The sister in the lighter coat is carrying a small evening handbag and wearing high heels. The other girl is wearing boots and I think she has dark-rimmed glasses. There is no other bag in her hand, only the stairs are visible. I've improved the camera footage.

Looking at the CCTV and IF they were leaving intent on entering the water why would they take a handbag/crossover bag that for me makes no sense....
The sister on the left of the picture released is carrying something in her right hand.

It says that they were close with their family, were they sending money home to the mother, brother, or sister?
Could the family be dependent on them?
More than likely.
The family haven't even flown over from Hungary to Scotland yet, and I presume that might be due to a lack of money?

Although flights from Hungary to the UK are at the cheapest in January/February, certainly you could get a flight for under £100, possibly even return for that with Wizz Air or Ryanair.

Just thinking out aloud, they've been in the UK for 10 years, so do the twins have British passports? Sometimes you can apply for them after 6 years.

Now that the UK is no longer part of the EU, I was wondering what their immigration status is now, if they don't have British passports?

They are not likely to get working visas or permanent leave to remain working at a hotel and a coffee shop. Those visas are for professionals or skilled people.

I was wondering if they were worried about having to return to Hungary and if they felt like they were letting their families down financially and felt ashamed, or the responsibility of it all was too much.

MOO.

What information do we have about the money the sisters had saved?

Surely they have at least settled status.

Yes, you would think so.....

I wish the police would put out some information, especially about what made the landlady contact the police so urgently.

I agree the left looks like heels. Even if boots with heels. Imagine walking down that path

I was thinking they look like boots with a wedge heel maybe. Possibly patent because they look shiny.

Yeah I could see seems but either way walking on that path in the conditions described seems awful

So we ruled out a fall and immediately drowning because of the water level and slope but

A fall with a head injury into the water and the other not leaving and entering into cold water shock and hypothermia could be realistic?

This sounds like a lot of unfortunate events to occur, and that's on top of the explanation of being in that spot in the first place, on that isolated path at gone 2am on a freezing weeknight.

What kind of commercial buildings or warehouses are in the area along the path? It looks very industrial in some pictures.

It’s really only one. A fall. The other sister would naturally go to her rescue.

I would say, the process of becoming a British citizen is fairly easy but the price is high.

It costs £1,630 to apply - per person. I doubt they would want to spend that amount of money as settled status gives them pretty much the same rights.

The fact they were saving for a mortgage here tells me they must have settled status no? Unless they weren't saving for a mortgage atall and they painted a fairytale picture of life here in Scotland....

Police will know from bank account data how much each of them have in their accounts which will also paint a picture of each of their circumstances IMO

Car garages and fish houses mainly on the right hand side of South Esplanade West.
The buildings in the yellow circled area below have been demolished so the whole section on the left side of South Esplanade West from the boat house (purple arrow) onwards is waste land until you reach the small cafe at the end of the river path. Worth noting that South Esplanade West is a one way street.
I'm not sure if there are CCTV cameras on Murrays Lane or Cabels Lane, both of which would be swift exit routes to get back out the south side of the city without driving through Torry.

Kind of dressy then?

Sorry for earlier speculation too late to edit.

All imo

Hard to tell for sure, it's a crappy picture.

Yes i cannot tell at all what footwear. I dont see high heels. Maybe trainer wedges. And i am not sure what the left hand sister could be holding, maybe thick gloves, they are certainly wrapped up with scarfs. It is crazy to me that you would wrap up warm knowing you are entering water shortly. Didn't Gaynor Lord strip down before entering the river she was later found....which was December time.
