People opined the way he was holding his arm during interview may have signaled an injury he sustained. Although that may be possible he did receive injuries, my take on it is that he was hugging and conforting himself.

He reminded me of a self-conscious teenage boy who for some reason has to be shirtless and is really, really not happy about it.

Sad, isn't it? They now have done studies that have shown people often get depressed after reading social media.

Because everyone appears to have it better. Trips, photoshopped pictures, smiling faces galore! Sorry, life just isn't like that. It's a make-believe word, a highlight reel of only the good parts.

It's why I often post photo's of myself in hot rollers and my bathrobe that my poor friends have to look at, lol. But, hello, this is reality.

Social media is not reality.

That's hilarious. I did post a photo of me in a weird green facial mask once.

Oil started falling in 2014/2015. He may have accepted a demotion or major pay cut just to stay employed.

Shanann did not start selling thrive until 2015 and didn't leave her job for it until 2016, according to an article I read earlier.

The 2013-2015 income drop likely had nothing to do with her employment. We don't know what their income looked like recently.

BBM

I think there have been a couple of reports about her leaving him (one used the word "infidelity"), but here is one from the media thread:
AUGUST 16, 2018
Shanann Watts murder case: Friends, family recall life of slain NC native :: WRAL.com
"She mentioned about them having problems, Shanann and Chris," Search said.
Search said Onorati told her the two were planning to separate.

ETA: Here is the article that mentions infidelity. This is a different friend than the one mentioned above.

Chris Watts case: Everything we know so far about the alleged murders of his wife, daughters
Thayer said she had been told last week by Shanann that she had concerns of infidelity on Chris’ behalf. “She said that it came to her mind that possibly he could be cheating but at the same time, she was like, you know, he has no game,” Thayer said.

I watched a little of his YouTube video of his speech. VERY telling. "Sometimes you have a lot of distractions like work, hobbies or a relationship. And it weakens your bond with your spouse...."

Thanks for posting the interview/evaluation.
I'm surprised the psychologist -- and maybe he did later -- didn't mention that this is a good example of a sociopath. That's what his actions and answers indicate to me -- smooth, riding above it all, putting in all in a compartment on a shelf somewhere else, no remorse, no regret, in control, etc. He seems to have no remorse, he can look at it as if it doesn't involve him. Cold and cool at the same time. No conscience.

I am not the most perceptive person on the planet, but when I watched his interview I had a high suspicion that he had done something to his wife (and kids): his body language and his tone of voice, was almost, well, light-hearted: he was sort of even smiling if i recall--- besides the fact that her car, purse and phone were still home and he he said they had an "emotional conversation" in the middle of the night---

Reminds me of the Scott Peterson deal and Amber who came forward with no clue. If he was cheating I'd hate to be the mistress now
Scott Peterson had a mistress.
Sgt. Maliek Kearney had a mistress.
Chris Coleman has a mistress.
Justin Barber had multiple mistresses.

I don't want to go on because 1) I'll be here all day and 2) it's all too sickening. These men are scraping the bottom of a barrel that has no end.

"Please number every pleading" made me laugh. Poor judges.

Interesting! What made Anadarko look at security tapes? The wife/kids of one of their employees went missing. Would that automatically trigger them to review security tapes? Maybe they were asked to confirm his “alibi” and they discovered him where he wasn’t supposed to be??
He was suspicious from the start. LE could have asked for the security videos of where he worked.

Along those lines, also interesting is his area of "expertise"

I wonder if CW was on steroids. People that get into fitness sometimes go overboard with body imagine. I’ve seen it time and time again where people see great results and want more, more, more.

Was CW seen putting the bodies into the tanks on the security tapes??? I am wondering how they knew to look in them, did CW tell them. I can not imagine the people who had to retrieve those little bodies out of them. Makes me sick.

  • #332
I honestly think he just ran out of time and that's why he just dumped her body and didn't put it in a tank also.

ETA: I picked up the wrong reply quote. It was supposed to be from Doghairrules #338. Sorry, I am inept at fixing!

And really did he not assume he would be arrested once they found the bodies AT HIS WORK??? It sounds like Shanann wasn’t even hidden. What was his plan here?

I think he planned to go home and stage the house and then go back and hide her better before they were reported missing but her friend showing up at the door destroyed his plan. That is why he rushed home even though not answering the door is perfectly reasonable and nothing to worry about typically.

I'm prejudiced by my intense dislike of MLM, but I'm not at all confident that she was having successes in the business world.

On the other hand, maybe she focused so hard on projecting the image that his reaction was as you described above, anyway.

It’s a good example to point to though for MLM. From what I understand the brainwashing can result in lofty choices. Keeping up the image of the projected success while it’s not yet in the bank account and the pressure of surviving it behind the scenes. Problem is very few make it to the top, though it is accurate in the sense of it being achieved. That gives a false reality to the other 99%.

I noticed a reference to him doing it as well. A lot of people leave a secure job to catch the dream wave. For being in it as far back as 2013 the results$$$$ shown in the lingo captions don’t sync.

