All Elaine said was iPod so I don't think we have any idea which one.
The LE verified timeline of Dylan has to end somewhere. Maybe this text is it.

Of course but the way LE have gone about announcing this to me makes it sound mysterious and not purely innocent MOO
It is mysterious because we don't know the content of the text or who it was sent to. I'm not sure what you mean by "the way LE have gone about announcing this"?
why not say what device Dylan used to communicate with if it was not his mobile phone ?
The LE timeline leaves a lot to the imagination. What time did Dylan leave the airport? Is the stated times at Walmart and McD's arrival times or departure times?
I don't think that the purpose of the timeline was to give much detail about their investigation, but rather to give the public an idea of Dylan's activity's on the evening of November 18th. MOO.

Nothing really new except to confirm he was at mcdonald's. BTW is there a mcdonald's in that Walmart? I know that is common here in Texas. jmo
It was stated several times earlier that there is not a McD's in that Walmart.
Nothing released by police indicates message was not send via cell phone.
The idea that it was send by something else appears to be complete speculation.
Agreed. Perhaps LE just want to let everyone know that is the last time that they know of a definite communication from Dylan, and not the 8pm time that has been previously assumed.
I've been doing some thinking and if MR is responsible or involved in Dylan's disappearance either he killed Dylan or there was an accident and MR is covering it up. I know many on this thread feel comfortable with the idea that MR may have been heartless enough to kill his son. While I think it's possible, I just find myself struggling to get to that conclusion for some reason.
However, I certainly can imagine MR covering up some kind of accident. MR may have thought if Dylan died bc of an accident on his first night/morning in town, he would be accused of killing him. (Maybe not having the foresight to see that this is what would happen in a "missing" case as well). I don't know why I feel this way... I guess because MR has come off as such a coward throughout the past two months that I can envision him trying to cover this up as a stranger abduction or disappearance rather than own up to a deadly accident happening on his watch. I don't know why, but this feels more likely to me than some pre-meditated killing.
As for what said accident may have been? I certainly don't know. Many things are possible-- did they struggle and Dylan sustained a head injury? Take a fall down the stairs? Play with a gun kept in the home? Die in his sleep? (Sounds ridiculous, but I have known children this has happened to due to an unknown heart condition).
None of this is based in fact, of course. Just my thoughts.
