Just checked the value for the Ocala house, and it is valued in the 2 million dollar range. This guy was some businessman!

IMHO

Question for my fellow sleuths: How do you stay logged in on websleuths? Every time I leave the page, I have to log in again. I have checked the “keep me logged in box” to no avail. It’s annoying. Don’t like this new site

I have to say...I love this site. Much better than Tapatalk. Never thought I'd say that. I use a no ad Browser and then I leave it open when done.

I haven't been on here much due to work and vacation but I noticed there's another murder in the same area . Even though SS says this is not connected could it be connected? weird how SS dismissed the possibility so fast almost like he knows who killed the Dermonds and he's just sitting on his hands

@wildebeest -I like your new avatar. The old one gave me shivers! You always have such good posts, but oh, that avatar! Ha, ha.

Can’t answer your question as to how to stay logged in - lately I have been staying logged in. I hate the repetition of signing in just going from one page to another which was happening until about three weeks ago. Hope you find out soon.

Thanks, 123, you weren’t the only one who complained!

Hi, hockey—- yes, it does seem as if SS is quick to dismiss anything popping up that could be a connection to the case. If he knows who did it, what in the world is he waiting for? I have never been to this area, but it sounds like a beautiful, peaceful, retreat, from the hustle and bustle, (and traffic) of the Atlanta area. But, there have been some scary things happening there. I think of the Nuwabians, the Dermonds, Tex McIver, and now Chad Haufler. I am omitting some others, I’m sure.

IMHO

Hey, dancin! You just read my mind. I was asking the same thing myself. So, CH was in the crime scene cleaning business? Didn’t the perps leave the Dermond crime scene clean??? Hmmm...

IMHO
YES! if they entered but here's the thing...…..no house is that clean right!? You could eat off the floor?!?!? WTH

I think there's some involvement with oil business, maybe.

I'm not sure which forum/heading would be best for this shooting.
Hey maybe Lake Oconee crime!?

don't forget the suspcicious RE agent a week after the D's discovered, who allegedly just simply drown at her dock, fully dressed with purse on dock waiting for her family to pick her up???

also the death of the owner of Cashmere and the city job, what was it?

yeah I was thinking that too hocky and WIlde, about how he just dismisses everything!! But even if he knows who is behind it...…..who actually did the work tho?

Thanks for the reminder of other crimes, dancin. I knew there were others, but couldn’t remember the specifics. Lots of bad stuff happening in such an idyllic setting.

Haufler and his wife, Monica, have an Ocala home but purchased a home in the Greensboro gated community of Reynolds Lake Oconee in July, according to Harrison and the suspect’s Georgia attorney.

how sad is that, just bought the darned thing, I thought it was empty

The Murders of Elderly Georgia Couple Russell and Shirley Dermond: A Beheading and No Leads

"It's very, very frustrating," Sills told InsideEdition.com. "Very troubling. I get up every morning and I think about this case."

He has no witnesses. He has no suspects. He has no motive, no DNA, no fingerprints. He doesn't even have a crime scene.

A canvas of the grounds showed nothing out of place. "The house was immaculate," Sills said. It looked, the sheriff thought, like it had just been staged by a real estate agent. Shirley kept a very clean house.
-----------------------------

DID SHE?

Ok I know every time a crime happens here we or "I" want to look closely and see if there is a connection to the D's but it was really really clean and if not this company, im thinking someone DID actually clean the house, idk, maybe there would be MORE evidence had the perps been inside, IDK.....but it's odd to say they don't even have a CRIME SCENE, right?

SO WHY DOES SS have nothing and why does he say so quickly that the Haufler crime is not related, it may not be, it may be...…...but WHAT information gleaned that made him think it's NOT related tot he D's? That was a pretty quick assessment...…...er, I think hockey said too

And here 's the thing...…...every time "I" see a crime there I wanna dig further, every time authorities see a new crime in the area, they say they aren't connected, right off the bat

well, Everyone is NOT clean, there is not a NO ONE who did this......LOL< double negatives...…...it's like they are dead and maimed but NO ONE DID IT

and everything that anyone suggests or crimes in the area, SS says it's not connected, well he cant' say its all NOT...……...for heavens sake..... he doesn't even have a damned crime scene!! LOL...…...no dna, nothing, so back to the top of this post...……..circles

this case drives me insane

Hi, just saw this so thought I’d share since it’s the same area as the Dermond’s (looks like it’s across the lake from Great Waters). For a quiet, gated community, it sure does attract attention.

Even though this was right across the lake from the Dermond’s, it happened in Greene County and they called the GBI soon after it happened.

1 dead, 1 in custody after shooting at Reynolds Lake Oconee - www.ajc.com GBI: Reynolds Lake Oconee homeowner tells 911 he shot, killed intruder
Hey, thanks for informing us all here about this case!

SS has all forms of evidence trust me on that, he stated early on he had all forms of evidence now he just needs to prove his theory of how and why this murder happened. He's playing a game as he sits at his desk waiting for a confession because it's the only way he can get a conviction. As soon as this recent murder happened he dismissed any connection to the dermond case which tells me he has his suspect but just can't prove it in court. NOBODY leaves zero evidence not with todays technology

Don’t know whether to be happy or sad, if this is indeed the truth. While it would be a good thing for SS to have a firm suspect, it is sad to think there may never be a conviction. I don’t see a confession on the horizon, but I do believe there could be a “slip up” somehow, that could lead to an arrest.

At this time, I think your theory, hockey, is a definite possibility.

IMHO
