McDonalds has wifi. But yes, Dylan (or someone else) would have not been able to use the iPod for texting while on the road.

Maybe they didn't go straight home, like we think? I also interpret the latest info as Dylan sent a message, using something other than his phone, at 9:37 p.m. To do that, he had to have some kind of "sending" signal. But yet, LE has not confirmed that Dylan made it to MR's house? So..... maybe they went somewhere else, before they headed home and LE is sitting on that info? Otherwise, why not just confirm that Dylan was there?

I tend to believe that Dylan made it to MR's house because there were clothes left there, the iPod was there and now we have this late message. But.... I'm only speculating and I realize that Dylan might not have ever made it there :(

Very strange, imo.

Has it been stated that they were his clothes or his Ipod? I've not seen that, other than what MR said, I mean.

If Dylan sent this later message, it is even stranger IMO that he did not make contact with R in the morning when his plans changed and R had texted him.

Obviously something happened that prevented Dylan from communicating with any of his friends in the morning. The questions are, when did this something happen and who is responsible?

The thing is about the pair of sweat pants left behind is that Mark could of easly of swiped them from Dylan's bag . If something did happen then Mark had hours upon hours for a cover up ... MOO !

My understanding from the article was that it was the reporter's observations regarding the clothes. As for the iPod, no, it has never been clarified to my knowledge who the iPod belonged to.

It is just my interpretation of the information that we have at this point. I could be wrong on all counts :)

Or, any time after 9:37PM.

I am so intrigued by who Dylan texted because if things went south with Dad then he would surely call Mum or Cory IMO . Yet this has never been mentioned by them . And there time line on the official Facebook said Dylan's last communication was just after 8pm .

It is a total bamboozler !!

I suppose it's possible it was to ER or CR and they were instructed NOT to mention that by LE, right?

I'm with you Clu. I thought DR and all his belongings inside his backpack were missing. So the items taken out of MR's house ...... I don't know anymore.

The sweatpants could have been left there from the September visit. JMO

Hmm , maybe . But they have been so vocal I would of thought it would of used as another sign of Mark's guilt in there eyes . Moo

Yes. If something happened to Dylan on the evening of November 18th that means that Mark is responsible. If something happened to Dylan after Mark left the house in the morning, then who knows?

Not if LE said don't say a word. I'm wondering if this text had some damning
content and maybe MR doesn't know it was sent . By damning I mean something like ' we're not going home' or ' dad's drunk' or etc etc. Something that sounded odd but not too odd , until the next day when he's reported missing.

Presuming that Dylan is a typical hormonal teen, I could see that last text message being sent (by whatever means) by a very sleepy Dylan to a young sweetheart to say goodnight.

I could also see his family not knowing about the sweetheart due to potential light-hearted family teasing, and I could see the sweetheart’s parents advising LE of the text message but insisting that their minor child be protected from any media knowledge of who the text message was sent to.

Very good point South !

Excellent point. There's a good chance that Dylan's last text was to a minor who's parents do not want them put into the public eye. Obviously LE would respect that right to privacy at this time. MOO.

Nothing released by police indicates message was not send via cell phone.
The idea that it was send by something else appears to be complete speculation.

I don't think LE would of mentioned the final text if it was purely innocent . I think there is more to the final text than it being sent to a minor IMO - they have drawn attention to this final communication for a reason MOO

Wouldn't Dylan's mom and brother know if he had an iTouch? They aren't cheap.

Yep, they should know. I presume mother was paying for the electronic devices.

Elaine did say that Dylan took his iPod with him. It was stated somewhere that an iPod was taken from MR's home by LE during the search. I assumed it was Dylan's but it could have been MR's.

The LE verified timeline of Dylan has to end somewhere. Maybe this text is it.
