Maybe someone with a grudge against MR. I don't mean an ex-wife. How about an unstable ex-girlfriend or aquaintance? Someone that wanted to really hurt MR or pay him back for something.

That is the first question LE would ask MR, any enemies, etc. So no, I do not see it. Any such people would have been run down by the FBI long ago.

Surely MR would have known he would be under suspicion and not able to leave to go meet up with Dylan without being seen or followed. If one makes such a complex plan, I think it is unlikely that they did not think of every angle.

As far as anyone taking Dylan, who on earth would have a motive? His mom's side of the family had access to him all the time. And now, they don't and may never again.

Maybe if he is involved, MR really thought LE would have written Dylan off as a runaway. Maybe he never expected the case to receive this much attention. (Not that the case is getting nearly enough attention, but far more than MR would have wanted - if he is involved. Remember that quote in the MSM about 'making it more than it needs to be' or something.)

After a week or two, maybe a month, MR thought he could just pick up Dylan and head off to Mexico or whatever. Told his new girlfriend (I'm picturing someone like Misty Croslin-Cummings but older & dumber) that they'd all go off and be a family.

No, I don't really believe this scenario, but at least it still gives some hope for Dylan. (Most of the time, I just think the HRD dogs were right and he's in that big lake.)

Because they have an ongoing investigation. If anything they tell the family were to leak out it could botch the whole case. To get a conviction nowadays is difficult and that's why they keep so tight lipped. I think even more so when the FBI is involved. I have talked to so many family members of missing persons and LE usually tells them very little or nothing at all.

Then why is she talking at all and continuing to accuse MR?

Oh my....does anyone else think of the FCA case....protestors?

  • #265
But again, we are talking about having to hold him prisoner, i.e tied up or whatever. So unless he is dating someone with brain damage, they would know it is a felony, Imo.

She has every right to voice her frustrations and feelings, this is still the USA and all that. And maybe she is not happy with the investigation, who knows? Or she feels very strongly about what she is saying?

Dylan could probably outsmart anyone who did not think what they were doing was a crime, as they would have to be pretty stupid, IMO. Is that someone one would put in charge of such an operation?

Ok now, this is quite enough.....I spit my coffee all over my laptop! You're killing me!

Because maybe she thinks he had something to do with it and no one is listening to her? JMO

I honestly do not blame Elaine for voicing her feelings . it's not like LE are being seen to do much here IMO. There comes a point where being silent does not bring your son home .

If that were the case, it would be a good time for MR to talk to the media.

Yes, she does, but that in no way has anything to do with what I posted. ty

Yeah, like that's gonna' happen...

Perhaps ER & CR are being more vocal because LE isn't. It's tough being in the center and wanting answers that aren't coming your way. I don't blame them in the least for speaking up. There comes a time in your when you realize that any movement is movement and it's better than standing still.

LE has their job to do, they are investigating, they are looking at evidence and they don't owe the public any answers. It's their silence that is speaking volumes to people. They have ONE shot to make it right. There is no room for error on their part and moving too quickly without enough evidence to get a conviction is not what they do.

However, for ER & CR, as long as they follow the laws, they should do whatever they see fit to find answers.

All IMO, IMOO, etc

Am not sure I understand your question? Why is Elaine speaking out? If I understand your question correctly, I would have to say because LE is giving her no answers as to where her son is! LE has a 'case', Elaine has a 'son'. Big difference.

Or perhaps you're asking why she's accusing MR if LE is protecting their investigation and why would she want to interfere? If that's your question then refer to my last 2 sentences above.

Once again, I find myself thinking of the Kyron Horman case, in that Desiree was unable to keep silent about her feelings with regards to Terri Horman, and most people were fine with that, even though she had not been named a POI by LE. In fact, Desiree was far more accusatory than ER, and this was long before she had heard about TH's alleged drinking bouts or letters about her feelings toward Kyron.

And her husband is a cop. So I think it becomes clear, IMO, that the mother comes out more than the citizen when your child is missing.

It kind of makes you appreciate the tight ship kept around here by the Mods :)

I wasn't here for that fiasco. I guess I just don't understand the mentality of people like that. It's counterproductive.

I can totally understand the family wanting answers. I think everyone is as frustrated as we are about not receiving any information from LE and with Mark being so quiet. I'm sure it doesn't take much to light a fire when a child has been missing for 2 months and the last person to see him is being, well, you know acting like Mark (ignoring Elaine and Cory's calls and texts - refusing to talk to them, etc).

I think people close to the case are at their wit's end.

Not saying it's right but I can feel the family frustration.

I absolutely agree. I'd be frustrated as well. I just don't get that WS'ers are calling out other WS'ers. It doesn't help anything at all, and it makes me very uncomfortable.

ITA. Doesn't make much sense does it? :waitasec:
