I am curious how loong it takes to turn a cold case over to a cold case team or do they just sit on the desk of Local LE waiting for a phone call.....seems the GBI, FBI and local LE in Ocilla didnt do much for Tara's case either........what is the hold up? Thanks Hockeyguy for posing this quesiton in regards to DA role int his case

My impression was that local politics wasn't heading towards hope for answers, stalled and slow rolling, until SS finds some reason to call in the GBI or the FBI.

Foxfire didn't think their families took out a hit on them, for sure.

haha, I sent a link to the thread to the Putnam DA, did it not show up?

I was commenting that he looks very very young
https://www.ocmulgeeda.org/putnam-county-office

Oh i see, I think I didnt post it correctly

Must be my thingy, still not loading, but I remember seeing it before, the gist of it. Is there some specific aspect that still compels you about it that hasn't been discussed?

Wait, I thought you had a link to an article that discuss specifically what the FBI tested to help, but otherwise a local effort,

No, now Im not following lol

but so not downtown eatonton? He didnt live in Eatonton, I cant remember exactly where but I think north of there, i'd know the town if I saw it in print I think

No one here is offereing the information that he surely shared with someone, I dont recall he speaking to LE in putnam, or SS...and I haven't seen anything he's written in regards to new or different information the only reason I asked, dont want to miss ANY thing. Maybe he was sworn to secrecy about anything he fuond out other than public knowledge at this point....but it was allegedly a white man on the lawn....not sure how many white NC members there are either...

But I know "I" casually discussed it with one of the putnam co deputies who told me it was a hit from up north

well, NC was from up north, so there's that LOL, but he said they are long gone IIRC, which the members are NOT long gone...tho DY is, as he's in prison and was at the time of this incident

BUT...so the county was not putnam that didnt allow non residents to carry?

Can they do that? anyway never heard of that before, I know certain business do not allow those with permits to carry inside their establishments and for good reason, I guess...who knows anymore haha

We were about an hour away from where he lived on our way to somewhere else, if that helps?

The county mandated all resident own guns, from what I recall.

I'm sure he would've shared anything he learned on the thread at the time. I'm not remembering anything about what was said or if. He did talk to LE about so many cases all over the country, no?

I think Foxfire's posts have answers to all the questions I could answer. I always kept a fresh mind away from the thread, as it were. I have yet to read more that a dozen posts. Trusted that with Foxfire on the thread, being a local and very well researched, there wasn't much I could bring to it, besides support.

Where was luminol used? was it inside or outside or both? or at all?

Did someone come in and clean the house? McDaniel did, luminol discovered that

What happened with the footprints in the yard investigation

Do you remember that HG?

I also wonder how bad the blood splatter was and could a gun have been used >...OR NOT....seems it would be close range and the bullet should have exited and left a certain type of splatter or atelast MORE than was suspected

SS meandered on his stance in regards to a bullet lodged ...at first said no, and then later said he'd not ever seen that I THINK but then said he thought it was the reason

What prompted the change in his opinion?

I recall there was not any or not much blood splatter except where it puddled but Ive seen no pictures of the crime sceneose with permits to carry inside their establishments and for good reason, I guess...who knows anymore haha

Wow, dancingunder. That's way too inside football for me.

I think there's some info on the threads about where they still may have presence, but families, generations, decades of fingers in everything doesn't just go poof, if you mean NC.

There was the documented message to SS about the day not being over which if IIRC was traced back to NC?

Maybe that was it?

My strongest impression was that the chances were good that influence peddling written off as pride impedes the investigation.

Hope the Dermond's horrible murder is someday solved.

Foxfire may have been wrong about NC (the LI, comment on the weather report n all), or he passed before more information became available, and he'd be thinking along completely different lines.

Maybe another kind of cult, syndicate or parties who'd benefit from a well planned and executed unsolvable horrific crime, were showing what they can do?

