Thanks for the clarification. As near as I can tell from the video, he didn't damage or steal anything. JMO, there's no justification at all for shooting and killing this man. None.

What was on that video ?

What we've seen of the few seconds of the under construction home -- it was quite sharp and should have picked up most of Ahmaud's actions or just footage of him wandering about for a bit.
Also still do not know whether AA had his phone on his person.
Some people out walking carry theirs in a secured pocket or sleeve pouch ... just a good thing to have in case of falling and if you need help or whatever.

I will have to a little more research on this. I just know when she found out there was a video of what transpired, she asked either LE or DA to see it and was denied.

Roddie's attorney (Gough) claims he was a bystander, didn't act in concert with the MM's, and is "a pawn in a larger game."

Adding to the confusion about theft or no theft of fishing gear, and if theft from whose house, Gough asserted that there HAD been an unreported theft from English's construction site. Presumably he's referring to the fishing gear.

Good point. I guess I could also wonder why, if LE was not familiar with who Travis was when mentioned by Perez, English didn't say "Who?"

But as mentioned in another post, it is entirely possible Perez assumed English knew who he was talking about and English simply didn't care enough to ask or didn't want to seem like he didn't know who the heck Perez was referring to.

I am not insinuating any sort of complicity from English. Just finding some of the confusing evolving information a bit difficult to wade through. But we see it play out in many cases. With instant news a lot of misinformation comes out and that is normal I guess. I'm just along for the ride as we learn more.

It's late and I can't find it right now, but ... way back in the thread somewhere (or in an online article), English had said that he met Travis once at the house under construction.

Prior to Feb. 23, according to Graddy, English had never met Gregory McMichael. English said he met Travis McMichael once last summer when McMichael and his young son passed by the English property in a boat.

“Mr. McMichael’s son was attracted by the large crane and other machinery that was present for the purpose of installing a dock on the English property. Travis McMichael introduced himself and his son, and the men spoke for about 15 minutes in what is best described as a neighborly chat about the work on the property, Mr. McMichael’s recreational hunting, and Mr. English’s recreational fishing,” Graddy said.

Graddy said English never discussed the unauthorized entries at his property prior to Arbery’s death and never shared any video with them.

“Gregory McMichaels approached Mr. English in late April and asked about the February 23 video. Mr. English did not maintain the conversation,” Graddy said.

The English family lives about 90 miles away from the waterside lot along Satilla Drive, which English bought three years ago, and installed the motion-activated cameras positioned at multiple points in the house last year.

“So we went ahead and had the cameras put up to keep an eye on the boat and any kind of traffic from children in the neighborhood,” English said.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (CBS46) William R. Bryan, the man who recorded the video of Ahmaud Arbery killed while jogging in February, scheduled a news conference Wednesday night but abruptly called it off at the last minute.

Bryan was planning to make some sort of announcement in Brunswick and gathered several members of the media for the event. But apparently at the last minute, he had a change of heart.

as to the video taken of AA in the under construction home, I cannot provide a link as I am getting ready to leave and I read it days ago so take it with a grain of salt:

I read in one of the earlier articles (same day construction interior daytime shot of AA released) that video surveillance only shows him in the interior of the home for a minute or so, the rest of the time he was outside at the back of the property. But again, no time to find that link so . . .

I’ve been following along as best I could but admittedly have fallen behind the past few days since this story broke.

Just what does it mean for a LE officer to be working but not have arrest powers due to the lack of training? And didn’t Sr’s lack of arrest powers/training cover a period of 6 or 8 years? How can LE not track training of its officers and miss this? What happens to all of the arrests he was involved in during that time period.....are they all reviewed and possibly thrown out?

I don't think he would have been capable of making an arrest during that time. He would not have been allowed to carry a gun and he wouldn't be able to drive a patrol car with flashing lights.

He would have been assigned a desk job or something like that, where it's unlikely to involve an arrest.

There is probably an article about it in the media thread that has more details. I don't remember reading that he had made any arrests during that time but it's a good question.

The father, G McMichaels, was a retired police officer (with no arrest powers during his last five years on the job, apparently) but I don't think Travis, his son, ever worked in LE.

So yes, they were both citizens attempting to make a citizens arrest after seeing Arbery trespassing in an open home under construction. They believed he was responsible for burglaries in the area although there is no evidence of that as far as we know. There was only one police report of a burglary and I believe it was about seven weeks before the murder.

I don’t think the video shows he went around the side of the house. It shows him entering, then re-entering to the left, then exiting off to the right. Looking at the overhead view and not knowing the current state of construction I don’t think it’s possible to conclude whether he was ever around the back or not. But I also don’t think that matters at all.

ETA: After all of these pics, I’ve got to admit walking around this house just to take a look sure looks temping. I absolutely love the layout.

IIRC she also was told he was shot during a burglary - it's likely in the media thread for him (thanks @sds71 for all your MSM links - I will be busy updating)

Marcus Arbery said his son, who aspired to be a boxer, was athletic and known for taking daily jogs. Ahmaud Arbery lived in Brunswick, one town over from Satilla Hills, where the McMichaels live.

"He took his body very seriously, always ran and had pride in everything he did," said Marcus Arbery. "It cuts me deeply how his life was taken. I would have preferred them to come and take my life instead."

Cooper said when police told her that her youngest son was shot and killed inside a home during a burglary she had no reason to question it "because it was authority talking."
