I am willing to bet SS found dna and finger prints NOBODY can clean that well not even if they had serve pro come in after and do a thorough cleaning. SS once claimed he had all forms of evidence including dna fibers and finger prints which he now claims he doesn't have.

NO don't delete it! I want to respong to a few things , good post...….

Yes you can pawn a rolex
I think they had cash in wallets left in house

MrD had gone to Publix on Thursday and bought bread IIRC, maybe cucumbers too, its on one of the articles with video of him

Mrs D always rose early, she did her crossword puzzles in the mornings
and had worked the Saturdays puzzle iIRC

You are right about trails, but someone closer to them would have NOT taken their personal things in order to prevent detection

LE is certain it was someone they knew or atleast acquainted with

so even someone they knew could have come up, they trusted them

Gah! They went to a lot of trouble to avoid detection

well it was someone they knew because too many factors on the criminals side.....so whoever did it KNEW what was up around there!

K
Thanks
Sounds right.

Maybe the female who wasn't being truthful during the 1st interview was not being truthful about being in the area at the time of the murder. Could be the daughter or granddaughter.. JUST A THOUGHT

I want this case solved so badly. I seem to have an affinity for older folk (even though I guess I'm getting to be an older "folk" myself..), and for the sweet Dermonds, who still lived on their own and took care of themselves and participated in social activities, to be horribly slaughtered at an advanced age.... It just bothers the crap outta me :(

I think of how angry this murder makes me and I wonder why the kids aren't as angry

exactly, wonder why...….you know all the crime shows Ive seen, the majority of the family have pleas for returning or finding their family member or killer, but always, the ones who don't, welllll……………….

Hi, just saw this so thought I’d share since it’s the same area as the Dermond’s (looks like it’s across the lake from Great Waters). For a quiet, gated community, it sure does attract attention.

Even though this was right across the lake from the Dermond’s, it happened in Greene County and they called the GBI soon after it happened.

Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills estimated this homicide is less than a quarter mile from where a grandmother's body was recovered in the lake in 2014. Shirley and Russell Dermond's deaths have stumped investigators for years.

The home is about 2 1/2 miles from the Dermonds' house, where Russell Dermond was found dead.

Both sheriffs said they do not believe there are any connections between the two investigations.

Ok, Haufler and Dimos were friends, Haufler was arrested, there appeared to be no forced entry, and so the robbery thing was not true

What caused the shooting? Was one a narc? SS didn't think there was any connection to the Dermond case but could it be the both knew something?

Or was this just squabble amongst the two over drugs or women?

Was about to come on and post on something completely different...…..next post

THis elderly man killed his wife
She never returned from a trip to Graceland. Her husband told three stories — before the truth emerged.

Three months earlier, Snider’s wife of 53 years, Roberta, had vanished. Police in two states were investigating. Rivers had been searched, polygraph tests administered. But authorities struggled for answers.

Well clearly he was caught up with, alone in Burger king, replied when cop said hello how are you, his reply? PEACHYKEEN..........all the while wife was missing LOL

The womans DAUGHTER didnt buy the story that she'd died in another state and he didnt know where the paramedics took her off too

all the while he'd dumped her elsewhere

all this to say:

His plan was not very well thought out......he was the spouse still living, in the same area as their married life, knew people in town AND MOST IMPORTANTLY.....she had family, advocates for her case

IN THE DERMOND CASE: NO ONE subsides in the area to be watched as easily, both died, no spouse and NO advocates for their case.........as we all know, their children aren't inquiring or seemingly very interested in finding the killers

in addition:

For this case to have no clear evidence/forensics, it was clearly someone the family knew whose prints would be and are still INSIDE the house, so no red flags there or the killer did not enter the home or if so briefly and passed through to the garage so not likely much if any evidence would be inside from that or on knobs........also the friends who came inside could have smudged unknown prints on doorknobs

AND/OR:

it was so very well thought out and planned for quite some time to ensure there was confusion, no evidence, no forensics, no one left to tell the story, no family in the area, no neighbors home, no forced entry,

what else?

WHO WOULD PLAN SUCH AS THIS?
WHO WOULD TRY SO HARD TO GO UNDETECTED?

Typically these things are sudden, heat of the moment, or mistakes made because it isn't planned out so carefully as this where there is nothing left at the scene for the cops to go on

Well, that speaks volumes IMO.....

but as you can see from my previous post on another case, people apparently PASS POLYGRAPHS

the article above linked says he's from ocala, FL which is near Inverness, FL........im dumbstruck, this is possibly good news, i hope they'll dig further on him! THeyll have prints now though.....looks at this map..........i dont know how to mark things on here, but just below his house on the water, is where SD was found, the houses are just across the lake and it's interesting that she was dumped on the GREEN county side, where his place is at the Lake Oconnee......HAUFLNER i mean Google Maps
