I have no doubt. I can't see it having gone any other way. That's all it was for, so once again, I do not see why he even agreed to go on it. IMO

To do right by his son I would hope was the reason he went on it . He needs no other reason IMO

Yes, at this point, my concern is for Dylan who is either in grave danger or deceased. What does it matter if some anonymous FB posters find MR cringeworthy? I'm more swayed by the opinion of those who know him and believe he could be involved in his son's disappearance. All MOO

Thank you. And that is exactly what I meant. Why is anyone getting all wrapped up about what a small bunch of people are saying or how they are behaving on a FB site? Don't like it? Don't read it! If you want to read it for the small bits of information provided, scroll and roll past the BS until you see if there is anything newsworthy and don't worry about the rest of it! If you don't like Dr. Phil and you think it will be a MR bash session, don't watch it! If your opinion is swayed by those who know relatively nothing, then I really don't know what to say!

I wonder what went on today with the dogs. The K-9 Forensics FB page says they were joined by White Mountain SAR (out of Ruidoso, NM) and were briefing this morning. No mention at all on the official FMDR or the other page.

I am confused about these various search dog groups from out of state. Doesn't Colorado have plenty of teams of their own? It is a much more populous state than NM and surely has plenty of ways for people to get lost. Anyway, just curious to me.

But didn't K-9 Forensics offer their assistance for free? I don't know how all that works. Do most SAR groups charge?

That particular area of Colorado is very close to the New Mexico border

I don't think they charge. I know TES doesn't.
I know Durango is near NM, but ABQ is four hour aways and Ruidoso probably six or seven.

I guess maybe no one in CO has stepped up to offer? It doesn't matter really, just wondering CO groups have not volunteered, I guess.

Interesting. Does anyone know why White Mountain joined them? Did they just need more help for coverage, or is there something else?

Here is something I have been wondering:

How could Mark have known what was and was not in Dylan's backpack?

At one point in the interview he acts like he doesn't know what clothes DR brought with him but then at another point

In his uncut interview MR says:"Dylan had no games or anything in his backpack."

------------------------------------------------------------
I completely agree. When my kid comes home with his backpack, he usually throws it on the sofa or bed and goes off doing his thing. I virtually never look or go through his backpack – I have no need to, it's his stuff. Mark obviously looked through the backpack. This is especially interesting given that they (allegedly) got home at 8:30-ish, were both very tired, and went to bed 2 hours later. Why would he have gone through D's backpack at home? I can't think of many logical reasons.

Also at that age most teenagers like privacy so I can't see Dylan jet letting him randomly go though his bag for no reason . It's a total invasion of privacy ..'moo

IIRC, the original dogs came from NM because they were the closest available (State or County dogs).

Now that the LE is not actively searching, those SAR groups can't get involved (they must be called by LE). So, it then goes to your orgs like Klaas, TES, LRC, etc (who generally want to work with LE and have their blessing) and then from there goes down to the rest of the people with dogs out there.

All I know is that even if I wanted to go through my daughter's backpack I would definitely have to do it when she was not around, and according to his account of Sunday night where they seem to be together the whole time, until Mark "ran" to bed before DR, when would he have had alone time to look through Dylan's backpack? I say MR looked through it after DR was gone and before MR disposed of it. Just sayin'

Maybe he asked. Or maybe MR doesn't have an X-box and obviously Dylan didn't bring it from home, so it wouldn't take much to put 2 and 2 together. :waitasec:

As a possibility, I'm going with Dylan possibly complaining that he had no games or anything with him or he dumped his backpack out looking for a game and discovered he'd forgotten to pack his DS/Gameboy/PSwhatever and/or games. While my son was considerably younger than this when he decided to pack his own "entertainment bag" for a trip, he had a charger and games, but no ds. (fortunately, his sister packed hers, and they shared). Just throwing out a possibility. This is why I sit on the fence all the time....

Is this so it gets viewers on the night ?
That's very cynical. I like how you think. (If you did not intend to be cynical, I apologize, and still like the concept)

There's a post on th K-9 Fornsics FB page that says the team was in Durangonon December 19 but it does not state for which case. Does that time in with any known searches for Dylan?

It is pretty strange to me that MR would know what was in Dylan's backpack. How would this come about in the few short hours they were together? Dylan had just come off of a plane, so clearly he did not have drugs or weapons.

As far as Colorado search groups seemingly not offering to help, I was just hoping it is not because it has become a kind of "rumor" that Dylan is simply caught up in a custody battle and that it would be a waste of time. But I guess it makes sense that local/state groups would not want to "cross" LE. Although I do not understand LE not reaching out for help.

I was thinking more on the lines of MR and ER had possibly discussed what Dylan had brought with him, so they could tell LE and the searchers what kinds of things to look for. In one of ER's interviews or statements she rattles off what Dylan would have brought with him. She mentions his cell phone, ipod, chargers for both etc. So, there is a good chance that his belongings had been discussed between the parents or the parents and LE.
