Sorry about the excessive bolding, but that is how it is at the source. Same with the over-use of ALL CAPS.

"2:35 p.m. Trump posts on Truth Social that he will be arrested at 7:30 p.m.

'231,000,000 Views, and still counting. The Biggest Video on Social Media, EVER, more than double the Super Bowl! But please excuse me, I have to start getting ready to head down to Atlanta, Georgia, where Murder and other Violent Crimes have reached levels never seen before, to get ARRESTED by a Radical Left, Lowlife District Attorney, Fani Willis, for A PERFECT PHONE CALL, and having the audacity to challenge a RIGGED & STOLLEN ELECTION. THE EVIDENCE IS IRREFUTABLE! ARREST TIME: 7:30 P.M.'"

Katie Phang was just explaining the bar to sever is very high. Paraphrasing her comments - you have to prove as a defendant your own trial is so prejudiced because of defendant A, B, C etc it is impossible for you to receive a fair trial or that the case is so incredibly complex that it would be too difficult for a judge or jury to distinguish the evidence and apply the law intelligently as to each offense.

I feel it necessary to point out I've seen ineffective assistance of counsel appeals DENIED when the attorney was literally sleeping during the trial or was later shown to have a substance abuse issue so I believe the bar is incredibly high but this is also an extraordinary legal precedent in and of itself and the judge(s) involved across the cases are going to be tripping over their robes to be extra cautious.

Also - she predicts, and I concur, that Meadows motion to remove to federal is going to be denied. IIRC, we're now up to 2 Trump attorneys, SOS Raffensperger and an elections investigator all being subpoenaed to testify in Monday's evidentiary hearing. (I think he had the best shot at a successful removal so if he doesn't get it I don't think any of them will.)

As I posted this morning, the only sever case I know is Lori and Chad Daybell, on trial for murder and conspiracy to murder. Lori wanted a speedy trial, Chad did not. The case was finally severed, and Lori was speedily tried and convicted. Chad awaits trial.

That's my only experience, lol, but I will use it and learn more as we go through this case. WS provides an education, for sure.

Do they even air the Superbowl on social media, live? I thought that was strictly a live TV event? That's a very confusing post he made.
I think YoutubeTV streams it, actually. Not sure if there are other services that do, but wouldn't be shocked.

I would like my stollen warmed up, with a little butter melted on top, with the covfefe iced with cream and caramel swirl. Preferably legally purchased.
Thank you!

I honestly don’t get the obsession with viewers and numbers of people watching. Why is it important and what does it have to do with his arrest and charges ? I understand it’s been like this, but WHY ?

Is it too simple to say it's because he's a malignant narcissist who views ratings and crowds as validation to his own superiority and importance? That's my belief anyway.

To bring it back to topic though - there's gonna be a whole lot of people watching tonight simply because it's quite literally history in the making.

I know Trump is really into numbers so he might want to pay attention to the 0 below. bbm

HAPPENING NOW: John Eastman's disbarment proceedings are underway in California, even as his indictment is now pending in Georgia. Currently on the stand: Matthew Seligman, an expert in the Electoral Count Act, who is explaning its provisions as Eastman looks on.

SELIGMAN says he has reviewed the count of electoral votes from every election in U.S. history. There's exactly 0 support for Eastman's notion that the vice president can choose which electors to accept/reject or resolve disputes, he says.

I wonder why he will remain in jail. Did he refuse to negotiate a bond or does he not have the monetary backing to do so?

Eta: Did a little more looking around and found this info:
Earlier this year, he was charged and arrested in Maryland after allegedly attacking an FBI agent that was involved in the Justice Department’s investigation to overturn the 2020 elections, The Washington Post reported. The previous arrest could have complicated Floyd being able to negotiate a bond agreement with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, which has not commented on the matter.

Harrison Floyd being denied bond is outrageous. Knocking on someone's door is not a crime. <modsnip: not victim friendly>

From the link:
2:59 p.m. Fulton County deputies confirm Trump co-defendant Harrison Floyd surrendered on Thursday but will remain in jail without bond. Also known as Willie Lewis Floyd III, Floyd served as director of Black Voices for Trump, and is accused of recruiting Stephen Cliffgard Lee, a pastor, to pressure Georgia election worker Ruby Freeman and her daughter after Trump and his allies accused them of pulling fraudulent ballots from a suitcase during the vote count. Lee allegedly knocked on Freeman’s door, frightening her and causing her to call 911 three times, prosecutors said in a court filing last year. The sheriff’s office also says it expects all of the remaining defendants named in the indictment will surrender by Friday, August 25.
