Pool (@JuliaCourtTV) about #AhmaudArbery's mother: "bolts from the courtroom almost tripping over the feet of others saying 'I gotta get out of here.'"

Wanda Cooper Jones returned to the courtroom as Hogue talked about cherry-picking information.

Question: How long was AA in the house 2/23? I know it doesn't matter, but she said he was in there "plundering" that day.

My common sense tells me that AA isn't going to keep coming over to an empty place with lumber and tools "plundering" 4 nights.

But what 4 nights is she talking about? How is he a nighttime intruder when he's there on a Sunday afternoon?

He was there before 4 times, all at night. Once each in Oct & Nov & Dec of 2019, then 2/11/2020. On 2/23, he was on/in the unfinished construction site for a total of about 4 minutes.

I can't wait for LD to tear this up.

I almost wish her rebuttal would just be a screen with a highlight reel of all the times they’ve been racist and pictures of the confederate flag license plate while a set of loudspeakers plays them saying the N word on repeat

That would still be more tasteful than whatever this is

She probably means 4 times. Three times at night and one time during the day - the day he was killed.

This defense lawyer: Making a lot of noise, adding considerable voice inflection, inserting some drama. Speaking nothing substantial. Very unpleasant to hear and watch. IMO.

I didn't realize each one was at night. Thanks. I hope LD points out that one neighbor saw him during the day and that the police officer said you can see in that house by the street light at night.

Didn't the one witness see him during the daytime though? The "don't be racist" witness? I can't remember for sure, but I think she said that was a Sunday afternoon.

Laura Hogue closing argument: My father worked almost 50 years as an insurance salesman not because he liked it, b/c he didn't. He wanted his kids to grow up in a neighborhood safe and secure.

Hogue.jpg

LH: Band-Aids for skinned knees, July 4th parties, crocheted baby blankets, casseroles when we lost a loved one. He worked hard to provide those for the people he loved. Larry English worked hard to provide for his family in a neighborhood just like that.

LH: It's the same life we all have the right to seek. Safety, security, comfort of people we care about. We work hard for our stuff. It's ours and no one has the right to take it. We should never have to fear intruders. A good neighborhood is always policing itself

Flip.jpg

LH: I suggest what the State said in reverse. Start with Count 1, malice murder, then take the rest in 1 big chunk. Greg McMichael pulled no trigger. How could they seek a conviction for malice murder as he stood in the back of a truck as the fatal shots were fired?

Flip2.jpg

LH: Malice murder requires intent to take the life of another human being. The State'll be asking you to find that Greg McMichael encouraged his son to take the life of #AhmaudArbery cause that's what he wanted to do for no reason other than to see that young man die.

Flip3.jpg

LH: To do it right there in front of his eyes b/c the guy keeps breaking in down the street. That's what you need to find Greg McMichael guilty of malice murder. That's why I say start there dispatch of it with a not guilty verdict.

LH: Counts 2-9 comes down to if Greg McMichael was authorized by law to try to execute citizen's arrest, detain #AhmaudArbery for police, keep peace and safety in neighborhood, they were within the law to hold him for police.

Greg.jpg

LH: How else does one hold an individual who does not want to be arrested for the police? You have to contain him. Not false imprison him--contain him. Possibly hold him at gunpoint without firing a shot. Reasonable, measured force to make him stay.

LH: If they were in within the law to detain #AhmaudArbery for police, then Travis McMichael had every single right to defend himself when Arbery inexplicably took that right turn at the truck seeking to disarm Travis

greg2.jpg

LH: Is he the person responsible for stealing English's equipment? We don't know. But can anyone reasonably believe #AhmaudArbery was just doing a looky-loo on those nights in what's been described as a home drenched in absolute darkness?

Gough is now putting on the record that this happened during the lunch recess:

Protestors, whether with the black panther group, were beyond the barriers of the courthouse. There was a coffin with the names of the defendants on it. Large weapons, automatic weapons, were seen outside the courthouse.

We believe it's appropriate to renew the motion for mistrial.

Gough comes in with his once again anticipated protests on the record about the protestors outdoors. Black panthers, their specific objective was to intimidate this jury. large automatics weapons brandished outside courthouse. today's motion for mistrial is being made.

I must have somehow missed the don't be racist witness. Was she for the State or defense? AA was only seen on E's videos those 4 prior times, all at night.

Now, she said something about GM's role, and he was riding in the back of the truck. I could have sworn during the testimony with the transcripts of his story, he said he got out the truck to chase AA a little on foot (he and TM did this) and then when he got back in the truck, he chose to get in the back.

Do you guys remember that testimony?

Well Victoria hasn't posted for at least 20 minutes when I looked.
So - I'm off for the night - I will be back in morning to post the rest of the tweets.

She was that lady whose parents had the gunshots go through their house. You remember that? She said he was standing in the garage doorway, and she thought about how tall he was. Well, let me see if I can find you a clip. Here and she was prosecution. Yeah, I don't know when she saw him. I can't remember if it was before or after the cameras or if she said she didn't remember when it was. ETA, well, the video title says "weeks before the shooting."

The jury should be sequestered during deliberation...IMO

Well, allow guns to be carried openly & everywhere and expect to see guns carried openly & everywhere. Or is gun-toting somehow & for some reason different in this instance?

Houghe wants juror 12 dismissed because she refused to make eye contact with her and is nodding off.

I tend to agree. I think they should have been all along. Heck this trial would have ended at least two days earlier if we could have avoided all the constant motions about this issue. They should definitely be sequestered during deliberation.

Well, did she ever think that was why she refused to make eye contact? Because she was "nodding off?" :D
