would the skull hold fingerprints? if so, then it may hold the persons who left it there as well as the person who took it to police, potentially wiping out the earlier fingerprints? unless it was the same person?

sorry im not sure how to start a thread for the little girl, someone else might,If you have the time, it would be great to have a thread for her, especially as international movement is not ruled out (a unconfirmed sighting in Vienna, Austria is currently being investigated by the LE and she is added to Interpol, though as always, probabilities are that she is closer to home, one way or the other). As for Émile, I suspect we're in for a long silence, then maybe we get the CoD (is it usually published in France in such cases?), and if any further investigation is needed, there will probably be another long silence. If it is ruled undetermined and if no more bones are found, I am not even sure how things could proceed. So I guess finding the rest of his body and his clothes etc is a priority for now.
wow!
I presume he knows more than the general public know.
Is this a rational assessment based upon actual known facts or is he just speculating/
he has taken a very active role from the outset, I don't recall hearing him speak recklessly in the past/
Is my memory good on this or am I mistaken?
it's a bombshell for sure..to my ears , at least.
no i mean whoever picked the skull up, would their fingerprints imprint on the skull? They could identify the skill and bones using DNA.
I don't know if fingerpints would still be findable after being exposed to the elements for god knows how long..no i mean whoever picked the skull up, would their fingerprints imprint on the skull?
if the body had been carred to that location for example?
but if the skull had recently been carried there, in the days since or just before the police re enactment event?I don't know if fingerpints would still be findable after being exposed to the elements for god knows how long..
Even few days.. if it rains or anything I think it can wash them away (I'm not a specialist so idk that's just a Guess from me)but if the skull had recently been carried there, in the days since or just before the police re enactment event?

Additionally, when did the snow melt in the area? Maybe movement due to snow melting dislodged the skull, that is a pretty round object, especially in the case of a toddler (yes, I googled "toddler skull" for images, ugh).IMO the most likely scenario is that the skull has rolled down from steep terrain above the location where it was found (cf Esther Dingley).
According to information from BFMTV, the bones were located in an area located "a little over a kilometer as the crow flies" from the hamlet of Haut-Vernet. Rather below. Which corresponds to approximately two kilometers on foot. In the image below, this is the area circled in red.
As far as I remember, the whole family visited a church or chapel in the Haute Vernet area, after little E had disappeared. Does someone know, which church/chapel it was and where? Or maybe it's completely irrelevant? The Chapel in question has to be Chapelle Saint-Pancrace. It was also mentioned in an article.
The Church is probably Église Saint-Martin du Haut-Vernet, as this is the one in the village. But there is also supposedly another one somewhere - still narrowing it all down.
Translate: Bones of the young boy were found south of the hamlet of Haut-Vernet, after the Saint-Pancrace chapel. It is in a place that the locals call "the 4 paths", a place leading to several districts including Ville Vieille and Auches or even to the Col du Labouret.

A map is shared by this source: C'est tristement près de la Chapelle Saint-Pancrace, martyr et un des Saints Patrons des enfants... que les ossements d'Emile ont été retrouvés
Maps says 120m from the street corner to the church, but I am still narrowing down the exact spot of the find (must be somewhat farther), as the chapel is disappearing on maps: 14 Rue du Four to Église Saint-Martin du Haut-Vernet
EDIT: I think the chapel is 300m further, but google maps refuses to link the chapel by name for me. It was fine 10-15 min ago, but won't work, not sure if my old laptop is to blame or if it has been taken off maps.
Current thinking seems to be more specifically around the Ravin des Auches. See 12.43pm update:Additionally, when did the snow melt in the area? I am still not sure where exactly the skull was found, as different news sites have very different descriptions and images. The BFM one seems a bit more detailed with an image and saying (google translated)
TF1 also suggesting an area near the top of the Ravin des Auches (see below).Current thinking seems to be more specifically around the Ravin des Auches. See 12.43pm update:

Maybe, the rest of partial remains are still "lost", because they would reveal too much to a forensic pathologist?animals could have moved him.. shame there are only partial remains..
They only searched quite a small area initially then - rather than increasing that search area - they stopped.![]()
Tragic update on missing Emile as remains found months after he vanished
POLICE have announced a tragic update on the case of a missing two-year-old boy in France. Emile Soleil went missing last year but cops announced today that his remains have been found in an Alpine…www.thesun.co.uk
From the link above, “a walker alerted police during a hike”.
Could simply be that Emile wandered off, though you’d think with the scale of the searches that took place, any areas the boy could have wandered would have been scoured previously.
Also, being that the village is quite isolated, would a hiker be more likely to be someone from the area? Or maybe a vacationer, in which case they may have been hiking more ‘off the beaten path’ so to speak, could explain why Emile wasn’t found earlier.
Tragic news.
