maybe I haven't read far enough back in the thread, but was Elaine's response to the question "did she have anything to do with Dylan going missing" contrived? I have NEVER suspected her and she has seemed genuine all along to me, but her response really threw me. anyone else get a hinky feeling, or was she just trying too hard?

BBM

Her response didn't alarm me at all

I think she was trying very hard to be selective in her choice of words & thoughts to publicly convey

Well, if you find that odd, what do you think about MR coming home at 11:30 am, then texting Dylan, obviously not getting a reponse, but not reporting him missing for hours?

True, but didn't MR go looking for Dylan? He didn't just ignore it for hours, if I remember correctly. I just think it is unusual behavior for a teenager. Perhaps it's just a Missouri teenage thing to text and text and text and text!

Yes I agree - that portion of her interview really surprised me. I also noticed that there was some very dry eyed/unrealistic crying too. Let me please clarify that I have never, ever had any suspicions about ER - but this was definitely strange. In her defense, I can also see that no matter how passionate she would be about keeping Dylan's face and story in the media - answering the same, obvious questions from reporters would wear you down and just make you angry. This could explain her demeanor in this interview.

I still don't get any alarm bells ringing from MR's interview - in fact I've felt the same about everything I have seen or heard from him to date. Each time I have felt kind of relieved because my impression is that he is a shattered dad (I think people forget we are dealing with a bloke here - it's just silly to expect he will react the way ER or any of us other mum's here would) who is dealing with the reality of a missing child, plus the additional weight of being prime suspect in some people's eyes.
I've stopped reading the fb pages because I can't stomach the self-righteous assumptions, many dripping with sarcasm and hate, being posted about MR.

the only think said on the news....mark's lie detector test - did take one - asked to take another - hasn't yet (got that wrong):blushing:

ETA: said willing to take another one, if asked

Melissa Blasius‏@MelissaBlasius

@Paulsy01 @9NEWS Both did. Mom says she passed. Dad says detectives told him his was inconclusive. He's says he's willing to retake it.

Exactly & it is not too much different than on the NG show trying to answer about the poly questions. Now we know she was truthful about that. She is understandably emotional, etc.

I won't be able to watch the 5:00 news (I'll be driving home from work during the 5:00 hour). But I can sneak a few peaks at websleuths on my phone. So if anything interesting comes up, someone on here best post about it!!

Sorry, nothing at all interesting. Only one viewer question was mentioned and discussed. That was the lie detector information we already know. That is , E took and passed her poly according to her. M took poly which was inconclusive and he said he is willing to take another if LE asks him to. No other viewer questions were mentioned. The segment mentioned procedure for missing child cases and referenced a speaker from NCMEC. Also, the event next week for Dylan's birthday was discussed briefly. I thought more viewer questions would be mentioned and answered. I was disappointed.

also spoke with Dave Joly from the FBI. Had some interesting points that should be done immediately with a missing child.

conduct investigation as to the worst possible outcome

immediate search home

immediate get phone/internet information

suspect is usually known to the child/family - not very many total stranger abductions

keep missing child's face out there

**this is is memory - so may not be totally as said but what I got....

BBM

this really screwed up the case from the get-go.....they spent the first couple days treating him as a runaway....thanks to Elaine and her constant voice the investigation changed course....but Dylan is still missing

yes, I noticed the dry eyed, false crying too. Which is weird b/c I've seen real crying from her. why would she feel she should try to fake it?

IMO that depends if he was asked to take another, which we don't know. If it was truly inconclusive, they would have wanted another test. If he actually passed, they won't waste time and money on a second test.

Not true. I have heard of them giving a person 2, 3, even 4 polygraphs and all were passes. Not sure what their reason was, but I am told that it has been done.

So...if MR is not the perp, and I certainly never believed ER was involved in any way,and if this leaves an outsider with bad intentions...what are the chances for Dylan, and for this case being solved? Not good, IMO. Worse, since LE does not know what happened to him. At least in Jessica's case, LE agreed right away that she had made it out of her house.

thanks.....I had dogs barking at other dogs on our local channel I was watching (I had my headphones on for the 9 news but....)

If he passed they would rule him out!

Polygraphs alone cannot rule a person in or out. They are merely a tool used by LE. In most cases they are not even admissible in court. They do help LE, but any cop will tell you that a polygraph by itself will not rule a person out.

I thought the same. After watching the interview, I leaned more toward ER being involved than MR. Her behavior was bizarre to me. JMO, of course!

I didn't take it as odd at all...only that she was thinking and trying really hard to not say what she was really thinking about being asked that question.

She is a better person than I...cause if I was in her situation, I wouldn't have been able to control what I said.

So Mark said that he will take a second polygraph if LE asks him to. Since LE will not comment on the polygraphs, how long before we hear that he was asked to take a second polygraph and refused? My guess is that it won't take very long. MOO.

looks like local LE believes DR was in the MR home, from the video, then?

why does ER state that she wishes she could go back to that day and do things differently? Does she mean she wouldn't have let DR get on the plane to go see MR?
