I didn't have to stop my kids from playing outside. with all the stuff going on they sort of did that themselves. they were a little afraid.

(yeah right, it had nothing to do with constant texts and calls from Brooke about the scary man [insert huge eyeroll])

This chic is the ultimate busy body. She and Brooke are the dynamic duo behind the infamous FB page.

Brooke would text when AA (this black male) was seen in the neighborhood or around the English house at night. she felt violated that "someone" was coming around and upset that my kids couldn't grow up in the safe neighborhood like the I grew up in

Perez checked her cameras. Later she saw pics Renee had posted. State asks if Ofc. Rash followed up and told them it was a white guy behind that theft. She says no.

Jack Brinson, a Satilla Shores neighbor, takes the stand. His son-in-law is a detective with Glynn Co. Police. He became aware of crime in area about 6 years ago after a car break-in. His wife is on the FB page and they discuss what she sees about crime.

Brinson.jpg

Is he aware of thefts in Larry English's home? Brinson says yes, and a dollar amount. Matt Albenze was one who told him, maybe others: "Word gets around." Discussed it w/family. They then replaced their fake-cam system with real cameras.

Annabelle Beasley, another Satilla Shores neighbor. She's lived there since '94. Sube Lawrence is her daughter, and neighbor.

Beasley2.png

She's known Diego Perez since he was a boy in Sunday School. Years later when she learned he was buying a home across the street, she said, "What a blessing." After recent "unnerving" happenings in neighborhood, she got security cameras.

Once when she was in China, her unlocked Honda in the driveway was burglarized--door left open, ransacked. Daughter didn't report it to police. Previously a Jeep had been burglarized and police told that person, "You should've locked your door."

She's not aware of kids "borrowing" wood from English's house. At some point, her grandkids became too scared to play outside. State objects when she talks about "what they saw." Lawyers trying to avoid hearsay. "We didn't want them to encounter anything"

Even today kids rarely go outside. But they can if mom/grandmom is home. Paul Camarillo gets up for cross. He & Beasley have a pleasant exchange. They've had a long convo before. She says other than the homicide of #AhmaudArbery, violent crimes were few & far between.

(Good question about the MMs). I really hope they call DP too, but suspect that they might not & are using his wife instead to get the same info in (2/11, boat theft, crime in the neighborhood, etc.).

It's very interesting to hear DP felt used by English? That he believed E was also calling police, not just using Perez as his own (free) security cop? Though, since Perez offered to be exactly that, why the complaint?
I’m confused about her statement about the no trespassing sign . She asked I think mrs English if they can put them up . But then I thought she said there were many signs in the yard but she didn’t know if any were no trespassing signs .

That’s 100% his intention though.

I think the reason he keeps making a big deal out of this is the same reason the prosecution ended up not bringing up the confederate flag.

They think that there’s a chance that it will alienate an almost all white jury that could potentially not be comfortable about (or straight up dislike) having the fact that this is 100% about race pointed out to them. Prosecution wants to avoid that, and Gough wants them to know that other people are making it about race.

IMO
Except I think he’s bringing this up when the jury has been dismissed from the courtroom. If he continuously brought this up in front of the jury, I think the prosecution would have grounds to move for mistrial based on the fact that he continues to bring it up. The jury has already expressed concerns over their identities being released to the public and sent a note to the judge last week during one of the breaks asking what exactly the media could write about them that could potentially allow them to be identified outside of court.

So I don’t think his goal is to necessarily make the jury feel a certain way, but I think part of it is a major effort to get the media kicked out of the courtroom and hoping the judge will, I guess, close the courthouse to the public? When he pointed out Rev. Sharpton in the gallery last week, the judge told him, paraphrasing, He’s not causing any disruptions and I’m not kicking him out, besides you didn’t even know he was here until lunch and I’m not sure the jury has even realized it either.

Am I seeing things, or was a screen put up in the back of the courtroom?
I seen the white screen several times . I wonder if it was blocking the view.

Didn't & don't find her the slightest bit endearing, personally. Husband as protector of fragile wife & as lord of the home is an alien concept right here.

Adding, the 40" home screen playing multiple security videos 24/7 is just downright creepy, imo.

I took it as she was saying she does not do any technical hooking up of anything in her house, and that's up to her husband. Which, that's how I am, too. I hand it right to mine whether he wants to hook it up or not.

