So when he said I wish I would have just gone downstairs and called 911, what did he need to go downstairs for? Couldn't he use the cell that he was texting Jenn from about Maddie being in her nest at 1130 pm? Oh wait maybe when he left the room twice, he left his cell downstairs.
I know it probably means nothing but he needs to get his story straight his little slips will cause him problems.

Yes, but I think since he admittedly gave her the nighttime meds (in whatever quantity), even IF overdose was somehow plausible as a cause, he still would have been culpable for the "accident." I wouldn't put it past him to try to claim that as his defense for that case. But he didn't say natural causes nor imply she somehow took her own life. Accident is "too much meds" or "fell downstairs" (don't give him any ideas at this point, right).
It's a specific act/event, I guess is what I'm trying to say. So, still his fault, even in the most BS-iest of attempted excuses laid out.

I believe the abuse started when she was 8 yrs old, shortly after him moving in. I also believe he most definitely wanted her first time doing anything sexual (his penis in her mouth) captured so he can either rewatch it, and/or share it with others like him on the dark web. JMO!

With the greatest of respect, an environmental predator like this is unlikely to have 'started' with oral rape that he's videoing. There would have been a long period of escalating abuse before getting to this level. He would have had to have conditioned her to the point that he felt comfortable abusing her in this way, to this degree, without feeling like there would be negative consequences from it, like her disclosing.
Does this open up a plan by SS to insert the possibility that JS came in and caused her death?
That was my first thought, but after his father heard SS say "I discovered her at dawn, blue lips, pale skin, " his father talked about "anyone who had any involvement should be held accountable " ( paraphrasing) SS shut that down by saying, don't get your hopes up with any conspiracy theories"
Do we really know if they don't have a video of her death? While I could be wrong about this... I've often wondered if he filmed her death, either accidentally (he was filming sex with her as per usual, and whatever 'happened' happened and it got caught on tape, OR purposely decided to make a snuff film). Keep in mind his timing of logging into Telegram where that sort of uckiness is traded/viewed. Also keep in mind he liked little girls and Maddie was blossoming into a young woman so her 'usefulness' was no longer.
He's a user through and through. He takes what he wants, when he wants it (sex from little girls, sneaking pictures of women when they aren't aware they are being filmed), etc.
I'm going to venture a guess that he doesn't actually love his parents. He definitely LIKES that they give him things, and that they are there to support and help him, but I think that's part of his User personality. He's using them for what he can get from them, but I'm not sure he loves them.
you could be right, He seems to be the kind of person that has little empathy, who doesn't even consider how someone else feels. it doesn't even factor in. it's all about his needs. He also doesn't consider accountabulty, probably never had to be accountable before. so when he is he acts like the victim.
