I think that's correct. The police seem very assured about that belief. It's very sad, these women seem to have lived low-key, self-contained lives and yet find themselves the objects of a scrutiny that is very much at odds with that.

Well, it's understandable. It's the way they've disappeared.

Their landlord shared concerns after finding many of the twins personal possessions inside the property. The twins also took only one of their phones out with them and left the other in the flat when they disappeared. Their brother Jozsef told the BBC that the family were completely unaware about them leaving one phone behind and added everything appeared normal.

"We don't understand this whole thing," he said. "That they wrote a message to their landlady, that they wanted to immediately end their tenancy agreement. We didn't have any information about that. So that's the strange thing, that the girls didn't tell us anything about that."

He said the sisters, who were two of triplets, did not share any financial issues with the family and had, in fact, been saving up to buy their own property. The sister's other triplet Edit Huszti said she spoke to her sisters on New Year's Eve and that they appeared in good spirit.

Do we know what the circumstances of their living arrangement was? Did they live in a flat in a house that was owned by the landlady or did they live in a self contained unit that was separate from the landlady. Did the landlady have other tenants? Was she the only person the women dealt with? Why does the family give conflicting information? On one hand they say they know everything about their lives that they are in regular contact with them. Then say the sisters never shared any financial information. Why would that be? I would think it's a pretty big deal to buy a property in a country with a housing crisis. Who told the family and LE they were saving up to buy their own property? The police, the landlady? Where did they keep their savings? In a bank? At home? How many people knew they had been saving this money?

If they are in the river then I think they were put there. When you see them on the cctv cameras they are walking with purpose. They are dressed for the weather. They are not carrying anything like backpacks or luggage. They thought they were returning to their homes. Which sister's phone was left behind?

It seems strange that the sisters wanted to immediately end their tenancy agreement, it looks like they wanted to leave the flat pretty quickly but why? What would prompt them to leave in such a hurry?

It doesn't sound like they had any financial worries because, according to their brother, they were saving up to buy their own property.

But the family didn't know that. They've stated the sisters never shared any financial information with the rest of the family so the information has either come from LE. Was that via the lips of the landlady or someone else?

What has the police investigation found?​

The landlord of the missing sisters had expressed concern for their welfare after many of their "personal possessions" were discovered inside the property. Officers say the sisters had one mobile phone with them but other devices were found at their home.

A massive land, sea and air search has failed to find any trace of the sisters or any personal belongings. Superintendent David Howieson of Police Scotland said there is "no evidence of criminality so far".

Officers believe they entered the water after going onto a footpath and didn't re-emerge from the path. The force also revealed there have been no suspicious financial transactions since their disappearance.

Screaming could indicate an accident (but why were they out at that time?) or I thought it could be more of a squeal/scream you might make entering freezing water. As much as you anticipate the cold, feeling it is another thing altogether.

Yep, that question has been postulated here. Presumably there was something obvious that concerned the landlady. Perhaps the place was a mess with items strewn everywhere. We really have no idea at present. The landlady called the police because she had concerns for their welfare not because she had concerns they'd done a runner without paying the rent or something.

Police Scotland has dismissed claims made about two missing sisters who disappeared in Aberdeen more than a week ago while walking through the city centre. According to media reports in their native Hungary, Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, both 32, had been partying with a 'group of males' before they suddenly vanished.

However, investigators have ruled any such gatherings out and said they had accurately and conclusively traced the pair - two of triplets - from their home to the location where they were last seen. The rebuttal comes after Hungarian news outlet Blikk quoted one woman in Aberdeen who said she knew the missing women, reports the Scottish Daily Express.

Giving her name only as Ana, she stated: "We know that the two girls were having fun with a friend of theirs, and a group of men (sic) and then when they were heading home...." But police sources said that was absolutely untrue and they know both women left their own home in the city early on the morning of Tuesday, January 7.

The police are allowed to lie in investigations. Especially if there's a possibility of criminal intent in their disappearance.

Has it ever been worked out what the sisters were carrying in the image?

The sister to the left seems to be carrying what looks what we have here in the American South and call a medium size round river rock. They are used here extensively in landscaping and in drainages for storm runoff so just walking along a sidewalk here there are plenty to grab from the landscaping. Maybe something similar native to Aberdeen.

Sorry to mention that but wonder what they are carrying.

Could be anything but it was something alarming enough to warrant reporting them missing IMO.

That would be suggestive of wanting to take their lives and not what the Police have suggested so far at all.

There is however a case which this fits which is the lady who left her home and entered water - i cannot think of her name she left behind a husband and young daughter. A health carer or nurse..

The Hungarian article says two things. Firstly they had been out enjoying male company before splitting up to return home. Secondly it has the father denying they'd been to a party.

If they had been out in male company its feasible they went home and then back out again.