Mrs. DP said that, quoting what English called AA when he spoke to DP. "It's that colored boy again."

I'm not watching, cause I'm working, but dang, is it really smart to put these witnesses on? How did she help the defense, FYI? Your opinion?

ok, defense calling a stream of female neighbors to say they were scared. No male neighbors called by the defense (yet). Interesting. JMO.

Do you remember speaking with TM in his driveway after the shooting of AA. you talked about he case and what happened. and that him and his dad were planning on leaking it. you agreed to help them do that. not at that time and I didn't agree to "leak" it. I would share it once it got out.

We were going to get the neighborhood's "version" of events out there

She was the source of the video!! and it was absolutely meant to exonerate TM and GM somehow. This group of unusual neighbors takes the cake!

Of course, I reckon it’d be unthinkable to say that in front of the jury. It’s still achieving what he wants, more and more people outside every day and more demonstrations. And I don’t think there’s any way they could shelter the jury of what is going on at the courthouse’s doorstep.

Also, pretty sure he pointed out a BLM mask in the gallery when the jury was in the room

Sube Lawrence takes the stand. Lives next door to her mom in Satilla Shores; English's house is across the street and one over. She says she has concerns about being here at the trial. Doesn't want any negative impact in career or personal life.

Sube.jpg

Lawrence says her relationship with the Perezes is "very close." She says Larry English gave her boys plywood to make a bike ramp. Had permission, she says.

In Oct. 2019, she was out of the house & got a camera alert and saw 2 guys with flashlights. She called Brook to ask Diego to take a look: "I feel safe with Diego. He would look out for me and my boys at all cost." He figured out who'd been on cam.

On neighborhood FB page she'd post general neighborly things: who's your landscaper, ice-cream man's here. Didn't initiate any posts about crime. As car break-ins and suspicious person posts continued, kids were afraid to even help get groceries from car at night

Lawrence says growing up there was never crime. In later years when she moved back and the FB posts alarmed her, she started making sure to lock things up, etc. Didn't learn on FB about Black male at English property but from Brook's texts.

Lawrence felt "violated" by that, upset her kids weren't getting to grow up in the same "safe neighborhood." Having to tell them to come inside was disappointing. Rubin: Even tho it wasn't violent crime? She says crimes of opportunity may not start as violent crimes

Okay - must hit the hay - I'll finish with the tweets in the morning!

The talking heads seem impressed with these neighbors' testimony- why doesn't the prosecutor ask each one of them- you were afraid right? but did you or your husband chase and stalk anyone that you thought might have stolen something, or committed a crime and of course the answer is no. I wouldn't let the defense off with this BS red herring testimony- the prosecutor would ask what would you do if you suspected someone of committing a crime , you know that neighbor would say they WOULD CALL THE POLICE

Yes, and I suspect their reply would be that they didn't do it because they knew the McMichaels were running around playing Batman and Superman on their behalf.

TM created FB profile so he could monitor what was going on throughout the neighborhood under this fake name and read what people were saying.

wow

  • #815
you posted re car break-ins, left my window down glad nobody took my purse. TM posts "they're playing with fire on this side of the neighborhood". She conveniently doesn't recall that post.

  • #816
defense asking her about the video ad her sharing it. How were you going to share it? Through SM, post it somewhere. Tell us why? To me I felt matched the story that I knew to be true of this person lunging from the gun. This is the story I heard and had no reason not to believe.

It did not get a positive response once leaked.

Did you ever share it? no. But you were willing to? yes.

  • #817
She saw that video & thought it exonerating. Wow.

I think the prosecution is so far ahead that they dont need to take chances.

There is a court saying to the effect of: "Never ask a witness a question that you dont know the answer to!"

Even if the prosecution thinks they would answer "call the police", that might not be the answer the witness gives. Rather it could be: "I would Cautiously respond"

Perhaps the prosecution fears that such an answer could build a connection to jury members who might be inclined to do the same thing?

In short.....

I am thinking that the prosecution wants to let the facts speak for themselves. Going down rabbit holes over what a witness might do in a hypothetical situation is risky. If the witness goes off on a tangent with unexpected answers, things might get complex.

What the fffffffffff

That is some thinly veiled racist bs under oath. I can’t with these people, I give up

TM created the fake profile after AA death so he could read what others were saying about him. He claimed he had been locked out of his page. I allowed him into the FB group with his fake profile.