Maybe the decapitation was to throw things off and it was actually some other local concern or interest involved with illicit funds and intimidation?

Has there been more information beyond SS being stumped, committed, but not needing help?

I have much respect for Foxfire! Miss his posts. The thing that scared me was that the cult members are everywhere. I think FF told me some even worked as guards at Reynolds Plantation. And there was a couple that worked installing CCTV equipment that were former members of the cult. There was a website I looked at that sold products made by cult members - soap products, etc. It freaked me out because not long after looking at the website of their products - I received a flyer of their products!! Scared me pretty bad because I did not enter any information to receive anything from that website.

T. Wright Barksdale, putnam co ga DA, was what the link was for, you can search it if interested

I am sure there is more information on this case that has not been shared by LE, some withheld purposely, i get that, but now, NOW? it's 4 years come May....maybe more needs to be told...IF there isnt' more information then SS doenst need this thing sitting on his desk, hoarding it as the only investigator on this case. Ive talked to some LE before, they aren't investigators, WHO is investigationg this case Is what I wonder, besides SS and his deputies?

what I had asked up thread was about luminol, nothing was ever mentioned of it and the footprints in the yard immediatley after the discovery of the Mr Dd. I recall something about all that and cannot find the article anywhere any more

ANd how much blood splatter, was it enough to show that Mr D was in fact shot....or not?

Just things of that nature....

It seemed professionally, methodically and brutally done, is what stayed with me from what he mentioned, very. Moved to the garage n all, but I didn't ask nor did he go into much more detail.

It wasn't nearly the only thing we talked about, since I knew very little about it at the time.

Whatever Foxfire brought to WS, was what he thought. Are there deleted posts of his you might've screenshot?

OH hey I only saw and read part of the message, i see the rest up above....yes I remember the ad, the days is not over yet or something to that affect.....no i just wondered what FF found DIFFERENT informationhe may have found out from LE

PRIDE< you said it, PRIDE...I call it narcissim, Pride is a good thing but too much becomes narcissim, where one must WIN, be the top dog, always......so he hoards this case and no one can investigate it unless he says so??

weird
thanks for your input

It sounds very common knowledge like, yes, I'll give you that.

Everyone does.... weird all the putnam co deaths of the elite within 2 years and then FF who followed this case closer than anyone....so weird.......the devil's in the details

RIP FF

Yes. I wonder if there's a new term for all the seven deadly sins, sloth, slackers and so on...

Sorry, I don't know more, and wasn't around on the thread more when he was. Maybe someday I'll read it all, after it's solved to see how it compares to what Foxy thought.

I think as things have come to pass a year or more later, Foxfire had it right, the investigation would dog SS less and less with time, unless others take a look with a freer hand and fresh eyes.

You're welcome. Thank you for still caring about all the details and finding them upthread.

did you say...."Moved to the garage"??? as in the body?

another question I would ask

Was there any gunshots heard in teh cove area that weekend? I know the shots reverberate over teh lake and it's hard to tell unless you were righ nearby but then there are silences SO

yes the beheading was brutal enough but dont think there was any other injuries to RD body

talk that he was murdered "elsewhere", i took that to man the yard, others take it to another level as in teh-body was carted all over town and re-deposited in his garage

I think that's unlikely, too risky but I DO see it could have happneed outside with a hammer or other object adn then dragged inside teh garage.....because clearly the perps didnt want hte body discovered right away, but wanted it discovered or would have hauled him off as well

they staunched the flow of blood to prevent it running under the garage door so anyone pulling down the driveway didnt notice it

they made their 48 hr escape

there is evidence missing and evidence not being told....we may all have a completely different theory if we had more crime scene information I guess

Taken to the garage, alive, murdered methodically, house undisturbed, lamp shade off, nothing to trace them yet. Again, much less detail than you may know.

Not much, at all. Wondering about how deviance gets defined at different times in different ways.

ahh, so over time, he just lets it go cuz he knows.............nothing he can do about it.
