I think it's a different ship, not the Diamond Princess. There is another Princess stuck somewhere near California with positive patients on board.
Thank you so very much for your correction/observation. I was merely thinking how did a person get off when quarantined, but this must have been ANOTHER case from the Grand Princess that was on the
first leg, and got off before the second leg that got quarantined. (Same leg as the other person that got off that was THE person that waved the flag for this quarantine/testing).
Appreciate you taking the time to keep facts in line! It takes a WS team to do such for sure!
Officials announce first confirmed case of coronavirus in Utah
The Utah Department of Health
announced on Friday night that they have confirmed the first case of the novel coronavirus in the state.
Officials said the patient is believed to have been exposed to the virus when they were aboard the
Grand Princess cruise ship. They emphasized that this case is not from a community spread of the infection in the state of Utah.
The patient returned to Utah after leaving the cruise ship and began experiencing symptoms that are consistent with the COVID-19 virus, according to UDOH. The patient then went to their health care provider, who collected samples from them for testing.
The samples were sent to the Utah Public Health Laboratory for testing, where they were found to be a"presumptive positive," officials said. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevent will now test the samples to confirm the results.
