I am still hung up on why R told Dylan to knock to wake him up and ALSO to call him. Still doesn't make sense to me. Also, why didn't R send a couple of text messages to Dylan when Dylan didn't show up at 6:30? I mean, even I will text someone every 10-15 minutes if they don't show up, figuring for some reason they didn't receive my first text. These just don't add up for me.

I think maybe he wanted Dylan to call so that the knocking wouldn't wake up anyone else in the house.

As far as not texting more often, my only thought it he's a kid and maybe he got busy with his other friends. After raising two boys and partially there on a third, its hard to understand what makes them tick. :)

I won't be able to watch the 5:00 news (I'll be driving home from work during the 5:00 hour). But I can sneak a few peaks at websleuths on my phone. So if anything interesting comes up, someone on here best post about it!!

Maybe R figured he'd be "out like a light" and wouldn't hear Dylan just calling or just knocking so to make sure he wakes up, he wanted both the bells and whistles. IMO

Maybe he was concerned he wouldn't hear Dylan knocking and wanted to make sure he could let Dylan in, so he asked that Dylan also called him.
He texted Dylan several times the next day, first asking him where he was, then telling him to go to a new location. He is a teenage boy, what would you expect him to do? They are not generally the type to be overly concerned when someone doesn't respond right away.

Not having the time-line in front of me at the moment, I am going from memory so please forgive me if I have something jumbled. Yes, R texted Dylan at 6:46 (I think). Then at 10:00 something. Why not any further word from R for three hours? I just find that really odd.

Well, if you find that odd, what do you think about MR coming home at 11:30 am, then texting Dylan, obviously not getting a reponse, but not reporting him missing for hours?

So do you think that Dylan may have not been overly concerned about letting R know that he was going to miss meeting him on time?

If you made plans to have someone come to your house at a certain time and they didn't show up, wouldn't you send a text, as R did? Then, when you received no response to your text, wouldn't you send another text? Then, with still no response, wouldn't you try to call the person. I find the lack of further texts/calls to check on DR odd, especially considering we are talking teens here that "live" on the phone.

No, I don't think that. R did ask Dylan where Dylan was when Dylan missed the arranged time by 15 minutes or so. Dylan, on the other hand, never contacted R to tell him he overslept, etc.

He did send him another text telling him to go to a new location. Why pretend otherwise?

I think R went to nando's (whomever that is) and just got busy with his friends.

I think maybe R figured his dad changed his plans yet again! And didnt let him come.

Does anybody know if they will show more of the interviews with Mark and Elaine tonight?

i still can not believe how little they actually showed us .

maybe I haven't read far enough back in the thread, but was Elaine's response to the question "did she have anything to do with Dylan going missing" contrived? I have NEVER suspected her and she has seemed genuine all along to me, but her response really threw me. anyone else get a hinky feeling, or was she just trying too hard?

I didn't get any hinky feeling.
I frankly think she finds this question ridiculous.

**I'm still obviously behind and am catching up**

You bring up some interesting points, AZ.. might I add that not only is the above correct IMO, but a further contradictory statement on Mark's part is that he and Dylan watched a movie til 10:30pm and at that time is when Mark went to bed while leaving an awake and still texting Dyaln on the couch..

So, this further makes the times Mark is now claiming inconsistent..Especially inconsistent with Dylan's last communicating with ANYONE.. IMO Dylan never made contact with ANYONE in ANYWAY(ie.cell phone OUTGOING call/text, iPod OUTGOING communication, via computer, or any other device, period) shortly after 8pm..

Jmo but I have never waivered, nor had any reason to doubt or not believe the info from mom, Elaine..

Continuing in pointing out the stark contradictions made by Mark Redwine is the fact that he up until now has stayed firm that Dylan was tired and went to bed early that Sunday night.. now completely contradicting those claims he states that he, MARK went to bed at 10:30 with an awake and texting Dylan on the couch.. this statement indicating that Mark Redwine not only has changed the original statements of Dylan to bed "early", but also completely negating that Mark Redwine even has the knowledge, period of when his son went to sleep..

IMO These are not just additional details as some have opined them to be. They are completely contradictory statements that actually negate each other, as in one statement CANNOT BE TRUE, IF THE OTHER IS TRUE.

Baffling and so very sad IMO.:(

So, what exactly is your opinion of the observations made in the above post regarding your opinion on how Elaine handled herself or answered questions?

What are these above observations indicative of IN YOUR OPINION?

Yep, ITA!

I agree about Elaine - her reaction on the video SHOCKED me. I was like, holy shiza, did she do something???? It was so contrived and evasive. I never doubted her before and that was freaky.

You weren't the only one. She hesitated, rambled on like she wasn't going to answer the question at all. I expected her to with honestly and sincerity deny it categorically. She didn't do that, to start with. Had my hinky meter going, big time.

Well maybe this happen then.

Dylan didn't contact R to tell him he was running late because he was hesitant to tell him that he screwed up and overslept. I think that may be a possible scenario. MOO.

  • #878
I think it is odd that MR did not try contact Dylan sometime between 7:30-11:30 that morning, since he had been unable to wake him, if anything is odd...to make sure he was okay, or that he was up and ready to go, etc.

yah, part of me thought that she's proved herself in this area already and so she was more creative with her response, adding more meaning to it ("I wish I had because if I had done anything, he'd be here, and I feel bad for whomever has done something to him"), but objectively, it is evasive and looks really bad.

yah - it seriously freaked me out! WTH? How/why/what would she have done to DR? She's been so genuine and sympathetic until that moment. crazy.
