I wonder what CC thinks of him now??
This probably isn’t news to him. He’d chalk it up to “every rancher does things a bit differently.”

I get that, but I’ve got to believe all witnesses who may testify to the same events, etc. aren’t necessarily going to be testifying on the same day. So if you can’t prevent all witnesses from “being tainted” I don’t understand the point of limiting press freedoms.

I know live tweeting wasn’t permitted during CW sentencing hearing. Not sure why they were banned frankly other than to show respect to victim’s family. There were no witnesses outside of the courtroom so the “influenced witnesses” concern PF’s defense is claiming didn’t apply. It wasn’t that big of a deal since it was only a couple of hours long and everything could be disclosed that same day.

When a trial isn’t televised what’s typical protocol for high-profile multi-day criminal trials now? Not just in CO, but in general?

Patrick Frazee makes final court appearance before trial
[...]

During Friday’s hearing, a judge ruled the jury can hear statements Berreth made to her mother and coworkers about her relationship with Frazee, according to KRDO. However, that same judge ruled the jury will not be able to hear allegations that Frazee beat his cattle, saying it doesn’t have value in this particular trial.

[...]

During Friday’s hearing, the judge also heard from both the defense and prosecutors about the decorum ruling in the trial, which allows media and other people in the gallery to live-tweet their observations.

According to KRDO, the judge may update the order.

Frazee’s trial is expected to last three weeks and will begin on Oct. 28. 9NEWS will have two reporters in the courtroom and will provide updates throughout the process.

I agree and it seems unconstitutional. This judge is bending over backwards for PF in my opinion. We will never get the full story.

I understand about your job. Maybe another WS member can attend.

I wish dad with a phone from WP could attend but they want to keep him out also, at least he could give nightly updates. May not be MSM but let’s face it, even MSM gets it wrong most of the time. (Sorry Sam! We know you try.)

With all due respect to famed journalist Chris Spargo, DWAP actually draws more of my ire.

Longwinded, nonsensical drunken ramblings aren’t my thing. I’ve never seen so little fame go to someone’s head as much as it has in his case.

Andrea Canning was lucky to escape with her life with him behind the wheel.

What a headline that made, huh? MOO
I think it was an exaggeration. I believe the witness they are referring to is the lady who will not let PF work with her horse because she said he seemed cruel to horses or dogs. She never said cattle and never said he hit them with a metal rod.
Although, there may be other witnesses that the DA wanted to bring forward.

I do believe the word “bludgeoned” was an exaggeration.

That makes sense.

I don't believe this was reference to statement PF said for the first time after KB missing and prior to his arrest, but witnesses that came forward after KB disappeared --they provided statements PF previously made to them.

MOO
Shucks! And I was hoping he'd been recruiting someone to help him eliminate the one person HE thought could implicate him. Not really. It's not that I want to see her suffer the same fate, I just wanted her to see she was next on his "hit" list. Might deflate her ego a bit.

Truth is, CB and Kelsey's friends are going to sink his ship! And, his own stupidity of course and that includes KK :)

But....he has been right about some things. And he has talked about how the Frazee family are dysfunctional. MaF sits on front row at hearings. PFs Sister sits in the back alone. Brother doesn’t even show up.

Wouldn’t you think family should show a sign of unity, one way or the other?

Good comparison though to Spargo.

I would like to see PF confess and take KK down with him. She should not be loose in our society. Jmo

Well he has the benefit of not being a journalist, and thus, doesn’t have to follow ethical guidelines.

We do learn things from him that we can’t from traditional means though.

Come trial, I do think we’ll see a display of unity, if only for the benefit of the jury.

But can you imagine how powerful it would be for a former gf/lover to testify how he threatened similar fate for her, and she couldn't run fast enough! Perhaps even her mother is a witness.

ETA: Take note this is not about KK but prior G/F that spoke out early as did her mother about how dangerous PF was. Textbook narc/socio behavior: charm, charm, devalue, discard.

You might be right there, well no, come to think of it. We won’t SEE anything because the judge won’t allow it.

Run fast enough? Only way she ran was TO a crime scene to clean it up. She was never afraid of PF.

She didn’t stay in Idaho and call LE. She didn’t run and hide her children. Nope. She kept her deal, cleaned up, took a nap at his house, scurried on back to Idaho so she could hop on that plane with her friends to party in Vegas. Her competition was dead and she had to celebrate.
Her kids? Oh they were left home with hubby. No time for them. All the time in the world for PF.

^^sbm

Actually, I think the aged law is already written for the Court not to allow any "electronics" without prior court permission.

In this day and age - cell phones, lap tops, ipads, cameras, etc. are included in definition of electronics that will be banned to prevent photos, tweets, and/or any transmissions from the courtroom while court in session. Hence the days of "notepad journalism."

Not KK, the former girlfriend who he may have threatened.

I'm sorry I was not clear -- I'm referring to PF's g/f prior to KB and KK.

She gave interview from prison where she was incarcerated for unrelated offense. Her mother was also very vocal about how dangerous PF was.

I’m excited to hear what KB said about SF to coworkers. Hope that comes in. Also, of course, the 2-5 phone call.

The beating a horse with a baseball bat? Wth! People were really questioning accounts of animal abuse or downplaying them as that’s just how we do things in the country. I find t repellent and a good indicator of character.

I know a couple farmers. Friends in NZ and relations in Australia. We’ve spent time with them. I observed. To my knowledge they don’t beat animals.

It also sounds very much like a practice session to observe what a bat would do.

Hopefully, every time they take a break, the reporters will rush out to the telegraph and tap out messages for us.

Smoke signals, perhaps?

There are plenty of high profile trials that have been live streamed...it depends on the state. Here in FL we have the Sunshine Law that allows the public access to a lot. Right now one of the Sievers trials is going on...very high profile...live streaming, tweets, etc. Heck, even the Aaron Hernandez trials were live streamed in MA. CO is a bit different, but one stationary camera was allowed to be streamed for the James Holmes trial and that was very high profile...all depends on the judge.

Even though tweeting real time 'may' not be allowed here, rest assured the news media will get the details out...during breaks, lunchtime airtime and evenings.

Anyways, trials by tweets loose a lot, but better than nothing.

Being banned from a courtroom won't keep Chris Spargo from writing his garbage.
That fiction requires only his imagination.
