If the story is true, then it could give credence to one of the sisters accidently falling into the water - hence the screams.

There are residential properties over the road from the boathouse, so presumably someone from one of these houses heard the screams.
Oh, this gives a lot more info that has not been available before. Slightly dubious it is from The Sun but assume they have the info from a reliable source?

It does seem odd that the landlord reported them missing the same day they disappeared. Surely adult women are able to be away for a whole day, even missing a work shift, without that raising immediate concern?? I can’t imagine the landlord would be checking in on them daily??

The article does seem to hint they intentionally entered the water. An accident is of course plausible but surely there is no reason whatsoever 2 ladies would be in that area alone at that time in the morning.

I can’t tell from the map, could someone local help - if their goal was to intentionally go into the water it appears there other access points that would have been closer? And even if it was to get to that path specifically - that seems to be a round about walk? It looks like there is a more direct path but maybe not?

It said the alarm was raised by their landlord who got worried when they didn’t come home and then didn’t show up for work.

So did the landlord know they left the property around 2AM? How did he know the sisters didn't turn up for work?

what is CNR international? A bus station?

Maybe the work places phoned their home when they didn't show up.
I wouldn't take all the details from the Sun as gospel though.

I've followed enough missing person cases to realise that this is no longer the case in today's world. My opinion only. There may be factors that we are not privvy to which have caused concerns to be heightened.

The ladies may live in the same property as the landlord.

I totally agree.

I would have thought that, given all the
possible circumstances, they would have had their phones in their hands - for security, light, etc. But apparently not. But also, if their intention was just to enter the river, why carry anything?

It might just be poorly written but this (from the Scottish Sun article) makes it sound as if they live with the landlord:

It’s understood the alarm was raised by their landlord who got worried when they didn’t come home and then didn’t show up for work.

In the normal course of events, you might imagine them not turning up to work being the first red flag, after which their employers or the police might contact the landlord. Not the landlord being the first person to notice.

I am from Aberdeen. I would agree there are other points to enter the water closer to where they live (e.g the harbour). However as others have pointed out, this is a very quiet area where the water is easily accessed. It’s so hard to say without knowing their intentions. It is a good 25 minute walk from their flat but perhaps is an area they know?

What is odd, is that the area they have indicated they live is not as close to Charlotte Street (CCTV picture) as I expected. If the flat location is correct and the CCTV picture is from the same night, they have walked up into town, then back down towards Market Street and not the outlined route.

I have attached a map. Circled red is approx area they live, Charlotte St is marked above and you can see Boat Club at the bottom.

From the map attached to the latest article, it looks like they possibly lived on Crown Street which is just off Union Street.

Canadian Natural Resources Limited - a multi-national firm in the gas and oil exploration business. Aberdeen is the centre of the North Sea Oil industry in the UK. CNR are based in St. Magnus House, Guild Street, Aberdeen. Eliza and Henrietta would have walked past the side of this building (on their right) as they walked down Market Street.

If I was walking from where the location on the map is for where they stay, to the boat club, I would be walking from Crown Street down South College which takes you right to the roundabout.

I wonder if their home is an HMO. The article referred to the landlord raising the alarm. There def used to be some B&B’s and hotels on Crown Street and there are several hotels around Union Street and the bus station. The Travelodge is right on the corner of Union St and Union Terrace. I wonder if landlord means rental property landlord or possibly landlord of a pub/hotel/B&B. Some of the hotels will have rooms that their staff stay in. When did the landlord raise the alarm?

Well at least they told us who reported the sisters missing, and they've published a map of where they lived and the route they took to the river path - something no other MSM has done so far.

I wonder why they took that particular route to the river, why not walk down the opposite side of the Dee?

So my thoughts now are that they went into town to collect something held in the cross body bag then went to a meeting point down by the river.
Any number of things already discussed could have happened after this point. Screams do not sound good at all unfortunately

Is there any chance they could have been meeting someone with a boat who would take something home to Hungary for them? Cash in the bag to help their family there?

For landlord, I'm wondering if it was a three-room flat situation, where landlord rents out a couple of rooms and would know if tenants were out.

Desperately trying to think of reasons for their walk that way and also ways for it to end okay....

The yellow line is the route they took so they cut through the bus station to get onto Market St. Was it the Costa in Union Sq one of them works at?

I've been making that point from quite early on in the thread when they were located in the CCTV image. Makes even less sense if their house was located even further West and they needed to get down to and beyond that roundabout.

I agree, they could have taken that route for a reason. The map shows that they cut through the bus station to get onto Market St. Could they have picked something up or dropped something off? Was it the Costa in Union Sq one of them works? The shopping centre would have been closed at that time but I suppose there could be a letter box at Union Sq that someone could post something through the door.
