That’s when it hit me that something wasn’t right, and I immediately went to the Marshall’s office in Bayfield.

Melissa Blasius:
Do you remember what you told them?

Mark Redwine:
Well, I told them that I hadn’t heard from Dylan all day and I didn’t think much of it and when I got down to the Marshall’s Office or to his friend Ryan’s house or Fernando…anyway... when I ran across his friends and they hadn’t heard from him – then that’s when I went over to the Marshall’s Office and told them that, you know, we need to find him, make contact with him. They were going to put out like a wellness check or they just notify the local authorities to keep an eye out for him and make contact with him so somebody can “bang him in the head” and say, “Hey, your dad’s trying to get a hold of you. Your friends are trying to get a hold of you. You need to communicate to somebody.

But at that moment in time…, I felt the need to address this issue with mom, so I immediately asked her had she heard from him and indicated to her that I hadn’t heard from him all day and that I was at the Marshall’s office taking care of this, and that’s when pretty much all hell broke loose with her.

From the above by MR, my question is.... did MR go to Bayfield Marshall's Office FIRST and THEN text Elaine at 4:30-5:00'ish?

I believe I read somewhere ER contacted the Sheriff's office when she finished the text with MR.

I just got in from work & watched MR's interview.

Couple of things...at first I was struck by the conflicting accounts of Dylan's relationships....ER said Dylan & MR didn't know each other very well & that MR hadn't bonded with Dylan much in the past couple of years...and of course the report about the scowling face Dylan replied to her text with. Yet, MR talks about how they were very close & that they bonded more than Dylan & his mom had and that this closeness bothered ER...or something akin to that.

Having been divorced with kids of my own I do recall how sometimes kids can play one parent against the other....so I guess the conflicting statements aren't something to really be concerned about.

What *did* concern me very much though ---was when MR was discussing Dylan's backpack. He spoke as if he knew exactly what was in it....like a couple of changes of clothes. And he specifically said that Dylan hadn't brought any of his games & stuff with him that he usually brings. There's no mention that he & Dylan discussed what he brought or didn't bring, or discussed what he had in his backpack. So, how would he know, unless he looked through the backpack???

discussion of the backpack from TxJan1971's transcript:

I mean, it’s a backpack… my guess is he had a few changes of clothes. You know there’s talk about his cell phone charger being in it. There’s not much in it. He didn’t bring his video games—he didn’t bring any of the things that he would do while he was here with me.

Yes, that really stuck out - - first he makes it sound as though he has no idea what is in the backpack...then he makes it clear that he DID know what was or was not in it.

And let's face it, a dude busted for distributing child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 knows people who LIKE child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 ! Who knows what type of visitors he has coming and going?

Child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 is a rather clandestine operation. Not a lot of comings and goings. Mostly on the computer. If he was involved in filming or anything else, it's probable he wouldn't be doing it where he lived. JMO

He's evasive and bounces from one thing to the next. Honestly, I don't see how anyone could follow anything he says.

  • #725
So which is it....now he says that no one was home

LE has to be loving this

:waitasec:

Wait...what? At first he says Dylan's friend hadn't seen him and now Dylan's friend wasn't even home?

Seriously the way he talks in circles is so irritating. He doesn't give a direct answer to anything. He just bounces from this to that to this.

I was wondering when someone was going to catch that. When I was transcribing, I was like, "Huh???? Wait a minute, I thought.... wait a minute... no... I was right... MR said before that when he realized DR wasn't around he went FIRST to the friend's house in Vallecito, and that friend hadn't seen him!!!!"

I remember making a bit of a stink about it because I couldn't understand why he would go there when he knew that the plans were all along TO GO TO BAYFIELD. So I just put it aside as another thing that didn't quite make sense... and, as MR would say: BAM! I'm typing away and next thing I hear is that Vallecito boy wasn't even home and/or no one answered the door!

So.... she ponders....once again...

Nice catch!

Does this sentence make any sense to anyone?

