my wheels searching for the where.

It is for us here. Waste management cost alot, and many of the companies don't pick up outside of town.. Uncle lives close to town but in country and hauls his own trash. Don't know how well dumping a body in the transfer facility would work, as you do have to deal with people as you enter and exit.

I am confused about the thought that DR had a 'pay as you go phone'. Please explain. Do you think his mother bought it for him, or are you thinking he has this phone and she does not know about it? I am not sure why he would have one. Not saying that it isn't possible, but I had not thought of that. tia

The only one I can see is Sponge Bob. Only because if you have ever watched Sponge Bob they have a lot of hidden adult humor, and I know a lot of teenage boys (and girls) watch that. That is about the only one that age would watch IMO.

A possible scenario, lol. Yet again.

Dylan's father grabs the phone and throws it out the car window on Sunday night, because Dylan won't stop playing with it. But Dylan is physically fine. Dylan's father leaves this out of his report to LE, not imagining they would place so much emphasis on the non-usage of the phone and also says he tried to text Dylan on Monday, maybe even did text him. Dylan awakes and eats and sets off on his own, determined to get to his friends' houses on his own. And disappears.

If this happened, LE would be ruling out runaway or accident for (possibly) the wrong reasons, if Dylan had no phone on Monday. And if Dad did indeed have issues with the LD test ,perhaps they were questions relating to the phone.

Maybe he has since told LE about it (throwing out the phone), who knows? If so, that could lead LE to believe more in an abduction at this late date.

Why would someone other than MR abduct Dylan and keep him in hiding? Do you think someone was trying to protect Dylan from his dad? If so, was Dylan afraid of his dad?

The problem I have with the idea of MR hiding Dylan to keep him from ER is why he would choose to employ the scheme within 12-15 hours of Dylan's visit. I don't know when Dylan was scheduled to return to CS but, assuming it was Saturday, wouldn't MR wait until Friday (the day before Dylan was scheduled to leave) and establish an alibi then? Most parental abductions do happen at the end of a visit when the parent fails to return the child to the other parent. But, if LE could verify from Dylan's friends that Dylan's visit with his dad was positive and with no forensic evidence to point to foul play, I think there would be less suspicion on MR in that case.

I would love to think that Dylan is hidden away somewhere safe and warm by friends, having the adventure of a lifetime. That's what I first suspected when I read about this case in the news. But, I think with all of the publicity, and knowing how devastated ER and CR are, that someone would have come forward by now.

I'm confused, too. Even if he has a "burner" phone, none of his friends, mom, dad, or brothers have heard from him. No one has heard from him in almost a month.

If father threw out the phone, broke the phone, etc, without doing anything to Dylan, why would he then text that phone Monday? It doesn't add up.

That was based on nothing but my opinions and suspicions. If he did have a second phone it was for a purpose of communicating with someone that could not be traced.

Maybe only one friend has the number or another family member?

I think Dylan got up sometime after his dad left, ate cereal during which time he turned on the tv, then picked up his backpack, grabbed his fishing rod, walked out the door and down the road to a pre-arranged pick up spot.

or all of the above except no pre-arranged pick up and was abducted while walking.

I cannot rule out either of the above and until I can I'm not about to get off my fence. I respect other's opinions and conclusions but at this time I'm very happy up here by the way. :fence: :fence:

Yep. Poor reporting. When we something in the narrative, as opposed to quotes from LE, that is something a reporter came up with.

In a study to see how reliable cadaver dogs are in detecting death:

In this study, there were 100 carpet contaminated and 100 uncontaminated carpet samples. Sensitivity showed that 75-100% of contaminated samples were identified correctly, and there were only 0-9% false positive hits for the uncontaminated samples. (I believe this is per dog - different dogs, different %)

This also means that 91-100% negatives were correctly identified, and there were 0-25% false negatives for positive samples.

This is only for cadaver dogs, and I haven't found any studies on tracking dogs yet. I'll keep looking.

Dylan didn't even know he was going to be there on Monday until late Sunday, when his father told him it was too late to go to his friends at Bayfield. How was he going to pre-arrange anything?

I've seen this mentioned or theorized many times and cannot imagine why he would. He would have to be into some seedy activities to need one SINCE he had one paid for by his mom. Or he'd have to have enough money to buy one and keep it charged ,which requires money and I'm unaware of him having a job. So I say the thought of a burner phone for him is highly unlikely. jmo
