Unbelievable that there was DNA that wasn’t tested.

Sounds like they maybe didn't know they had DNA (that an item contained DNA). If that's the case, thank goodness it was preserved. Perhaps advancements in testing have made testing possible in a way it hadn't been possible or even detected.

I hope it leads to an arrest.

Apologies if this has been discussed recently. I left off on this case a few years ago and haven’t quite caught up.

IF they do actually have some DNA in possession that hasn’t yet been tested, is this a case where they would do that method of building out a family tree using a DNA database?

Even if they can, I have to think it would be of limited help if the perp was a migrant worker, which I think is highly possible. Sadly.