Who knows whether he texted Elaine or went to the Marshall's first. He talks in circles. It depends on which statement you read. And even when you read the statement you still can't get an answer!

Nice catch!

I was just amazed that MB didn't try to pin him down on the TIME he went there. This is critical, in my opinion, because she pinned him down on other times (i.e. when he left McDonalds, when he returned home).

It would be important to know if he truly did arrive at RN/F's house at 4:15 p.m., then exactly what time did he go to the Marshall's office? Did he text Elaine first (which is what we have documented so far), or did he call her FROM the Marshall's Office, and what time did he actually get to the Marshall's office. That could firm up his story for him if we knew specifically... I just found it odd that MB didn't pin him down on that one.

Umm, no. Paperwork is (or shouldn't be) a major ordeal. LE said he went to the Marshall's office, (not the Sheriff) shortly before 6 pm.
There would be no investigator/superior officer involved at that point. JMO

Hmm, what about a drive over ? Everything else seems so far apart out there. Could the drive have taken him awhile? I'm just trying to play devil's advocate and see if even just ONE of these mismatched items can't be explained away somehow. I know it doesn't look good though.

We don't know where F lives (at least I haven't read where) and I'm not sure where the Marshall's office is. I can try to google it, but still don't know where in Bayfield RN or F lived, so kind of pointless I think...

It bothers me!
what was he doing that he was so tired?
He went to bed early!

He claims to work 14-hour days away from home, so was probably tired, no matter what time he went to bed Sunday night (after 10:30 pm).

JMO and my impression but MR seems to have several speaking patterns. At times, he comes across as quite articulate. Then he seems to veer into good old boy territory with ain't this and ain't that. Then there are the totally confusing broken, backing up circular sentences. It makes me think of Croslin double talk (Haleigh Cummings disappearance) which I initially thought was a product of regional speech and educational level until I finally decided it was purposeful. Maybe I am overboard in my assessment, but I feel like I am listening to at least three different guys. All MOO.

And then you have ER's version:
REDWINE: Well, his dad texted me at around, oh, 4:30. Maybe it was closer to 5:00 on Monday. And I texted him back. You know, it was like, Well, we should call the sheriff. So I went ahead and I actually called the sheriff that day. I don’t know if Mark had called the sheriff that day, either, but I called the sheriff right after I got the text from Mark. I went to my house, picked up a bag, grabbed my oldest son, Corey (ph), and we came to Durango."

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIP.../03/ng.01.html

I would have thought that IF MR was at the Marshall's office and was texting ER from there, and "someone" suggested "WE SHOULD CALL THE SHERIFF's OFFICE" - if MR were already at the Marshall's Office, one would think he would simply text her back and say: "We don't have to call the Sheriff's Office because I'm AT the Marshall's Office and I'll have them coordinate w/ the Sheriff's Office if necessary..." Sooooo, we are left to wonder the timeline of events here...

I thought previously and wonder now after hearing his account of things if he still wasn't really REALLY REALLY worried until he heard from ER . Maybe he figured she would say " oh yeah dylan called a few hrs ago and said his phone was dead but he's with so n so over at the x y z ' and when ER said no such thing is when he said I need help from LE or ER said we have to get help from LE !

It doesn't sound like MR called the sheriff. Since MR went to Marshall's office, not the sheriff's (according to the interview he just did).

Please describe or give an example of ''
backing up circular sentence'' .
I've never heard this term. Tks
I thought from his first interview he said things that sounded
like a very articulate and educated man and then he throws in
an ' at ' at the end of every other sentence. But that is as far as
I got .

He could be, but Friday was probably his last day of work as originally Dylan was flying in Sat., then it was changed to Sunday.

You know I put 1000's of images because I can't remember exactly the number. I'll have to go find that info. It was a very, very high number of images. Honestly, following on the heels of the JR case, where that perp had counseling for his 🤬🤬🤬🤬 addition, I was a bit shocked to see this guy - who did a very short amount of time in jail for the amount of child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 he had - out and living in a community of families.

I'll look for that info and repost it.
