Last night or so on the FMDR page a mom whose son has been missing for over 3 yrs commented . It's just heart breaking :(
I went and read up on her son's case here and I just don't know how she does it.
Hopefully Dylan will not end up the same way .

What case was this Schmae?

Hi Tingles!!!!!! :cheer: Great to see you! Hope that baby is doing well (and mommy too of course!)

Seeing as how we are discussing the last known words of a missing child, I don't see the humor in that. Good night

I'm just catching up, so this is after the fact. But I totally agree. It's just not funny, particularly here. IMO

(Note: I wouldn't have commented, but I saw some of the posts that came afterwards and just wanted to let you know you're not alone.)

Not sure what is implied by the part bbm, but maybe that could explain away why nobody else saw Dylan that morning?
I wonder how many cars would actually travel along that stretch of road on a typical morning. Now I am wishing I had tallied just how many homes are along MR's section of road - no guarantee of course that every one of those residents were out and about in their vehicles that morning. The point is - there might have only been one vehicle in a particular time frame -and that could have been the one.

What is implied by that part is that vast majority of people that could have possibly randomly showed up at MR's house wouldn't be interested in kidnapping of a 13 year old boy.

Hey nurse! :) Thank you! Hope you are well. Bub is doing ok. She's one month old on Tuesday, I can't believe it! I'm exhausted lol. Try to check in here when I can!

Why wasn't Dylan responding to his friend prior to this supposed person showing up (by the way, not that many people are going to be interested in a 13 year old boy)? Considering that according to MR, Dylan had time to eat breakfast and watch TV? MR claims that a bowl was in the sink, and TV was on Nickelodeon. So why wasn't Dylan responding to his friend, considering he was already late for their meeting?

BBM, I respectfully must disagree. For every gender , race and age of a child, there are TONS of predators looking for that exact victim !

Well we know of one vehicle that was on the road!

Im talking about when he comes home at 11 30 and finds Dylan gone why didnt he send Elaine a text asking if she had heard from him and knew where he was?
He takes a nap instead!

then calls her at 5 and tells her hes missing have you heard from him it was a little late dont you agree?

BBM - Yes, I think you two are talking about two different times, at least initially. I think you might be on the same page now! ER didn't go to sleep after MR's text; she grabbed some clothes, Dylan's brother, and headed out.

IMO

But the scenario suggested that there was some random person showing up at that remote area, not looking for any victims, but deciding for whatever reason to kidnap a 13 year old boy.

I hope they are too and hope they can clear a lot of areas.

OH no. I'll never remember the name. I searched for it but did not comment.
The family is Canadian. The mother signed up here and commented. Her son was 13 or 15 or so when he went missing and I believe it was 2008, Perhaps a really skilled WSer will remember. I think the name was CORRECTED BELOW or something like this. I'm horrible with memory I'm so sorry.

Sorry I found her, last name Degerness :( so sad.

MR doesn't say Dylan wouldn't have gone with a stranger. In fact he claimed Dylan never met a stranger. Clearly to me, implying that Dylan could have easily gone off with a stranger.

that's exactly what MR wants the public to think IMO but it isn't necessarily true...

just because Dylan may have been friendly & outgoing doesn't mean he totally lacked common sense.

But did he?

I say Nay!

I agree it's HIGHLY unlikely maybe even bordering on impossible.
But the way this case looks right now, rule out NOTHING . It's all
possible not matter how unlikely.

My scenario was not a random person. It would have been someone that lived or worked nearby and had reason to be on that road AND was familiar to Dylan through some means that would have encouraged trust - ie, friend of a friend or friend's parent or older sibling, someone from school or church or other activity, etc. Which would really narrow down the list because it doesn't look like many people live up there.

Looking at Google maps, it looks like a lot more houses are south of MR's - maybe Dylan did walk that far? I don't see that scenario though because of the phone and the backpack issues.

Why would that someone show up there, considering Dylan was supposed to have been gone to see his friend, and MR was supposed to have been gone to deal with his payroll issues?
