Unreal.
Records: For 8 years, Gregory McMichael was acting as an investigator with no arrest powers due to lack of training
Makes me wonder how he got the job, to begin with.

It's not a felony. If you read further:
(d) A person who commits the offense of criminal trespass shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Interesting question.Does anyone know if it is standard protocol for LE or DA's office to deny access to video evidence to the family of a victim because the investigation is still open? Ahmaud's Mom says she was told this.

Well said. My bet is that there could be several people moving from attitudes like:Good points. ^^^
Well IMO , IF English knew who the McMichael's were before the murder... I'm betting he does not 'know' them anymore !
And the DA's, as well !Unreal.

That ^^^Interesting question.
I wonder if they are talking about the rest of the 3 secd vid inside the house that hasn't been released.
I will have to a little more research on this. I just know when she found out there was a video of what transpired, she asked either LE or DA to see it and was denied.Interesting question.

Roddie's attorney (Gough) claims he was a bystander, didn't act in concert with the MM's, and is "a pawn in a larger game."
Adding to the confusion about theft or no theft of fishing gear, and if theft from whose house, Gough asserted that there HAD been an unreported theft from English's construction site. Presumably he's referring to the fishing gear.
Ahmaud Arbery was shot twice in the chest, autopsy report shows - CNN
Good point. I guess I could also wonder why, if LE was not familiar with who Travis was when mentioned by Perez, English didn't say "Who?"
But as mentioned in another post, it is entirely possible Perez assumed English knew who he was talking about and English simply didn't care enough to ask or didn't want to seem like he didn't know who the heck Perez was referring to.
I am not insinuating any sort of complicity from English. Just finding some of the confusing evolving information a bit difficult to wade through. But we see it play out in many cases. With instant news a lot of misinformation comes out and that is normal I guess. I'm just along for the ride as we learn more.
I don't think he would have been capable of making an arrest during that time. He would not have been allowed to carry a gun and he wouldn't be able to drive a patrol car with flashing lights.I’ve been following along as best I could but admittedly have fallen behind the past few days since this story broke.
Just what does it mean for a LE officer to be working but not have arrest powers due to the lack of training? And didn’t Sr’s lack of arrest powers/training cover a period of 6 or 8 years? How can LE not track training of its officers and miss this? What happens to all of the arrests he was involved in during that time period.....are they all reviewed and possibly thrown out?
That makes sense, since in the other video he is seen walking back out through the garage and around the side of the house before he is seen running out of the home. Jmoas to the video taken of AA in the under construction home, I cannot provide a link as I am getting ready to leave and I read it days ago so take it with a grain of salt:
I read in one of the earlier articles (same day construction interior daytime shot of AA released) that video surveillance only shows him in the interior of the home for a minute or so, the rest of the time he was outside at the back of the property. But again, no time to find that link so . . .
The father, G McMichaels, was a retired police officer (with no arrest powers during his last five years on the job, apparently) but I don't think Travis, his son, ever worked in LE.were these two men police officers? i thought one of them was a retired officer? weren't they just "regular' citizens?
I don’t think the video shows he went around the side of the house. It shows him entering, then re-entering to the left, then exiting off to the right. Looking at the overhead view and not knowing the current state of construction I don’t think it’s possible to conclude whether he was ever around the back or not. But I also don’t think that matters at all. That makes sense, since in the other video he is seen walking back out through the garage and around the side of the house before he is seen running out of the home. IIRC she also was told he was shot during a burglary - it's likely in the media thread for him (thanks @sds71 for all your MSM links - I will be busy updating)I will have to a little more research on this.
