He wouldn't have to join in order to monitor the threads, he would have to join if he wants to post and I doubt that will happen, lol.

Thanks , i just realized that you can see how many guests are on here at a time and for example there is 12 now.

So they can be any Tom , Dick or Harry and we would never ever know :)

Tonto wrote,
I study human behavior and it's not as predictable as many tend to think. This is especially true in the rare times of overwhelming stress and anxiety.

I do not actively study human behavior, though I'm an "educated consumer" of human studies. What I DO actively study is behavioral models, and in the past I have used other types of models in my field...what I have learned is that predictions are only as good as the data they're based on. Every model has some built-in assumptions of course, but the more data you plug into your model, the more useful its predictions tend to be. It is iffy to make predictions when your data is sparse, and I think that it is good to keep an open mind about how complete a picture we have of MR, or ER, or anyone for that matter. :twocents:

...just some thoughts going through my head as I was catching up on the threads and writing a paper. :seeya:

MR or someone close to him would probably not be inclined to post here. But perhaps go on Trisha's show. That would be way awesome!

  • #104
If MR or any of his family, friends or acquaintances are lurking, I sure wish they would speak up! If nothing else to clear up some questions many have had. Perhaps they could shed some light and sway some opinions. We aren't getting a darned thing from LE!!

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:
I just imagined someone reading that and then ducking out of the way, like uh oh they found me or here I am, here I am.

oops forgot BBM

It would be a big problem if he were to join since we aren't allowed to sleuth other members. What would we all talk about? :shush:

Lol, now that would be quite the quandary. I know that Dee joined in the AS case but I wasn't around then. What happened back then?

  • #106
I honestly would not be surprised if LE have no idea what to do next .

No crime scene , no body and nobody seems to have seen anything .

So how do you work from that ?

IMO

You keep people talking, as much as possible. Someone's story may change.

You keep the missing boy's photo and info out in the public, because he might be seen somewhere.

You keep the public informed and aware, in case there is a pervert running loose in your community.

imo

  • #107
We couldn't sleuth him, but could we not ask him questions? I just want to ask him some questions. You know it's quite possible there are logical explanations for many of the things we have questioned. Since MR hasn't said much to the media and LE is keeping tight lipped we just don't know.

Lets see IMO there is a clear pattern that emerges that Elaine had moved forward in her life(and in her sons life)... IMO its clear that she had moved on with her life away from the years of what IMO is abuse and dysfunction with MR.. where does this come from?

IMO she moved forward into what IMO is a more stable home life for her and the boys(early on it was stated on the FB that her fiance had been their rock through this nightmare(her and Cory).. this IMO leads me to believe that this man was not only important to Elaine, but also her sons as well. IMO it is forward movement that she, MH and her sons had moved to Colorado city where the courts had agreed and found that move to be in Dylan's best interest when MR attempted to prohibit Dylan moving, the courts replied with awarding Elaine the primary custody..

Elaine IMO had made forward, positive movement for her sons and herself.. I personally believe that Elaine having a stable job that she enjoyed, having moved her and the boys(with the courts agreeing the move was in the best interest of Dylan), along with being in a relationship with a man that she not only cared for, but who also lived with her and her sons thus being an integral part of the life of her and her sons..as well as he has been a source of support throughout this present nightmare..MOO I believe this to be forward positive movement for this family.jmo.

Its clearly jmo and am fully aware there are some whose opinions are different. I am perfectly fine with that, but for me the above described IMO is positive forward movement for Elaine and her sons.. For me personally I find that to be of significant weight and importance, jmo, tho. Others viewing the above as something other than positive movement made for this family unit, or that these issues are irrelevant does not in any way negate or dissuade my opinion on the matter.. To each their own.

does anyone find it odd that when DR texts R, he says he doesn't know why MR won't let him go to friends' house Sunday night?

Not especially. If I'm arguing with my hubs, I generally don't talk about it while it's happening. If someone questions, it's easier just to say idk, than to go into a big long explanation.

It wouldnt surprise me if Dylan's family members do read here and probably elsewhere. I dont think they would post though.