I wonder if they checked the tapes to see if he was early/late to work since it was part of the story. And, then they noticed his suspicious behavior.

ETA: When I say “part if the story” I mean his leaving for work at 5:15 am. Was that the typical time...?

Agreed. It is sometimes what people call growing apart. I may be wrong but there is just something that makes me believe he was more afraid of losing her then the other way around. I feel this guy had fears of abandonment. A few people claimed SW was going to seperate from him. That would send someone like that over the edge.

Another thing I want to mention is him telling the people that he was staying with that they had financial problems which would lead them to have to sell the house. This could very well be just his cover story for selling and moving away. Another way to look at it though is he is not the one who wore the pants in the family so to speak. I mean the strong type that took control and would lead his family through this crisis. He may have been just the opposite. Used to strong women in his life that always "fixed" things for him. A person like that would find themselves lost with that person gone even if he himself is responsible for it. I take him has the more submissive, passive aggressive sort. I think his wife was the one that lead them and kept it all together. Kind of like this guy had mommy issues.

And how does a defense attorney look at such a killer and say “Well, I’ll do my best to help get you off.”

Sorry, but I’m generally not a fan of most defense attorneys. I know they are there to protect the rights of the defendant. But I feel many operate less by “providing the best defense under the law” than “I want to win my case. Period.” I don’t like the tactics many defense attorneys employ. Providing a fair defense doesn’t mean getting your client off. /rant

ugh oh

the time has come!

A colleague of mine and I were close . Her husband (loved him) is a prominent judge here. We all went out. What follows is sadly, the truth about justice in our contry

I am not good with shift keys and quote marks so bear with me

here is how it really works

Perry Mason (!) gives the idea that all are adversaries (prosecutors, judges, defense attorneys) nothing could be more untrue!

They are dear friends, there kids know each others kids . The travel together (a fondness for cruising all the kids!)

here is how it works!

Happy hour after we all got out of the office

A couple from our office a couple from her husbands office get together

here we go

initial meet great get seated

superficial talk first round

then justice begins!

d is the defense attorney for Chris!

p is the prosecutor handling prosecuting Chris !

j is the judge in chris case

second round of cocktails arrive

(we have to make it a case that is far along tho!)

and so it begins

d says to p (for chris case!) Ill give you 30 years in jail with no death penalty

everyone leans their heads back chuckle and take a sip of their cocktail

p responds what am i gonna do with you d - you know i am not taking that

heads go back another chuckle and a sip

d says back ok i will give you 40

another p at the table chimes in

your being stupid you know there is no way that is happening

heads go back chuckle another sip

another p at the table chimes you to d attorney

your sitting in front of bob you guys know he will throw you out of his court if you two try that BS

another chuckles

All the judges, prosecutors def attorneys know what crimes judges are hard on what they are lentiant they all work with each other for days

they all know much of nothing has anything to do with the case . It depends on who the judge is. The whole game - starts with that

They all also know which def attorney will take folks to trial which will want to plea it out

everyone in the game knows all this

none of it has anything to do with guilt or innocence

its really like a locker room

a touchdown is:
for def attornees =not guilty or plea

for prosecutors = guilty or no contest

for judges - fastest way to clear out their docket

back to dinner

p i will give you life without parole

d death penalty off the table

p i will have to talk with rick but i think i can get him to accept that

another def attorney at the table chimes in bob (the judge!) will probably be fine with that

d ok i will take it back to client and will you give me call next week and let me know if you guys will accept this

p sure well all talk next week

next case pls.................................

I just want to add for the record that real estate prices are much more expensive here than many other areas of the country. So, for the same price, what will buy you a mansion in other places will get you a much smaller property here. The cost of living in Colorado has been going up, up, up, and more people are moving to Colorado every day, especially due to the legalization of marijuana. I read a stat at somewhere around 10,000 people a month moving to CO. The Denver area is one of the fastest growing areas in the country from what I understand. Many people I know can barely afford to live here (including myself haha) as prices are just going up and up. It’s getting to be like New York and California (actually it has been for a while imo). Frederick is known as one of the more affordable places to live in the area.

Also, not sure if mentioned, but this is the second time that Frederick has endured a major tragedy lately. The other was when there was a natural gas explosion in the neighborhood, a house blew up and lives were lost.
After fatal house explosion, Anadarko Petroleum to shut down 3,000 wells in northeastern Colorado – The Denver Post

I wondered this also. He does have a rather thick neck in some photos. And based on his biceps he was definitely doing
free weights.
I've had dealings with guys on steroids at my fitness club and they are like
aggressive wild boars. ANGER!!!!

He was suspicious from the start. LE could have asked for the security videos of where he worked.

The reports have been consistent that he confessed and said he would lead LE to the bodies. He was arrested and LE eventually located the bodies. Later reports indicated his family coming in on Wednesday prompted him to go to LE and confess.

I'm betting Andarko has vast tracts of land, much of which is not covered by security cameras. Without specific info it would be hard to know where to look.
