I would believe it's because fb is considered rumor, however, IMO every MSM article has been rumor as well, since nothing in those comments have been verified either. Confusing I know, why one is allowed and the other isn't.

I have been in reporting, and in many cases, it is more unreliable than FB. People can tell a reporter lies just as well as typing it on facebook.

It's nice to be able to ask family questions directly without waiting for a reporter. I wish Tricia would get Cory & Elaine to do her blogradio broadcast!

Why on earth would anyone kidnap a 13-year-old boy to hide him? DR appears to be willful, and frankly would have been able to escape or a legitimate sighting would have been reported by now. I know it's possible but not probable. The risk would be too much and the punishment severe. I could see a younger vulnerable child being snatched, but a happy teen-ager would be impractical. IMHO.

I think it's pretty unlikely that Dylan is being held somewhere. Unless MAYBE he were out of the country. He's not a 3 year old, he's a pretty wise 13 year old and I think they would have to have him locked in a room 24/7. Not saying it's impossible, but in my opinion not likely.
The thing with this theory is if he's in the U.S. eventually he would have to surface. What would be the point if MR couldn't be with him? Now IF he is out of the country and MR was planning on joining him at some point...maybe? Otherwise I don't see any way he could get away with it. Even out of the country it would be very difficult to stop Dylan from finding a phone or a cop eventually. I don't see Dylan going along willingly.

i wish LE would tell us anything. Do you think they are talking to ER, or CR? This is crazy. Are they playing one against the other deliberatly? jmo

I've seen a few stories like this one in the news over the last couple years. So I can't say it's impossible that he's been hidden. How safely is a matter of interpretation.

No, I don't think it's likely, but there are gullible people, folks with addictions or mental issues perhaps, that might be convinced that they are doing this for a child's own good or to prove their love. Weirdness happens.

By the article, the boy's father was the one keeping him. I know what you mean though.

If one of Dylan's parents/friends/close relative was also missing, it would make that possibility more real.

I do not think LE is giving Elaine and Cory much info if any. They usually don't, or very little if they do. People assume that LE tells the family what they have and they just don't. Often times the family is as much in the dark as the rest of us.

  • #248
Surely MR would have known he would be under suspicion and not able to leave to go meet up with Dylan without being seen or followed. If one makes such a complex plan, I think it is unlikely that they did not think of every angle.

As far as anyone taking Dylan, who on earth would have a motive? His mom's side of the family had access to him all the time. And now, they don't and may never again.

that makes no sense to me. It only perpetuates rumors and inuendos. Why don't they share and and least clear the air? If they think MR is guilty then they need to say so. jmo

The question is, does someone have a girlfriend who is extremely gullible? Maybe a girlfriend in another state or maybe in Mexico?

ETA: And yea, maybe the original plan was that Dylan wouldn't be left alone with her this long, but things didn't go as planned.

Hey, mods! Is this being worked on? I totally agree to asking both to do Tricia's show! It would probably be one of the "most listened" to airings.

There are plenty of people who aren't likely to be watched, and it's hard to say what somebody else would consider to be a good reason for taking and hiding a young teen. I personally can't think of any reason that I'd consider to be even close to a "good" one, but not everybody thinks like I do (luckily!)

MOO

But again, we are talking about having to hold him prisoner, i.e tied up or whatever. So unless he is dating someone with brain damage, they would know it is a felony, Imo.

I think all the mods are over on facebook reading......lol

How would someone hold a 13 year old that likes his friends and constantly communicates with them? Nobody heard from Dylan in 2 months.

Could be possible. I see what you are saying.

Things got out of control real fast. LE had the dogs out Monday night and Tuesday. LE took the case seriously from the start and so did Elaine.

JMO

ETA: but for 2 months? A week or two perhaps...

Because they have an ongoing investigation. If anything they tell the family were to leak out it could botch the whole case. To get a conviction nowadays is difficult and that's why they keep so tight lipped. I think even more so when the FBI is involved. I have talked to so many family members of missing persons and LE usually tells them very little or nothing at all.

Dylan could probably outsmart anyone who did not think what they were doing was a crime, as they would have to be pretty stupid, IMO. Is that someone one would put in charge of such an operation?

  • #259
who on earth would have a motive?

Maybe someone with a grudge against MR. I don't mean an ex-wife. How about an unstable ex-girlfriend or aquaintance? Someone that wanted to really hurt MR or pay him back for something.

What if the person/people told him that if anything happened that his mother would get blamed/named as a co-conspirator? Is it possible that anyone would be able to convince him that she had arranged it for his own good? (No, I'm not saying that she did have anything to do with it.)
