Suzanne's missing photo shows her wearing AirPods which can be tracked similar to an iPhone.

I have never seen where volunteers were not asked to help search.

1. "The father of a Minnesota woman missing for a month and presumed dead is making a plea to community members to join the search for his daughter's body this weekend."

2. "Milwaukee police are asking for your help in their search for a missing 31-year-old woman."

3. Missing Wheaton MN man: "Sunday morning, the sheriff's office is organizing a ground search for McCoy and asking for the public to join the effort. They are asking volunteers to meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Wheaton High School parking lot on Sunday."

There are so many others also. It is beneficial when the community comes together and searches together.

SM is the only one (I've seen) where LE refused help from outside LE. There is a substantial reason they have refused outside help.
MOO

To be fair, I’ve seen a number. One was Gannon Stauch’s case. They don’t want volunteers trooping around and possibly needing to be rescued themselves.

It is somewhat interesting that TD called the LE TIP Line, but LE wasn't interested in the information that he had to offer. Quoting CrimeOnLine interview article posted June 2, 2020:
"Draper said he contacted the Chaffee County Sheriff’s tip line and left at least one message about his encounters with Morphew, but as of Monday evening had not heard back."
YouTuber who ‘secretly’ recorded video of Barry Morphew discussing wife’s disappearance says he believes Suzanne Morphew’s husband knew the camera was on

There is no evidence that LE wasn't interested in the information that he [TD] had to offer. We have no idea of the date and time that TD left a message on the tip line as it was not stated. For all we know, it could have been minutes before he was cited that as of Monday evening had not heard back. We also don't know what TD said in his message. Nonetheless, no evidence that LE wasn't interested. MOO BBM

If msm viewed the message, the sender should be on the email. Probably just deleted to protect the source. Or call the church. Someone would tell you. They don’t have anything to hide.
I recall this was an exclusive Crimeonline report and the reporter was allowed to read the email message but the sender's name was protected and/or not disclosed.

There is no evidence that they were interested, either. There is only the CrimeOnLine writer's statement that he told her he called the LE Tip Line, and LE didn't call him back. Seriously, what would they be interested in? The video doesn't show anything incriminating <modsnip> IMO

I’m okay with LE declining search help from private citizens, but I would have thought that they could have provided more of an update in their efforts to find Suzanne. They could again repeat their request to keep an eye out for anything out of place, and ask hikers/campers/kayakers to pay close attention. Maybe even state that although they are unsure what she was wearing, she usually wore X shoes or a distinctive watch or always had on a certain necklace-something to personalize her. Ah that’s what’s missing-nothing to make us identify and care about Suzanne.

BBM: Or they do not want to hurt their tourism as someone mentioned awhile back. ;)
LE does not put public safety or looking for a missing person on the back burner for the sake of tourism. IMO

Unfortunately they don't have GPS in them- you will only see where they were and when they were last connected...

-which might be useful if they found her phone and it would be interesting if they were home in the case while she was out on a "hypothetical" ride.

WS's own verified prosecutor told us the video is a prosecutor's dream! It seems you don't understand the recording can be turned over to them and used as evidence.

BM also stated that he was cleared by LE. Why would BM do that by stating as much on that video? If LE had truly told him he was cleared, but wanted to keep it quiet because they don't want to tip off the real perp, shouldn't he not go around telling strangers that information?

Imo, the interest was there, as two days after your referenced source TD made a video with and update and said he had spoken to CBI twice.

Im sure the investigators are busy and probably have set times they check the tip lines. Just because they didnt call him right back doesnt mean they arent interested. Imo.

<modsnip: Quoted post was modsnipped> - the entire interview should interest them. Jmho.

Yes. It’s possible. But unlikely in this case.

The bike is a key piece of evidence. If LE or others showed up and thought it was a bike accident, they could have easily contaminated the immediate area around the bike upon their initial search for an injured party. Nobody did anything wrong if that happened as they were doing the right thing. However, tracks and other evidence could have been disturbed during the process. IMO there is probably a good chance something like that happened and that is what the spouse of the missing person could have been referring to in the video...IMO

This is about a missing woman, nobody gives a rip about the fashion police.

Playing audio or video of the Defendant at trial, especially stuff that is not incriminating can also backfire on the government. Defendant gets to testify without getting on the stand = Criminal Defense attorney's dream!

A friendly reminder that we don't know what LE knows: Jessica Chambers (murdered, never missing). We never knew what they knew somewhat early on (communications between JC and QT via phone records and texts; local video) until Tellis was on trial for her murder.

It's possible - maybe probable - that by now, LE knows when and where she was last seen. I think it's even possible that they have recovered her.

Well, perhaps except it seems to me that BM is far from a Criminal Defense attorney's dream client! At this time, BM has two videos that can be used as evidence and I'd love for the jury to see both of them. Based on the video's I don't think a Criminal Defense attorney will be able to redeem BM in the juror's eyes! Nope, just not seeing it. Moo.

The updates they've provided have said they continue to search, they are talking to people in the community, they are following up on the many hundreds of tips submitted. They are not going to talk about any evidence or potential evidence or what direction the case is heading or who's a suspect and why or who's not a suspect.

They don't want or need the public to do anything outside of calling in info or a tip; I don't know how many ways they can emphasize this so the public can understand. No one knows what SM was wearing, including any jewelry, because no one saw her, except for the person who made her disappear. LE can't give out that information because they don't have it.

Common sense is if someone finds a body or human remains they should not touch anything, and they should call 911 as quickly as they can.

IMO

Unless there is something contradictory regarding the spouse of the missing person's statement about his whereabouts on MD in the second video, both of these seem pretty benign. He does establish opportunity for himself to be near the scene of the disappearance on MD. Other than that most good criminal defense lawyers would love to use those videos instead of putting their client on the stand and subjecting them to C-X...IMO

I agree with you. They don't need help other than what they ask for.

I posted upstream some links to missing people in National Parks. They specifically requested no volunteer searchers.

As far as her physical description there are pictures of her all over the web, in news articles, any tv news shots, the flyers. Back in the old days, they pretty much had to rely on written descriptions and grainy black and white newspaper photos.

When I hear a news blurb or read an article and want to know what someone looks like, I Google the heck out of that name or event. I'd be willing to bet that other people do this, too.

If so, it wouldn't be the first time someone used their mother *cough* mark sievers *cough*
We did not get to fully read the message. The one quote that stood out at me was that “Barry is beside himself...”. I found it odd that the message did not say something close to “We are all devastated and BM is beside himself... This and the description of the Lion attack which is very similar to the story BM related to TD, makes me consider that BM wrote the email and it was sent by another person.