I know during Jessica Lunsford's case Mark Lunsford mention on a NG show how difficult and painful it was for him to read about what was being said about him and his parents on the internet.:(

Smooth, I love you and your unique ability to bluntly say what you believe and keep your butt covered on TOS at the same time but if I made a drinking game of reading that post and having a shot every time you used some form of "IMO" - I would be dead of alcohol poisoning and would have died without getting to read the last couple paragraphs. You are one of a kind girl and I love reading what you have to say!

So, if he were to have been hitchiking in an attempt to get to Bayfield, what is the most likely road/routes he would have taken? Any locals or excellent map-sleuths able to comment on that?

IF he were abducted hitchiking, I would presume the abductor would hightail it to a highway to get out of the area, or drive to an extremely secluded location nearby to do whatever it was they had in mind.

It might be useful to work at determining likely routes to Bayfield, and their proximity to interstates and other roads that might have tollbooths with cameras, as well as businesses between MR's house and the nearest highway that might have cameras. Likewise finding any nearby secluded areas that might be appealing so someone who .. is looking for a nearby secluded area.

IMHO, just a thought...

We did a lot of mapwork on Lyric and Elizabeth's case and it felt productive, whether or not it was.. so if anyone feels like they're spinning their wheels right now with Dylan's case, they might want to do some mapwork for a bit.

Just a thought.

You are correct, anyone can join.

AZ I am wondering if you know Dylan. Have you ever met him. You may have posted this info and I missed it. If so sorry to trouble you again. tia

If we were to question MR about the fishing pole lets say. Now if he said the reason he knew the fishing pole was gone is because Dylan had gotten it out of the shed that night and put it by the door because he wanted to take it to his friends. Or we just bought him a fishing pole at Walmart and it was leaning up against the couch when I left that morning and was gone when I got home. Now those seem totally believable to me. But IF he said 'well my first thought was Dylan might have tried to go to the lake (4 miles away) to go fishing so I searched the shed to see if a pole was missing. Well this would make me not so sure his story is ringing true. Perhaps there's a very simple explanation of why Dylan stopped using his phone and MR explained this to LE to their satisfaction. Perhaps when Dad left in the morning Dylan flipped him the bird and said I'll get my own ride into Bayfield. (LOL jk) We just don't know. There's just so much we don't know.

The police have said about a million times they're investigating abduction. I've read around on facebook on comments from many community members there, and they talk about how they're watching their children extra carefully, etc. The community there definitely gets it.

Thank you for taking the time to type all that out. It is exactly what i would've typed if I had decided to share my own gut instinct on this case.

I've always thought that either he hitchhiked and something terrible happened to him, or he wrecked a bike in the mountains/ near the reservoir/ on the way to Bayfield (were any missing from anyplace or reported missing that day nearby I wonder?).. I keep wondering if all of the possible bike trails between Durango and Bayfield have been really thoroughly checked.. or if they HAD been, before the snow started..

eta: it would be nice of them to go ahead and print a list of items believed to be in his backpack. That way, if he had a fall off a bike and his bag fell some distance and broke open and clothing scattered about somewhere, people might have half a chance of realizing they were looking at Dylan's belongings and would then call someone in to search the nearby terrain.

I am confused-Dylan did not have or use a bike, I am sure we would know that much if a bike was missing from the house. In fact a bike was there, but apparently not used.

She actually shared a really sweet post a few pages back about an Easter dinner with Dylan.

AZ is MR's ex wife and Mother of his oldest boys. Dylan would be a half brother to her sons.

BBM

Well, IMO, you can just forget about the last one. Rarely does LE warn the community that a pervert may be loose in their community. In fact all the cases where a pedophile WAS on the loose and abducted a child or children the only case I can remember LE informing the public that a predator was on the loose was in the Jessica Ridgeway case. IMO, the reason they did that in that case was because they knew he had dismembered JRs little body and most pedos dont do that. So it was way beyond what most pedos do. They usually will kidnap, rape and quickly dispose of the body and its in tact.

The first one may already be happening. I havent heard of anyone that has stopped talking to LE.

I am sure the most recent photo of Dylan taken at Walmart is on a lot of fliers in the area.

IMO
